  1. I'm a lvl 64 runecrafter tired of running back and forth to the abyss. I want to try Law Crafting at World 66 or 99. I can't seem to find a good guide on this subject in these forums so I ask here. - What do I need to bring if I want to be a law crafter? - Do I have to join a clan to do it at all or?
  2. Hi! I was just wondering how many ways are there to get a "Chewed Bones" to use in the Prayer part of the Barbarian training? Is the only way to get it, to kill a Mithril Dragon and hope it drops it?
  3. When I lit my 2 burners in my house to use bones at my altar, are my 2 marrentills in my backpack used up (disappear from my backpack) when I use them right? Or do they stay in my backpack so that I can use them over and over again?
  4. I don't know if anyone has posted this suggestion yet but I'll post it anyways. My suggestion is on how to collect Snape Grass in a good and quick way. First have some Ring of Duelling and at least 1 of the new Skill Bracelets. Teleport to the Crafting Guild using the Skill Bracelet and run south around the house to the spot with 2 Snape Grass respawns by the Hobgoblins. If you are in a crowded world (at least 1500+ players) the respawn-rate is just mere seconds (like 6-7 sec). Pick a full load of Snape Grass and use the Ring of Duelling to teleport to Castle War bankchest. Bank the Snape Grass and use the Skill Bracelet to teleport back to the Crafting Guild and repeat the process. The Skill Bracelet has 4 charges of teleport and it can easily be recharged at the Totem Pole in the Legends Guild (Fairy Ring code B-L-R I think to get there fast from Castle War area). If you have more than 1 Skill Bracelet this method becomes more efficient because then you don't have to go and recharge them as often as you have to do if you only got 1.
  5. Well, as I wrote in the reply before I'm not totally convinced that that is the case, that u save so much more time doing teak planks than oak planks to 99. It will, as I said, much less time to cut the Oak Logs compared to Teak Logs. That time "saved" when cutting Oak Logs can then be spent on making the Oak Planks. So even thou you have to make much more Oak Planks than Teak Planks to get to 99 you make up a considerable time cutting the Oaks than the Teaks. So maybe it doesn't take longer time. And the money spent should be less with Oaks as Teaks as the price is 100 % more for teaks compared to oaks and the xp is only 50 % for for teaks compared to oaks. And if you then take in the fact that you use up Duelling Rings getting the Teaks then the cost is even more to the Oaks favour, I belive. We can in conclusion agree that we seem to disagree on the matter O:)
  6. I still think Oak Planks are the best. Consider that the cost of Teak Plank in your method is twice the price of making Oak Planks (+ 35 gp for the trips with the Duelling Ring) and the XP gain is not twice it's only 50 % (60 XP to 90 XP per plank). So yes, you have to cut and plank some more Oak Logs and planking more Oak Planks. But if you then consider the time spent on cutting the teak logs compared to cutting the oak logs I think that the time-difference is not big at all, if there even is any, considered that Oak Logs should be much faster to cut than Teak Logs. So I think that there is both a money and time consideration that tend to go towards Oak Planks. Not ranting down on your method, just saying that there are more things to consider when making such statements as you made in the guide. Anyways, it's good that ppl do make Construction Guides as there are considerable amounts of money and time to be saved if you now the tricks and such doing Construction. So all praise to you for making a guide =D>
  7. Aren't the price of Oak Planks in the lvl 40-60 section a little bit wrong. You write that the price of a Oak Plank is 400 gp, when it cost 250 gp to turn a Oak Log into a Oak Plank. You write that the cost of 1 Teak Plank is 535 gp which can be true with the planking-cost of 500 gp and the price of used charges on the Duelling Ring can be 35 gp calculated. But the 400 gp for a Oak Plank sounds really wrong. If you use the ballon ride both back and forth from Castle War to Sawmill Operatore you would use the same kind and the same amount of logs to get there whetever you do Oak Planks or Teak Planks so that doesn't count for the higher price of Oak Planks in your calculations. So if you calculate with a price of 400 gp per Oak Planks all the conclusions of that Teak Planks are better xp/gp-wise are wrong. Cutting the oak logs just by the tree patch in Gnome Stronghold is the best place I've found to cut Oaks as there are 2 Oak Trees just down the stairs from the bank and in a crowded world the trees spawns quick and I never gotten any competition on the trees. So no use for any teleport-rings or like that. Cutting the teak logs just where u