Just saying, the most powerful recorded earthquake ever was 9.5. 12.3 is 645 times more powerful, and would probably destroy the world via tsunamis. EDIT: Looked it up, a magnitude 12 earthquake would be equivalent to a 7 mile asteroid hitting earth, in other words more than the one that wiped out the dinosaurs. Some sources say a earthquake with a magnitude of 12 could literally split the earth. Also, let's keep this interesting. The 9,000 troops of the Brazilian Rapid Response team have landed in the Colombian territory, and will attempt to keep the peace. Any exosuits will be easily disposed of by them. Project Future Stage One is complete. Project Last Chance, and Nanocoat are complete. The super-solar plant is complete.

I was under the impression that you knocked those out of orbit. And they would still be under Chinese control if you didn't.
-
Retech is out of the game. And his goal wasn't to kill the world, just you 3. Retech got banned by Sere anyway. Either way, one nice thing about being biologically attacked vs. bombed is all infrastructure and wealth remains essentially intact.
-
Ok, how about this. Turkey, Australia, Italy, Guinea, and Libya lose 65% of their population. Syria, Iraq, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Greece, Bulgaria, France, Austria, Croatia, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisa, Niger, Chad, Sudan, Indonesia, Japan, and Korea loses 50% of their population The rest of Europe loses 30%, and the rest of Asia, and Northern Africa loses 20%. 65% is crippling, I know, but not so much that you can't recover.

Yeah, Im still fairly poor per capita compared to just about every other country. Well, its going up, but still. My military isnt that strong, though its probably stronger than everyone else right now, if we go by this. Fine, how about 60%, 50%, 40% on the system I said before. That's not that bad.
-
Lets just use my suggestion. 75% in the targeted countries, 60% in the connected countries, and 40% for anything else within 300 miles.
-
You bombed Japan, and he had just planned on destroying you and those that also attacked him. But apparently Anthrax is magical. I vote Madagascar was completely untouched, as the president closed the borders upon hearing of a man sneezing.
-
Not really, -40c would kill everything within a week. How about we just say the Japanese revolt against the government, and are now in the situation as the rest of Eurasia. By the way, what happened to Africa? Specifically southern africa.
-
So it's now -40 degrees f/c ( I think that's the one temperature that's the same.) How about not. And RFG's wouldn't do that anyway.
-
I don't think he ever let the UN in, and then the UN went defunct, and the U3 had no real rules as of yet.
-
He was only planning on getting you, Italy, and Aussie. Heres what I suggest. It was a legitimate attack, but maybe the effects were a bit exaggerated. Turkey, Italy, and Australia lose 75%. Surrounding countries lose up to 60%, then anything after that within 300 miles loses up to 40%.

The vaccine is being tested, and if it is found to have no ill affects it will be distributed to the public. It is being tested on one of the most isolated islands in the world, for safety.

Suggestion for gameplay: make all the survivors in Eurasia and Africa immune to Anthrax now, and say that the small percent that survived were mostly because of lucky pre-existing immunities or or rapid buildup of immunities. Oh, and what happened to southern Africa? Also I would imagine that some parts of China were unaffected, since they have a lot of isolated population that grow their own food, and since they weren't bombed directly. Assuming South African areas were mostly unaffected, Brazilian relief workers equipped with the most advanced NBC suits and accessories possible are setting up refugee camps, and non perishables will be imported from the Americas (by plane, and then dropped by parachute to avoid contagens reaching the Americas, then the planes would be excessively decontaminated for good measure. Works on a vaccine for this version of Anthrax are in the works, if it's possible. Oh, and Project A was completed this year, it is a working, and somewhat cheap permanent suppressive of AIDS. It was found an all and out cure was impossible, it makes AIDS completely harmless, This will be distributed to survivors in Africa, along with the product of Project M, an actual cure for Malaria. Retech, lets see how post apocalyptica goes.

Ah I figured. Fortunately given the way it works, the only thing that would be damaged from flooding would be the first gate, or possibly the second, so repairs wouldn't be too pricey. Also, levees are being built or improved in major cities, and emergency protocols are being made and taught to citizens in the event of flooding, so we don't have people running around crazy without any idea what to do. Several, isolated, government sponsored farms are trying out GMO's in order to figure out how much use they will be in preventing starvation. Project Nanocoat will be complete next turn.

It's already pretty good, but I guess putting some reinforcements on it wouldn't hurt. And fixing up the older one too. Improvements will start now.

A few years back, yeah.

Map updated with Brazilian changes that I never got around to adding to the map, or were discarded when I did (due to the number of maps floating around). [hide][/hide] As much of the Brazilian Navy is being put into dry docks, or into calmer areas of the ocean as possible, and a good chunk of the aircraft from the carriers are being put onto land.

Well, I'll accept the food one as a problem, as that's the only one that I can really see being a major problem. Fallout wouldn't be a problem 15 years later from deconstructing nuclear weapons. It's not like we're detonating them, and that'd only really be an issue for the US, China, UK, France, and Russia. The ozone layer would mostly be an issue for Japan, as that's where most of it is hitting. I think farms will have adapted to not advancing over the newly destroyed forests over the past 15 years, so I'll say that it's mostly a problem of lower crop yields. For a start, we start researching alternatives to petrol fertilizers, I'll think of more later.

Why would Cancer be going up? Cold isn't a problem, it's not like people don't have heat. I have a surplus of energy anyways, given the solar roof project, not to mention the wind and solar farms, and so on. Contaminated drinking water, that's why every single city and town has health regulations and some sort of purification system. You know, like in real life. Starvation isn't as bad for me either, as we export a lot of food, and even if we lose some for some random disease, we still probably have enough. I don't think that accounts for 11 million deaths in a year. The world wouldn't start decreasing at over 1% per year for a long time.
-
Well, I've been meaning on making a longer post about how it happened, but Brazil controls Angola at this point, it's been over 5 years (not days). So that helps. GDP Growth rate is down to 2.8% Oh, and that growth rate thing is ridiculous for population. That means, for example, my death rate went from about 8/1000 annually to around 26/1000 annually, which is as bad as some of the worst modern day African Countries. Hell, most of the african nations in real life have significantly lower death rates than that.

Of course actually building those will take far more money than you'll get back in the next 1,000 years.

How about this, the number of doctors/hospital goes from 30 to 29. People have to occasionally wait in the ER for a few minutes more. Can we give Retech a break? We get it. He took over Indonesia, and South Korea. Ross, you also wanted Indonesia, you just didn't get it first, and then he gave you part of his land. Rocco, you and Retech just have a mutual feud I guess. Dungeonal, not sure why you even were involved, but I might have missed something. Archi, I know you're the moderator, but considering you have a country that once paid (not sure about now) paid people in buttons, with no noticeable downsides, I think you need to give him a break.
-
Plus I sent over 20,000 relief workers and troops, which helped immediately after the attack.
-
But that still doesn't mean hospitals are closing.

The difference is you can only pack something so tight. When you squeeze something, in general you're not making the pure material denser, your just removing, for example, air. So when you squeeze a sponge, your not making the material that makes up the sponge denser, you're just taking the air out.
