Runescape Permadeath Server
I like games with permadeath - knowing that just one little mistake can make me lose hours of work makes for a very interesting game experience. However, it doesn't really work if the game isn't planned around permadeath. There is so much content in RS which requires hundreds or thousands of hours of playing to access. It would be very hard to get even rune items if it was PvP everywhere.

Runar vs Nomad, part 1: I managed to get a few specs with ruby bolts, got Nomad to about half health before dying. Runar vs Nomad, part 2: Got him to 1/4 health with kyatt spamming and ruby bolt specs, he healed, got him to 1/4 health again, he went into berserk mode, I panicked and hit two mines while he was attacking. Died with food left Runar vs Nomad, part 3: Really unlucky, didn't get a single spec with ruby bolts, died when he had about half health left. Part 4 tomorrow

The Runar's DIY blog — OSRS ultimate ironman
And HUGE thanks to the awesome people who have got me 30k views without a single update :3 I'm now in the top 5 most viewed blogs of Blogscape! I've been busy with school and other stuff lately, so I haven't had much time to play. I was also getting a bit bored of RS after playing it for months, but maybe I'll do a comeback now :)

The Runar's DIY blog — OSRS ultimate ironman
So last night I tried killing KQ in beta. It was quite fun, there were a few other players too. It's really easy though. And today... first I completed another quest: I obviously got the free elite clue and the reward was great. Ancient coif (good for places where I don't want to risk robin), some nice potions and AMULET OF GLORY!!! Then I got 67 construction and with the help of the crystal saw and stews built a gilded altar. Ectofuntus is more xp but it's insanely boring and it's probably faster to just collect some extra bones instead of ectogrinding. The only downside of the gilded altar is that it costs ~1.2m, which means I have barely any money left :( Finally I trained smithing a bit. I'm going to get at least 66 before Love Story (68 construction and smithing are needed, but both can be boosted). I also played a round of Castle Wars in beta to unlock the first piece of the beta outfit. It's complete chaos now, I had no idea what I was doing half of the time and usually I got killed before I had enough adrenaline for even thresholds.

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
Runite bolts or enchanted bolts up to sapphire I think. Unenchanted ruby bolts also work. Jagex explained how the system works. You need level 60 crossbow for enchanted ruby bolts and level 70 for enchanted diamond bolts. They're adding more crossbows in the future.

I remembered that I still have some charge left in my mad necklace so I decided to use it on construction: Which allowed me to do a quest: Only 10 quests left now! Tomorrow I'm going to do Do No Evil and as soon as I get the levels required for them, Blood Runs Deep and Within the Light.
