  1. At this rate we are headed for a top 5 pick. In other news: http://www.montrealgazette.com/sports/Wilson+watch+highlighted+sixth+straight+Leafs+loss/6230979/story.html
  2. [spoiler=Patch Notes] This is also part of the squeal of fortune update, yet all these aren't related to squeal of fortune.
  3. What I think the OP meant was the squeal update came with some unrelated patch notes which could have caused the bug. I don't think anyone thinks squeal has any relation with this bug.
  4. Nope the specific method they did for it was very useful for lots of stuff I will be very sad to see it go Where was it implied that it was due to Squeal of Fortune?
  5. Unless they applied some special circumstances to these items (highly doubt it), you will always have the item and will be able to use it as soon as you get members. It won't ever disappear. For example, if you are a member and have loads of members items and then fall back to F2P, your members items will never disappear. They will always be available in your bank. You just can't use them until you get members. I think they might have meant items won in the lottery which are members only. Yeah I know :P Although I did misunderstand the situation slightly. For some reason I thought you could claim members items you won, just not use them. But it looks like you can't even claim them until you get members? I didn't totally realize that and thought he meant he would claim a members item but wondered if it would disappear if he didn't get members. You have to subscribe to claim the item. (Huuuge dick move with obvious intentions of forcing subscriptions.) but if you do not claim it, it will be there the next day... BUT you can't take your next spins until you claim or discard it. So get stuck with one decent members item and you can't spin again unless you get members to claim it, or throw it away. (Would personally frustrate me with something like claws. Sure they're good, but i dunno if i wanna subscribe to get them, ely on the other hand is definitely gonna make me sub. That is much better though, you can just leave the item lying there till you resubscribe. Considering how rare these items are, it isn't worth discarding for extra rolls.
  6. This would be the exact reason why you don;t win the item you win a 'lucky' version. It highlights that you did not earn it the normal way. Plus all these items are in the rare slots, lots of people have seen them on their spins but almost no-one has actually got them so far, it's not like everyone's gonna get full bandos with an SGS just by playing the wheel for a week. People are criticizing the idea behind the update rather the possibility of this being a viable method to obtain items. The whole point is, the best items in the game should not be available like this.
  7. Consider doing GOP for Runecrafting experience. If you can learn how to play, it will be a good source of experience, fun as well money. Good luck with maxing out, I can totally see you get it seeing how committed you are.
  8. Just a question if you win a divine, but do not subscribe, does it count as a discard? Edit: Or can you save it and subscribe at a later date and still pick it up?
  9. That lucky ags looks awesome. Edit: I still hate the update :P
  10. So far my winnings from multiple accounts: 10k 50 gp small lamp (any skill) small lamp(crafting) Steel Scimitar 50 gp
  11. Millions of people play the lottery each week here in the UK but it isn't messing up the economy. This hasn't created mass unemployment because of everybody having wealth. The same is going to be true in Runescape. The chances of these items is so incredibly low that it is very unlikely they will have any sort of effect on the economy. Your one set of D claws won't be an excess of the item on the market if you attain them once in 5 months for example. Even over thousands of players, it shouldn't have much effect. The rarity is proven by the lack of posts on here of the rare and valuable items. So far I've seen only two pictures of these items, neither actually acquired by this community. It does not make sense to put one of the best items in the game in a divine available to players on a lucky roll. BAD ANALOGY DANZ. OMG so illogical. You see, if there is a 50 million euro/ound/dollar prize, there is probably 75-100m being spent. Some of that money goes to pay to run the lottery etc. Some goes into the business's/gov'ts bank. Terrible analogy. here its just FREE GOLD/items MAGICALLY appearing for nothing. Need I go on? I hope not because im off to play a game of league. @Lactose, its germane to the conversation. That part doesn't matter at all though. The point is that even when millions do something of chance, it doesn't mean the reward is common. The same goes for this update. Just because there are thousands of players, does not mean the rewards will be anything more than ultra rare, therefore having a negligible if any effect on the markets. Hell, I could go to an extreme and say that the time lost by doing the spins and not boss hunting will have more of an effect on the amount of items coming in to the game. 10,000 boss hunters spend 10 seconds/day not boss hunting, think of the effects! Ok I'm being extreme here, but it's quite simple as long as the rarity is high enough, which evidence shown by the lack of posts here on the forums showcasing rare rewards. [/hide]This is hardly evidence of anything, I don't think we can comment on the rarity of an item without a lot more tests. Regardless though, how do you not see a problem in all this? The best items in the game available at a spin of a roll. It simply does not make sense... at all... All these items are already available "at a spin of a roll" ever since their creation. These are all random drops anyway; just giving us one or two small chances of getting them per day isn't going to have much of an impact on their availability. Sure, killing the boss monsters requires skill, high levels, and effort, but I guarantee you the Wheel's chance of giving out these items are extraordinarily slim. Just because it looks like the Wheel stopped "right next" to a rare item doesn't mean much of anything. The visual effects are just for show, they tend to give the illusion that you were sooo close to getting that Godsword when the chances of that happening are likely one in a thousand. That hardly addresses my point. Regardless of how rare these items maybe (which no one has an accurate rate for, and it is all speculation at this point), the availabillity of these items via a lottery type system makes no sense. You are right that the drop rates of these items are also at a spin of a roll but you still have to gear up, go to Corp and kill it in order to get the item. The best items in the game should not available like this and that is my point.