show in the pic. The right calculations should be (not counting the cost of doing the ballon-trips as they are the same cost for either plank-making): 1 teak plank gives 90 xp and cost 535 gp --> 90/535 = 0,168 XP/gp 1 oak plank gives 60 xp and cost 250 gp --> 60/250 = 0,240 XP/gp So Oak Planks are still better than Teak Planks xp/gp-wise. As someone else wrote Oak Larders is to be prefered until lvl 75 when you can make Oak Doors in a Dungeon room (8 Oak Planks compered to 10 Oak Planks used per item made). You can even skip the butler if you place your house in Rellakka and make like 40 Enchanted Lyres and have a Ring of Charos (e) and a Mounted Glory in your house. Then you can use the Lyre to get right next to your house, enter the house build the items, then use your mounted glory to tele to Egde and bank and use the lyre again and repeat. With 40 Enchanted Lyres, you can keep doing this method for over 1 hour before you have to recharge the lyres which takes 1 Raw bass per Lyre. The Raw Bass can usually easily be bought at a fishing store for like no money at all. Then go enchant them again at the lady by the sea using lyres and the mounted glory again (u can then enchant 26 lyres per used up lyre so totally you use up 2 lyres recharging the lyres but the 2 lyres u use up gets recharged in the last recharge trip). This recharging takes like 10 min or so with buying the needed raw basses takes like 5 min, so every 90 min or so, you have to use 15 min to recharge the lyres again (probably less than 15 min, just worst case scenario where you need to world-hop several worlds to find raw basses). This method totally render the use of a butler (and the cost he/she will bring) to a no-need. I used it myself to get from lvl 52 Construction to lvl 67 Construction.
  8. Wiie, nice to see that I'm "on" the last barrows pic you've posted, as it is me talking to you via the private chat. Didn't know that you did Barrows when I said those things, lol! By the way, with the beginners guide to Barrows you told me I've been to Barrows 10 time now and on the 10th round I got Ahrims Leathertop , wiiee, haha. Hope I see you in game soon again :) And also, I'm also a supporter of your ongoing "quest" and this blog!
  9. I've change the guide even more now and made it more easily readable with a content table and more distinction of the different headlines in the guide. I've gotten over 100+ views in my guide but only like 5 ppl have bothered to reply something. I want to know if anyone finds it useful now after the redoings and if it needs to be changed even more and how. I still also need pic of someone wearing/wielding the rich/high lvl/high risk outfit and the inventory to that. This is because I don't have all those items myself at the moment and it would help and finish the outfit+inventory pics off so I can maybe add other pics too later. So if you mind wearing/wielding and inventory the stuff I've stated in the last outfit and inventory and taking a screen of that and let me use it in my guide I would be very happy and be very appriciated.
  10. I have changed alot of things in the guide now and put in 4 pictures of the outfits and the inventory you should wear/wield/bring along. I've also added some more explainations to the order in which to kill the brothers in each of the 3 guide versions. I've also rearranged some of the text so that each of 3 guides is presented in a better way than before. I still need a picture of someone wearing the melee set (Farseer Helm - God Cape - Bolt Rack (100) - Amulet of Fury - Verac's Brassard or Torag's Platebodyor Dharok's Platebody - Slayer Staff - Book of Zamorak - Ring of Life - Torag's Platelegs or Dharok's Platelegs - Infinity Boots - Barrows Gloves), so if someone would be so kind to take a picture of you wearing all that equipement and let me use it in my guide I will be grateful and you will be mentioned in the Thank You notes in the guide. I also still need a picture of someone with the follow in their backpack (1 Prayer Pot (either a 3 or 4-dozes) - 100 Death Runes - 400 Mind Runes - Spade - Guthan's Warspear - Dragon Dagger (p++) - Karil's Leathertop - Karil's Leatherskirt - Karil's Crossbow - 5 House Teleport Tablets - the rest of the backpack filled with Sharks and/or Monkfishes), so if someone would be kind to take a picture with that inventory in your backpack and let me use it in my guide I will be grateful and you will be mentioned in the Thank You notes in the guide. All other constructive critisism is welcomed \
  11. I'm going to but in pics of the outfits so if you have a pic a might use u can PM me and we can arrange so that I get the pic and post it in my guide. That would be much appriciated. Otherwise I'm all for constructive critisism and if you want me to add something to the guide, just post it here in this thread or PM me about it.
