Banned for failing to recognize a scam email.

They can make it look like the mail came from [email protected]. That's how they try to fool you. If you have done something wrong in-game, you will receive a message in your message box. Scam mails often claim "your account has received an infraction" for one reason or another. If you are not muted in-game, and did not receive any messages in your message box for your account, you do not have a problem. The mail probably includes some link to a fake Runescape website, one that looks a lot like the real thing, but lacks the green bar you see on the real one for logging in. You can hover over the link with your curser and probably see that the link goes to the wrong place. Delete the scam mail and learn to recognize them in the future.
