That's incorrect. Avi is an extension that doesn't say a whole lot about the file. There are dozens (probably hundreds) of video codecs (the type of video file more or less) that use the avi extension. If you can't play an avi in windows media player, you don't have the right codec for that particular file. You can try using gspot(

Tracking cookies aren't a problem (just a waste of space in general), and the other 3 don't have any relevant info. It should tell you the name of the spyware somewhere in the log or at least on the screen where it sees them. Zonealarm should work fine. Just make sure that when it pops up and asks you if you want to let a certain prog access the internet, you say yes for messenger and your browser ;)

Here's an easy way to fix a driver-related problem (assuming that's your problem). (I'm assuming you're on win xp but other win oses are very similar). Go to control panel, system, hardware tab, device manager, expand the dvd/cd category, select the drive that's having problems, right click and click uninstall. Reboot your computer and windows will autodetect the drive and install the drivers fresh. See if that helps.

I use opera and firefox and I've never seen a peice of adware or a popup on the forums... (or any website for that matter). Stop complaining and solve the problem yourself ;)

If you were running rs while you took that screenshot, then it's completely normal. If you weren't... that would be a problem... Also, I think the best idea for spyware is using a couple of programs. I use spybot and ms antispyware personally.

I'm surprised that it runs at all with integrated gfx. I'd imagine that that's way under the minimum requirements.

Bungie put an article on their site a month or 2 ago that said that they were going to me a "halo 2.5" They said it would take Halo 2 and lengthen the single-player, expand the multiplayer, and upgrade the gfx to xbox360 quality. That's called inflation.... Meh, I'm confusing myself again. The items which are being bought are becoming worth more and more, but the basic items are staying the same. The only times when the money is worth less, is on rares, but not everyday items. Is inflation based on rare jewels and valuables? No, its based on basic living. Thats what isn't rising. The main thing that im trying to say, is that inflation isnt rising on the price of most things, only on the runescape "black market" of trading. The prices of most items is set and has been set. In the prohibition, when alcohol sale was banned, they didn't say inflation was huge just because black market alcohol was highly priced, because the necessities kept stable. Inflation is a rise in the ammout of money in circulation. There's always inflation. What I was saying is that the current inflation is crazy. It's nowhere near where it needs to be considering the growth rate of the rs memebrship. Therefore all money is worth less. Also, price level is measured as an average of all prices of all consumer goods. The CPI generally doesn't include incredibly valuable items, but I guess it all depends on how you're defining price level. In general, rise in prices of rares decreases the purchasing power of money, so my argument stands.

I founda 7.1 card + 7.1 speakers for under 200 total, I think it was on Newegg too and 50 dollars!?!? cheapest I can find is a buck a gig Oops. I meant $80. They also had a 160BG for $50. Please.. stray away from hostdime. Get out while you can.. I was with them for a few months.. 5 or 6.. Thier support is fast, I'll give them that, but thier support is also non-existant. There were tons of problems with my server, and constant downtime. I sent several tickets to them, but they never fixed my server (I had a "silver reseller" plan). I don't know if it was just me who had a bad experience with HD, but the fact is I did. Must have been a bad experience. Every time anything happened to my server it was fixed in a few hours.

A couple things. No name brand mobos are usually more trouble than they're worth, but it's up to you. The board can handle ddr400 which is no more expensive than ddr333, so I'd go with 400. It's also overpriced. I got a 250GB Maxtor for $50 at circuit city a month ago... Also, it appears that the vid card needs agp 8x and the motherboard only has 4x. Another problem. The cpu is so INCREDIBLY slow, it'll destroy the system. No point spending cash on a decent vid card and decent ram with a processor like that... O yea... Why a 5.1 sound card and 2.1 speakers?

how exactly will safge mode do anything? Maby stop a few backdoor santas, but nothing much else. I'd say unplug your internet instead of "safe mode" I'll stop any spyware from loading so it can be deleted. It could also do the same for some trojans/viruses :roll:

I've always used IE for rs with no popup blocker and I've never gotten a popup. You should do a spyware check asap.