  12. Hi! This is my first guide so bare with me. Table of content 1.........Introduction 2.........Poor/Low lvl/Low Risk Outfit/Method 2.1......Skill Requirements 2.2......Quests Requirements 2.3......The Outfit 2.4......The Inventory 2.5......The idea about the outfit and the fight plan 3.........Normal/Medium lvl/Medium Risk Outfit/Method 3.1......Skill Requirements 3.2......Quests Requirements 3.3......The Outfit 3.4......The Inventory 3.5......The idea about the outfit and the fight plan 4.........Rich/High lvl/High Risk Outfit/Method 4.1......Skill Requirements 4.2......Quests Requirements 4.3......The Outfit 4.4......The Inventory 4.5......The idea about the outfit and the fight plan Introduction The reason I wrote this guide is that I havn't found any guide on Barrows that compile info for a range of different players. There are low combat lvl players that want to do Barrows. There are players that are poor, for whatever reason, and still want to do Barrows. There are also players that don't want to risk expensive items at Barrows but still want to do Barrows. And then there are the medium lvl/normal/normal risk players too and finally there are the high lvl/rich/high risk players. I havn't found any guide out there that compile info for all those players so this guide is for a whole range of different players so I made 3 different guides based on those 3 different player-types, with different outfit and inventory for all 3. The 3 different guides are as follows: Poor/Low lvl/Low Risk Outfit Skill requirements Combat = at least 75 Defence = at least 50 Magic = at least 59 (to be able to cast Fire Blast) Prayer = at least 43 but the higher lvl you get the better Range = at least 20 (to be able to wield a Willow Bow that can shoot Mithril Arrows) Quest Requirements In Aid of the Myreque Ghost Ahoy Horror from the Deep Notes: - You have to have completed the In Aid of the Myreque quest to be able to use the Burgh the Rotten bank . - You have to have completed the Ghost Ahoy quest to have the Ectophial vial with which you can teleport to the Ectofunctus and then walk/run to Canafis where you use the Pub backside trapdoor shortcut to get to the Barrows (you can then stash it in the Canafis Bank when you walk/run by it on your way to the Barrows). - You have to have completed the Horror from the Deep quest to be able to buy and fill a God Book (Optional: If you have lvl 55 Magic and also got lvl 55 Slayer you should use the Magic Dart spell with the Slayer Staff and substitute the Air Runes with the same amount of Mind Runes) The Outfit [/img] Head: Farseer's Helm Shoulders: God Cape or Ava's Accumulator or Obsidian Cape Back: at least Mithril Arrows (about 100) Neck: Blessed Holy Symbol Body: Monk's Robe Top + the best Dragonhide Body you can wear Weaponhand: Fire Staff + the best Shortbow you can wield + Good Melee Weapon Shieldhand: God Book Finger: Ring of Life Legs: Monk's Robe Bottom + the best Dragonhide Chaps you can wear Feet: Boots of Lightness Hands: the best Dragonhide Vambraces you can wear  This outfit cost only a few houndred K gp total and it gives a good prayer boost as you will use prayer alot to be able to do Barrows at this low combat lvl and with this low def equipment. The Inventory - Prayer Potions (at least 4 3-dozes pots or if you make 4-doze you can save some spaces) - Death Runes (about 100 runes will do) - Air Runes (about 4 times the Death Runes will do) - Spade - Good Melee Weapon (like a Dragon Dagger (p++)) - The best Dragonhide Body you can wear - The best Dragonhide Chaps you can wear - The best metal melee body armour you can wear (like a Rune Platebody) - The best metal melee legs armour you can wear (like a Rune Platelegs) - The best Shortbow you can wield - The best food you can get (15 or less depending off how many Prayer Potions you bring) (Optional: If you like you can bring along a Strenght, Attack and Range Potion instead of some food) This inventory is to have the required amount of Prayer Pots as you will have to refill your Prayer as you fight the brothers. The Dragon Dagger (p++) is a good and affordable melee weapon with a great special and fast hitting, so I would bring that as "the good melee weapon". The idea about the outfit and the fight plan - This outfit is for the players who do not have a really high combat lvl (a.k.a less than like lvl 90). - It's also for those players that do not want to risk a lot of expensive equipment at Barrows as this outfit and inventory only worth like 200K - 300K gp. - The idea behind this outfit is to get a useful prayer boost so that