  14. Your points seem to contradict each other. If you can't trade any of the items worth over 100k, and they cannot be attained through death by others, where exactly is the "vast" effect on the economy? Especially considering how incredibly rare they seem to be. Vast effect because these untradable items will now be making their way into the game as well making the untradable version less desirable for those who own these items. Does it really make sense that a divine should be available to players with these lucky rolls? This is a stupid update.
  15. Use them all when you have a significant summoning goal in sight like 88/95/96.
  16. There are quite a number of activities a low level player can do to get money. Herb Farming is a big one, has low requirements and you can do as many runs as you can depending on how much you play. Dailies such as MTK, buying broad arrowheads/ bolts from any summoning master, Arhein etc. I believe someone had a nice guide to get to all places. Tanning hides, depending on prices you can make a fair amount of money. The gnome delivery minigame I have heard is profitable but I have never actually been there. Great Orb Project is a steady 400k per hour in f2p with the only requirement being 50 Runecrafting. You can also use spare cash to buy battlestaffs from Naff as well battlestaffs from GE, people will pay a decent price for them on the forums(You can probably classify this under merchanting but there is no risk, you can almost treat this like a daily). Again you just have to find a moneymaker you enjoy even if it may be less profitable than dragons or whatever else has been mentioned in this thread. I have 95 Prayer and 98 Herblore and I did it without MHing any of the funds required to get them.
  17. Banned because I am in a bad mood and haven't slept all night.
  18. Remember to have your quick prayer on turmoil so you dont have to access the prayer screen as well as the magic screen (to turn off auto cast).
  19. I remember once with my card had a similar problem, I kept getting error processing. After checking my account though I saw that I have been credited for 30 days. Check your account, see if the membership has already gone through.
  20. Serum 207s seem to be the cheapest option but you will have to drop/empty them manually as they cannot be noted and cannot be traded.
  21. None of which addresses the points brought up by the article. :-| Nobody's asking for something as good for moneymaking as Glacors, they're asking for skill rewards and training methods that aren't garbage. Look at herblore: Yes, you can make many of the potions that you'd need, but it's almost always cheaper to just sell the herb and buy potions, and training is ridiculously expensive because high/elite levels are doing the same thing with the same methods. It doesn't help that mid-level players have to compete with either high levels or bots for most of the good moneymaking methods available to them, making the process even more tedious (You could kill dragons, but the botting issue there is fairly well-documented, or you could kill DKs [Which I was able to do at around level 90], but good luck doing so when you have to compete with a player that has 40-50 combat levels on you and the best gear money can buy). I wasn't discussing the article, I was simply mentioning that there is enough "quality" mid level content. There are many other ways to make money beside dragons and DKs. If you find the best methods of money making methods far too crowded, there are alternatives. They may not be as good but they are still good enough. For example I did Runecrafting for most of my money, it wasn't the best money maker but it did fund 95 prayer and 98 herblore for me.
  22. Instead of repeating yourself, would you mind actually listing some quality mid-level content? I'll be waiting over here. Temple Trekking Great Orb project Artisan's Workshop Barbarian Assault Conquest Gnome Delivery Mage Training Arena Pest Control Pyramid Plunder Soul Wars Stealing Creation All of these are quality mid level content, and I just went through all minigames to get these. If you are finding a lack of mid level content then you obviously have not looked very hard. Just because Gnome Delivery may not be as good of a money earner as glacors doesn't mean its bad. If you expect to earn 4mil/hr at mid levels then I am sorry but no one can help you. There is an abundance of mid level/low level content but people's standards are a lot higher than 800k/hr. I personally spent hundreds of hours at Great Orb Project while earning mediocre cash but I did it because I enjoyed it and I still play the minigame. If I look outside of minigames, there are quite a lot of quests that are geared towards mid levels. You decide what is worth doing and what is not. Just because a minigame has been abandoned by some does not mean you should not try it.
  23. I agree with this, Jagex have just in the past few years started adding high level content to the game. There already is a lot of content that mid levels have access to. I also disagree that Deadliest Catch had high requirements, 70 fishing is not a high level requirement.
  24. FFDN has moved to a clan chat instead I believe. They lost a lot of their popularity with the release of effigies, so i am not sure if anyone frequents. Its a shame because FFDN used to provide such a nice service with benefits for both crafters and runners. I believe when I got 99 rc, it used to take 15min to max out assist experience depending on amount of crafters and the time you went there. Essentially what people would do was start of their timer and wait till there was a call for crafters. With the release of effigies though, there were no more crafters as it was much easier to just assist effigies. I really loved FFDN, I used to frequent their chat even if I wasn't assisting because the community was pretty nice. Maybe with the effigy nerf, they can possibly get it going again.
