I doubt it, since I've had the same problem using a different browser. Your having to sign onto Tip.It every single time can be due to a change we recently made to increase security. If you log in at a different location, your old session is terminated.

That appears to happen because RuneScape no longer "remembers" that a P2p account last logged in, and therefore opens the F2p login screen by default. After you log in you're recognised as P2p and the advertisements disappear.

No offence, but what is that based on? Why would a site that shamelessly puts bots throughout the game to advertise itself stop doing so when more attention is given to them?[/hide] Wouldn't that be the point of advertising in the first place? No idea why they would do that when they still offer bots to people. I think it was along the lines of them not wanting new players' experiences to be ruined by mass spammer right after they finish the tutorial. Considering the resource gathering bots are much worse than a few random spammers, and many other such sites are still advertising using bots, that makes little sense to me. If there is truth to what you've read, that particular site has Jagex's talent for making sound business decisions. ;)

I feel so enlightened now. :wall: Posts like these often make me wonder if they believe every player is seriously lacking intelligence, or just make it a sport to be missing the point every single time.

I voted no as most of my friends aren't gamers. Those friends that I have who are mostly play different kinds of games, and one is a casual WoW player. Another reason for my not referring friends to RuneScape is because F2p is pretty much crap now due to the RWT and bots, and I refuse to tell them to pay during their early stages in-game simply to avoid those. Since they'd quit before going P2p anyway (who could blame them?), it'd be a waste of time to even refer them.

Eh, whether or not Jiblix was demodded because of that video, the fact that he was ensured he got a lot more attention. From a business point of view it would have been more logical to either have YouTube take down the video, or just let it be entirely. Customer satisfaction certainly dropped because of this mess, which would be bad for the business in question. Edit: Like Crocefisso stated above, it was short-sighted and caused a PR disaster.

Although I doubt all of it is sold, I can understand players being willing to buy gold, especially since those bots who get the gold are the same bots who keep resource prices down, and hug said resources in-game. If a player used to make money by cutting yews, now those same yews are about 20% cheaper, and much, much, much harder to gather because of the bots who cut down the trees long before the player even gets a single log.

If you care about xp, you really should reconsider wines. Otherwise, as previously noted, Burthorpe is the superior location.

Any specific worlds? Alll, though you may be lucky finding fewer bots in the non-English language servers.

Authors tend to write about what is on their mind, and it is rather hard to keep finding topics that are hardly discussed and eternally happy. It's not as easy as flipping a switch turning inspiration on, so if you have some suggestions I'm sure any author would be more than happy and work on it. :) As far as this week's articles are concerned, I agree with the below.

Because marketing has nothing to do with the truth. Yet upon visiting RuneScape.com for the first time a potential player gets to see this trailer, and may start playing the game because of the impression the trailer gave. They'd log into a game that is entirely different from the trailer. Even when ignoring the massive amounts of advert bots they would encouter within seconds of leaving the turtorial, this wouldn't be very effective in keeping said potential player.

idk how much truth there is to this, but certainly is something that I will think about... It is true that Jagex is now controlled by a board of directors. This was in the news earlier this year http://www.jagex.com/corporate/Press/releaseInvestment.ws and elsewhere. I remember reading somewhere that control of the company was signed over to this board of directors by the Gower brothers and seeing copies of those papers. I can't for the life of me remember where I saw those. Normally I wouldn't have bothered to vote for any game because I don't give half a rat's behind about the prices, but I felt the need this time. What I found amusing though, is that the trailer they provided has absolutely nothing to do with RuneScape. Why is beyond me.

Aside from the ones mentioned above. Puro puro, LRC for fishing as well, any F2p mining guild, yew cutting spot, etc.