you can use prayer on all the brothers with the help of the Prayer Potions - The idea is to use the spell Fire Blast on all brothers except on Ahrim whom you use range on. - The order in which you kill the brothers isn't really specific as you will use prayer on all off them anyway, so kill them in whatever order you like. - When you have killed all the brothers in their mounds you put on your melee gear (Rune Platebody + Rune Platelegs as for my inventory, whatever other metal armour for you, but at least mithril I should say) and start killing some Tunnel Monsters to raise your KC and when you are satisfied you go find the last brother and kill him. - It doesn't matter which brother is in the tunnel beacuse you will use Prayer whichever brother it might be anyway. - The idea when you have finished a run you get out of the tunnel and walk back to the Burgh the Rotten bank to restock and refill your Prayer with Prayer Potions. Normal/Medium lvl/Medium Risk Outfit Skill requirements Combat = 90+ Defence = at least 70 Magic = at least lvl 55 (to be able to cast the Slayer/Magic Dart spell) Prayer = at least lvl 55+ Range = at least 70 (to be able to wear Black Dragonhide armour) Slayer = 55 (to be able to wield a Slayer Staff) Quest Requirements In Aid of the Myreque Ghost Ahoy Recipe for Disaster Horror from the Deep Notes: - You have to have completed the In Aid of the Myreque quest to be able to use the Burgh the Rotten bank. - You have to have completed the whole Recipe for Disaster quest to be able to buy and wear the Barrows Glove from the chest in the Lumbrigde Castle cellar. - You have to have completed the Horror from the Deep quest to be able to buy and fill a God Book. The Outfit Head: Farseer's Helm Shoulders: God Cape or Obsidian Cape or Lava Cape Back: Rune Arrows (about 50) Neck: Amulet of Glory Body: Black Dragonhide Body + Rune Platebody Weaponhand: Slayer Staff + Magic Shortbow + Good Melee Weapon Shieldhand: Book of Zamorak Finger: Ring of Life Legs: Black Dragonhide Chaps + Rune Platelegs Feet: Blue Mystic Boots Hands: Barrows Gloves  This outfit is for the medium player with around lvl 90 combat and whom has some money to spend and/or risk on the equipment needed. With this equipment you don't have to rely on Prayer as much as in the first guide. But you will use prayer on 2 or 3 brothers (depending on how fast you kill the brothers and how high your Prayer lvl is) anyway with this outfit. The Inventory - Prayer Potions (1-2 3-dozes pots or 1 4-doze pot to save a space) - Death Runes (about 100 runes will do) - Mind Runes (about 4 times the Death Runes will do) - Spade - Good Melee Weapon (like a Dragon Dagger (p++)) - Rune Platebody - Rune Platelegs - Magic Shortbow - Sharks or Monkfish (19-20 or less depending on how many Prayer Potions you bring) This inventory is made up by having 1-2 Prayer Pots as more like precausion because you shouldn't need to drink more than 2 dozes to kill the first 2-3 brothers. A Dragon Dagger (p++) is also usefull with this method as it is very usefull at that cost for it. If you use this method you should also have nothing lower than Rune armour as rune isn't that expensive anyway compared to the lvl you are and the benefit you get from using it. So I would say that the risk of bringing it along is acceptable. I would also use nothing less than Monkfishes as food beacuse you will need some 10-15 of those to heal as you will fight 3-4 of the brothers without Prayer on. (Optional 1: If you have a POH with an Altar and a Kharryl Portal you can bring some House Teleport Tablets instead of 1 Shark/Monkfish, so you can recharge your Prayer in your house instead of refill it with Prayer Potions at the Burgh the Rotten Bank) (Optional 2: If you like you can bring along a Strenght, Attack and Range Potion instead of some food) The idea about the outfit and the fight plan - This outfit is for the players who have somewhat a medium combat lvl (90+). - It's also for those players who have quite high stats in the skills required to be good at the Barrows (Range, Magic, Defence, Slayer (lvl 55)) but do not have the money to buy or the will to risk Barrows equipment at the Barrows but that are still willing to risk a fair amount to get some higher benefits that comes with wearing and wielding better equipment. - The idea is to take out Dharok first and then either Ahrim (remember to use Range on him, not Magic)/Karil (or both if you kill Dharok and the chosen brother fast or have a high Prayer lvl) with Slayer/Magic Darts with Prayer on and then mage the other brothers without Prayer on