I spent today configuring my server for my LAN/B-Day party in 10 days. I also bought two mBit and Gbit 24 port switches. I got those for about $180 gently used from a school. I have 30 - thrity foot strands of cat5 cable set up and wokring. Here is a list of games we will play: 1. Cod 4 2. Cod 6 3. UT 4. TF2 5. Halo 2 6. Wow 7. Whatever they want If you can't tell, I like FPS games. We might do Nazi Zombies on cod5 for the 360. My mom is buying me a PowerEdge 2970 server for my server cabinet to go with the switches as a bday present. I am building my server system, 1 unit at a time. My next thing is storage. I want to have 5TB of space to hold my pictures, movies, and music. I will buy a domain name and host my website from my server 24/7. I have a new goal: Go to .

After an hour of playing with code, I managed to do this with Visual Basic: I can adjust the transparency however I want. If I had a better resolution monitor, I could use YouTube API's and incorporate the video into the client itself next to the RS/SD browser. Another thing I can do is just resize the browsers /swap them like PIP mode on tv's.

This idea is very tempting to do. I am 100% certain I can do this in visual basic, but not 100% certain I can do in Java. All I would have to do is draw a customized panel control which makes the web browser transparent while another panel housing a video player plays the video. I could add a timer which does a 4.5 minute countdown that is overlayed in the corner of the video and with 10 seconds left it would warn you with a simple sound. I have never worked with transparency in java.

Today I took care of any final items for my birthday LAN party on the 18th of November. Thirty people are coming and we are all doing a codmw2, codwaw, and halo2 tourney. I will get 20 pizza's, I am renting a fountain drink machine, and I have a warehouse rented to house everything. I have two 24 port switches for computer linkage as well as access to high speed internet. We are doing an all day/night gaming spree. I am so psyched. I am bringing my new computer to own people with. I am also using my old computer as a dedicated server for cod and halo. I have updated the topic. I am seriously looking into redoing StellarKit ,before I progress much further, in Java. This is for two reasons. One, to provide a client that is cross-platform. Two, to stretch my programming skills and learn more with the Java language.

In reply to Racheya's article: I wish I could have gone to the conference. If Jagex even lands foot in American soil, I will spend the $$$ and see them, even if it is just for a few minutes. I hope that the bloom lighting happens soon. I am glad that Jagex took care of RWT. I remember when you could see 8-12 simular names like "imabot001" through "imabot010" in woodcutting or mining. I Google Jagex and search for anything relating to them on a daily basis. Thank God for google alerts. That takes care of some of my lurking. Do you happen to have some pictures of the event?

Today I spent 14 hours working on our house with my dad and uncle. We framed all of the interior walls. I got my hospital bill yesterday and it was $1400.00. I payed it today with the money i was going to use to build a new computer.

Tbh that's probably how some sort of release is going to go. I saw first hand that they're introducing bloom lighting with the fairy rework and the fairy rework is coming with FT P3, so it's a conceivable update. I'm not sure exactly when It'll be out though, it seems a little soon, but it is probably one of the bigger updates that is likely to come soon. I saw the videos of the GameCity conference posted by Me/MechscapeRen and saw that so that is where I got the idea. I really hope the skybox will come with bloom lighting as well :pray:

Erm you under play it. Its a driver update they have to apply that requires them to restart ALL their servers. Which means EVERY single part of the game and site will have to go offline at some point. You overplay it. You can not run a server indefinatly without having to reboot for something later down the road. It's part of the cycle of server-life. It's featured news on the front page... and?????? Its featured, pretty major really considering most modules and game services will be down at some point today. Since when did Jagex have Surface to Air Missiles? Like I said in the first reply, It is part of server-life.

Is there really a need to post every little update on the front page? This is just about a bugged driver in one of the remote SAM's.

I changed the Logo. I was going to anyways. I was working all day today so I didn't get much done. I will work through the night on the IRC Client and MP3 Player.

I found the issue which made my program load slow. It was trying to load all of the graphics for unused themes I had in the resources. Now my program loads in ~1 second