or with just little Prayer help drinking 1-2 dozes of Prayer Potions. - The specific order in which to kill the brothers isn't really set more than you will have to start with Dharok and then go on to either Ahrim or Karil or both of them, then you can kill the other melee brothers in whatever order you fancy. - If either Dharok, Ahrim or Karil is the one in the tunnel you should use Prayer on the brother in the tunnel too, as you would do if that brother was in his mound. - Then you change to your melee outfit when you go down the tunnel and fight the tunnel monsters. - When you are finished with the run you either walk back to the Burgh the Rotten bank and use Prayer Potions to refill your Prayer and restock or use a House Teleport Tablet and recharge your Prayer out your house's Altar and then use your house's Kharryl Portal to teleport to Canafis Pub and restock at the Canafis Bank. Rich/High lvl/High Risk Outfit Skill requirements Combat = 90+ Defence = at least 75 Attack = at least 70 (to be able to wield Guthan's Warspear) Range = at least 70 (to be able to wear and wield the Karil's equipment)Magic = at least lvl 70 (to be able to hit more often and better with the spell) Prayer = 60+ (preferably 70+ to be able to use this method with lower risk) Slayer = 55 (to be able to wield a Slayer Staff) Quest Requirements In Aid of the Myreque Ghost Ahoy Recipe for Disaster Horror from the Deep Notes: - You have to have completed the In Aid of the Myreque quest to be able to use the Burgh the Rotten bank . - You have to have completed the whole Recipe for Disaster quest to be able to buy and wear the Barrows Glove from the chest in the Lumbrigde Castle cellar. - You have to have completed the Horror from the Deep quest to be able to buy and fill a God Book. The Outfit (insert picture of the outfit here) Head: Farseer's Helm or Torag's Helm Shoulders: God Cape or Lava Cape or Obsidian Cape Back: Bolt Racks (about 100) or Rune Arrows (about 50) Neck: Amulet of Fury or Amulet of Glory Body: Verac's Brassard/Torag's Platebody/Dharok's Platebody + Karil's Leathertop Weaponhand: Slayer Staff + Guthan's Spear + Karil's Crossbow Shieldhand: Book of Zamorak or Rune Defender Finger: Ring of Life Legs: Torag's Platelegs or Dharok's Platelegs + Karil's Leatherskirt Feet: Infinity Boots Hands: Barrows Gloves  This outfit is for the players that have the required skill lvls to wear and wield the outfit and who have the money to buy it or the will to risk such an expensive outfit. You can choose either the Zammy Book or the Rune Defender, depending on how regularly you think you hit with Slayer/Magic Dart without the Book wielded. You can wield the Book when you kill the borthers and then change it to the Defender when you kill tunnel monsters. The choise is of course yours :) The Inventory (Insert picture of the inventory here) - Prayer Potion (1 3/4-dozes pot will do - just as a precausion) - Death Runes (about 100 runes will do) - Mind Runes (about 4 times the Death Runes will do) - Spade - Guthan's Warspear (to heal on the Tunnel Monsters as you raise the KC) or Dragon Dagger (p++) - Karil's Leathertop (wear this when you fight Ahrim and/or Karil and Guthan) - Karil's Leatherskirt (wear this when you fight Ahrim and/or Karil and Guthan) - Karil's Crossbow (weild this when you fight Ahrim) - House Teleport Tablets (the same amount as the amount of runs at the Barrows you will make) - Sharks or/and Monkfishes (the rest of the spaces left in your backpack) (Optional: You can bring a Super Set along instead of some food if you want to boost your effort) This inventory focus on the melee outfit which you use on the melee brothers then the range/magic outfit that you use on Ahrim and Karil. To save up some food you can bring along Guthan's Warspear and heal up on tunnel monsters as you kill them to raise your KC. You can save up several foods with this method and you then have some more food you can use when fighting the brothers that are in their mounds as you then now that you can use up more food on them beacuse you don't have to heal up with so much food in the tunnel when using Guthan's Warspear. 1 Prayer Potion (preferably a 4-dozes one) should be brought along as a mear precausion if something, for whatever reason, will not go as planed. The idea about the outfit and the fight plan - This outfit is for players who have can afford to buy this outfit and are willing to risk expensive items at the Barrows. - It's also an outfit for players with 90+ combat preferably. - The overall idea is to only use the charged Prayer and when it's 0 you don't refill it with Prayer Potions except if you really need it. - Use Prayer on Dharok and then on the borther/borthers you think are the worst threat to you (I would suggest Ahrim or Karil or both of them) and when it runs out you heal up with the food you brought along. - So the order in which to kill the brothers isn't that specific with this method either, just kill Dharok first and then Ahrim or Karil or both and then kill the melee brothers in whatever order you like as your Prayer will be at 0 sometime after the 2-3 brother anyway. - If Dharok is in the tunnel you should use Prayer on just Ahrim or Karil, or both if you think there will enough Prayer left to kill Dharok with it, and then turn it off to use the remaining when you kill Dharok in the tunnel. - The attack idea is to cast Slayer/Magic Dart on all brothers except Ahrim, whom you range with your Karil's Crossbow. - For all borthers, except Ahrim and Guthan and maybe Karil too, you wear the melee outfit (Platebody+Platelegs) and then you change outfit to range/magic (Leathertop+Leatherskirt) when you fight Ahrim and Guthan and maybe Karil too. - When you go down the tunnel you wear the melee outfit and wield Guthan's Warspear (or if you substituted it for a Dragon Dagger (p++), you wield that instead). - If you wield Guthan's Warspear you can heal up on the unnel monsters as you raise your KC too, this will save you some food, as explained before. - When the run is completed you use a House Teleport Tablet and teleport back to your house where you recharge your Prayer at the Altar and teleport back to Canafis Pub with the house's Kharryl Portal. - Back in Canafis you can restock at the Canafis Bank and then run to the Barrows again through the shortcut in the trapdoor behind the Canafis Pub. Thanks to  hellbellz  Warrior5024
  13. Or if u have a high enough thieving lvl u can go to the bar in Bandit Camp in the desert and pickpocket the bandits there to get 1 doze anti-poison pots regularly (along with some nice cash too). Just remember to not wear any god items because then the bandits will attack u relentlessly and then u can't pickpocket effeciently. About every 3-4 pickpocket is a 1 doze antiposion pot and this way the pots are "free" and u can pour the 1 dozes togheter so u end up with several 4-dozes instead. Only cost is to get there, either by the carpent ride to the beduin camp or by camulet teleport or simply by running there from shanty pass. NOTE: this comes especially handy when u have to picklock the chest in the tent nearby the bar which posion u if u fail any of the 2 first traps in the chest
  14. I want to train my Magic up from my current lvl 69 to somewhat 70+. I don't want to do the High Alch because I don't have many items that is economically efficient to high alch. So instead, I want to use attacking spells to kill monsters to train magic. I have quite a few runes so the rune part is not the problem. The problem is to find a suitable enemy to train on for most xp for Magic lvling. So, where and what should I train at/on?
  15. Can I use noted Soft Clay when I make Teleport Tablets?
  16. Okey, so now I've gotten a couple of alternatives to my own Chaterby-west-of-farming-patches-route. So I went off an compared them time-wise, alas, how long it took to run and walk the 3 alternative routes. I started at the nearest bank (Varrock east bank in Varrock, Falador west bank in Falador and Chaterby bank in Chaterby) and then I first walked and cut the route bank to bank and timed that for every alternative route and then I ran the same route and timed that. So here are the result: Varrock - Walking = 03:20 (minmin:secsec) Varrock - Running = 02:29 Falador - Walking = 03:32 Falador - Running = 02:49 Chaterby - Walking = 02:58 Chaterby - Running = 02:21 The conlusion to this time-test of the 3 alternative routes to cut and bank Normal/Regular Logs is that my own first presented route of cutting the logs just west of the Chaterby farming patches is by far the fastest if you walk and sligthly, but still, the fastest, if you run the route until you get a full load of logs. So the place and route I presented is still the one to prefer over the other 2 routes presented. So, are there any other alternative routes out there?
  17. Yes, where is the best place P2P to cut and then bank Normal/Regular Logs? I usually cut my Normal/Regular Logs (for arrow-making) just west of the Catherby farming patches but I want to get more ideas on where to cut my Normal/Regular Logs. So any other places that may be faster than to cut them at the place I cut them?
  18. Really nice and furrow guide ....10/10. Using it from now on with my Slayer assignments!
  19. Hi! Like a month ago or so I wanted to lvl up my Construction from lvl 52 to lvl 67 and searched for the quickest and most cost-efficient way of doing that. What I found was that there is first a way of NOT having to spend like insane amounts of money for a servants help. And there's also an another way of quicker make your planks as with using the Hot Balloon Ride. And there's also a quicker thingy to take get from bank to your house and then to your Oak Larder spot. All of this I have covered here below and if that information help you (if u decided to extend or fill out your guide further) u can use that info in the guide, so here goes; If you want to save money you can lvl up fast even without using a servant which this guide tells you how; http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=526281 The only thing you have to pay for except the cost to make the acctual Oak Planks is the 1k per golden string you have to pay the troll for making the Lyres, so a total of like 30-40k extra added to the cost of 250 gp per Oak Plank. You also need some like 100 Raw Bass (if you have an enchanted Ring of Charos that is, otherwise you need about the same amount of Raw Sharks). I think almost everybody doing higher lvl Construction know the Balloon Ride Method but if you don't know it, it is as follows (with a twist I added); 1) Get to Castle War bank chest by any means 2) Dress in the lightest possible clothing (like Boots of Lightness and Spotted or Spottier Cape) 3) Get the required amount of cash 4) Get 1 Willow Log and 1 Yew Log from the bank chest 5) Get the amount of Oak Logs so that you carry as close to 40 kg of weight as possible 6) Now the added twist - get your wc axe out of the bank and wield it 7) Run to the balloon ride assistant just outside the Castle War area 8) You pay the 1 Willow Log to the assistant and ride to Varrock 9) Now start to cut the Oak Trees just beside the balloon to fill your inventory up so it's full 10) Pay the Saw Mill Operator to make the Oak Logs into Oak Planks 11) Catch a ride back to Castle War paying the assistant the 1 Yew Log 12) Go/Run into the Castle War area bank chest and repeat the process The thing about bringing along your wc axe is that the axe just weigh 1 kg and even if you have to carr 1 less Oak Log along to be able to wield your axe you make that Log up because when you get to Varrock area you can cut you inventory full of Oak Logs there and make them into planks right away there and still be able to catch the ride back to Castle War area because planks weigh a lot less than logs of the same material. So doing this you can still make an almost full load of planks without not being able to ride the balloon. I'm wearing my Boots of Lightness and my Spotted Cape and with that clothing I'm able to carry 21 Oak Logs while wielding my axe and carry 1 Willow Log and 1 Yew Log. Then when I get to Varrock area I can cut another 5 Oak Logs (the cash takes 1 space and the Yew Log takes 1 space - you have already payed the assistant the Willow Log so that space is freed up - so you have 5 free spaces to fill with 5 more Oak Logs) there to be able to get to make 26 Oak Planks per ride instead of just the 21, doing this method with the axe brought along. Cutting the Oak Logs I prefer the 2 Oak Trees just beside the south stairs up to the south bank in the Gnome Stronghold area. These trees are very close to the bank and if you aligne the camera to show both trees and also the staircase up to the bank in the same screen you can cut them fast and you can see when the south tree becomes an angry tree spirit (which is very hard to see if you cut that tree with a camera view from just right down on the figure). So doing all this cost just the cost of the Oak Planks and 1 Willow Log and 1 Yew Log every load of Oak Planks you make. And also the cost of making like 30-40 Lyres which comes to 1k per Lyre, so about 30-40k extra. So if you do just like 2-3 lvls of Construction those extra costs may not make up the cost for doing the lvls with a butler but if you are going to lvl up like 5+ lvls at once this method is cheaper than doing it with a butler because you have to pay him every 7-10 trips so doing that for many lvls becomes a cost that keeps adding up whilst the making of the Lyres is a 1 time cost. An extra cost can also be if you can't cut the Willow and/or the Yew Logs yourself (you need like 40-45 of each Log every 1000 Planks you make) you have to buy them and then that becomes and added cost (the cost is like 15k every 1000 Planks you make for the logs you'll need). Another added cost can be to buy the Raw Bass or the Raw Sharks you need to be able to recharge the Lyres (if you make like 40 Lyres you have to recharge them every 1 Hour or so with 40 Raw Bass or 40 Raw Sharks). So if you calculate the cost of having to buy all the needed things (Willow Logs, Yew Logs Raw Bass or Raw Sharks) along with the cost of making the Lyres the total number is like this; 40k (making 40 Lyres) + 15k (total cost for buying both the needed Willow and Yew Logs to make 1000 Planks) + 10k/40k (buying the needed Raw Bass or Raw Sharks to recharge the 40 Lyres every like 1 Hour) = total of max 95k for every 1000 Planks and about 1900 Planks (40 Lyres x 2 charges per Lyre = 80 loads of planks x like 24 Planks per load = 1920 Planks per 40 Lyres you use to make Oak things). So about 120k for every 2000 Oak Planks you use. And about 175k for every 4000 Oak Planks you use. So doing the butler method is a cost of 10k (if you use the Demon Butler) every 7-10 trips for the Servant which comes to about 90k for every 2000 Oak Planks you use. And 180k for every 4000 Oak Planks you use. So around 4000 Oak Planks the none-butler method becomes cheaper and the gap of cost becomes large for every additional 2000 Oak Planks you make. So to sum it all up, if you have to buy all the stuff necessary for the none-butler method that method becomes cheaper after about 4000 Oak Planks you use compared to the butler method. If you don't have to buy all the stuff the none-butler method becomes more cheaper alot sooner than at 4000 Oak Planks. If you have the enchanted Ring of Charos and are able to catch your own Raw Bass, cut your own Willow and Yew Logs, the none-butler method becomes cheaper than the butler method already from like 500 Oak Planks thou you only then have to pay the cost to make the Lyres which is a 1 time cost of 1k per Lyre. So if you are able to get all the needed stuff yourself then you only have to pay a once-time cost of 1k per Lyre and lvl up Construction can't become any cheaper than that except sticking to making things that you can make yourself like Limestone Bricks, Steel Bars and Soft Clays.
  20. I also red your guide and changed the pattern I set up my traps in to the way you've shown. Before I always lay my traps in the west/east-pattern. And now with the use of your pattern I have almost trippled the amount of catches per hour as I've timed and calculated it over some hours of training. So I'm very postive to this guide and I'll rate it high and I've found a new interest in training Hunting (lvl 70 now). So thanks mate :D
  21. I managed to get through now after just 5 min of trying and caught the rest of the rats. So thanks, really, MANY thanks! So to all others out there that get stuck on this part of the quest and don't know what to do and decides to look at forums for the answers and searches and then finds this thread - 1. Make your way to the bedroom without a rat in it. 2. Wait in that bedroom until BOTH guards are out on the "balcony" at the same time (may take "a while") before you make your run for the none-bedroom room with rats (the room with a stair down, not the room in the middle with 2 big stairs down).
  22. Thanks for the tips everybody! I've done a more detailed and informative pic of how I tried to move to get to the red dot; When the guard to the left walks southwards around the stairs (shown with a black line in pic) and guard to the right still is by the stairs I do the move to the wall in the first inner room (movement shown by the red line and the 2nd hideout-spot is the white dot at the end of the red line by the wall). This goes well until I have to make a run for the red dot (the mouse is in there). Then the leftside guard sees me when I make a run for the red dot coming into the room with the stairs (even if he's turned his eyes in the other direction, weird I know) or the rightside guard have moved into the first room again and spots me hiding by the wall. So that way doesn't work either way. So I have to first run and hide in one of the bedrooms (preferably the one to the left in the pic) and then wait until BOTH guards are out on the balcony (or what u call it, the area outside with a table and some chairs) ? I tried different alternatives from the movement described above for like 2 hours or so but I never saw BOTH guards outside on the balcony, so is that what you ppl say I have to wait for to happen?
  23. I'm also at that exact spot too..... The green dot is the rat I have caught and I'm the white dot with a red ring around it, the yellow dots are the guards inside the mansion. So can anyone show in a picture where the guards have to be when I make a run for it to the red dot, and where I have to stand when to make the run? That would be very helpful as I'm really annoyed with this now as I've spent several hours at just this particular spot. So please, use my image, or any other to show where I should stand and where the guards should be when I make a run for it.
  24. I'm also doing Construction right now and my goal is to get from lvl 52 to lvl 67 (to be able to construct a Mahogany Eagle Lectern in my Study room to be able to create House Teleport Tablets). And doing this has made me research for the best/fastet/most cost-efficient method to reach my goal. The tips given here in this thread before my tips are good but I think I can add some other ideas to reaching your goal. If you want to save money you can lvl up fast even without using a servant which this guide tells you how; http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=526281 The only thing you have to pay for except the cost to make the acctual Oak Planks is the 1k per golden string you have to pay the troll for making the Lyres, so a total of like 30-40k extra added to the cost of 250 gp per Oak Plank. 25. I post this post here instead becasue I don't seem to get any answers to these question in the thread about the Tower of Life quest in the Player-Made Guides section. So I hope someone here can answer them here instead then so here goes; So those creature creation altars are only there to make it faster to get 2nd ingredients for Herblore potions as u kill the created creatures they drop multiple of the kind of 2nd you put in (along with another item like cowhide or feather) ? As others have asked, what difference does it make if u choose to overwhelm the homonuclus (or whatever its' called ) with either Magic or Logic? I also saw that message u get about doing the "Beckon" emote while wearing a buildersÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâôpiece of clothing so when should u do that and what does it do - does it change the preformance of the "Beckon" emote or something else? Do all the different kinds of satchels hold the same items and the same amount of the items? Because I have a Rune Satchel and want to know if it's "better" than the other kind of satchels you can get because "Rune" items tend to be the best kind of any item or equipment.
