Okay. First, you need a station. We'll say it takes 15 years to build on land, and 1 trillion dollars. That station gives 200 production points. With those production points you can build ships, or other production stations. It takes 20 years for a production station to build another one, on it's own (4000 production points needed, 200 per turn), but it costs way less than building it on land. It takes 40 years to build a mobile production station (one that could move to a different system than the one it was build on). One production station can do the following per turn: 20 battleships or 200 fighters or 40 escorts or 2 Heavy Battleships Or some combination (1 heavy battleship, 5 battleships, 8 escorts, 20 fighters) For example. Or, it can work on a longer term project, like a super battleship. A single station would take 5 years to build a super battleship. EDIT: Ross, production points are in general 1/10th of their value in a fight (A fighter is worth 10 in a fight, so 1 production point). Here is the full list of values for fights:
-
Price is kinda relative these days. I have no idea. A few hundred billion to a trillion probably. Ross, what do you mean? The basic production points are: Fighter=1 Escort=5 Battleship=10 Heavy Battleship=100 Super Battleship=1000 Ultra Heavy=2000
-
Each production station give 200 base points. Ross, you'd probably get around 25% extra due to various researchs and your race. So you'd get 250 per. Hmm, in 100 years, if I spent the next 50 on production stations, I could have: 500 Ultra Battleships 1000 Super Battleships and 520 Heavy Battleships. Heh

We need to get a system down for production station building. Ok, this is it as of now: One station= 5,000 production points. 25 years if being build by a single production station. One ship that can deploy into a station= 10,000 points. 50 years by a single station, but allows better colony growth. On land, we'll say it takes a minimum of 15 years to build, but at huge cost. EDIT: Dusty, this is what Norway will have. Unless indy comes back and wants whatever I missed. http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/2329/norway.png

The link's broken. By the way, Malaysia has claim to New Zealand or whatever. Bleh, I can't figure E-snips out. It works when I'm signed in, even though that's the url I'm supposed to use to share I think.
-
Dusty, I think this is how Norway's land was pre-war. Would this be okay? http://www.esnips.com/doc/0e55afbe-2ad0-42ec-b999-b25346c9cdfa/map2

I think you would have the most recent map, can you post it? http://www.esnips.com/doc/ad1af753-4888-405b-b906-3137903dc01f/map2 Could I put Norway back as Norway's? Since I guess it was conquered.

I think you would have the most recent map, can you post it?

Mine is either: 1 Dreadnought (unique capital ship) 26 Battleships or: 5 Ultras, 260 fighters or 10 supers, 26 battleships or 2 ultras, 5 supers, 12 heavies, 6 battleships. Or any combination.
-
Isn't it great  So other than the fleet I'm sending to Yena, (2470 Fighters 22 Battleships 10 Heavy Battleships 3 Super Heavy Battleships 3 Ultra Heavy Battleships 30 Escorts 50 Transports ) My armada is all at Alpha Centauri.
-
So, here are it's uses so far: Symbol of Wealth Laser Focuser (increases efficiency and power?) Necessary for large scale alchemy. Speeds up warp. (We'll say it also doubles the speed in warp, so you're going 100ly/y instead of 50.) Can be turned into a bomb. Anything else?
-
Oh, more than one person can mine a planet. They just need to share the resources a bit. So it could be split 100kg/100kg, or some other deal could be made.
-
Alright, here's another thing it can be used for, as a bomb. 5,000 kg of it (25 days worth with a 200kg planet) can be converted into a bomb weighing 50 kg, with a 1 gigaton of tnt yield.
-
We'll say it's not toxic, but it's somewhat delicate. Can anyone think of some other uses for it, other than alchemy and faster warps? Edit: you have a point retech. The fleet heading to trad is canceled. My other fleet heading to the planet that produces 400kg is: 2470 Fighters 22 Battleships 10 Heavy Battleships 3 Super Heavy Battleships 3 Ultra Heavy Battleships 30 Escorts 50 Transports

Pm Sent, archi. I hope that's all the info you need.

System is: 1 speed up, 1 speed down, then around .02 per light year. Ok, here's the updated solar map. There are probably some newer solar systems not on here, I just took the map from the front page and added on the new systems. http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/7951/solarmap.png Here's a map with the new places circled. http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/8480/magical.png Archi, I'll have to calculate how far they are from Alpha centauri, so it'll be a few minutes. All this being said, 1 /10th of my fleet is heading to Trad, and 1/10th to Yare

I just meant that due to the volcanic eruption most animal life on land was wiped out, leaving only sea creatures pretty much. Tea has the least amount of land, and thus largest oceans, so it's considered aquatic. I'll work all that out later. And I think I have it under control kirby, but thanks for the offer.
-
Tea. No ships are sent yet, I'm working out all they systems. Oh, they will each be the only planet in their system.
-
Only one is a volcanic planet, Mepha. One just had a volcanic eruption, and all that means is it's incredibly fertile, but there is not much animal life. Oh, and one of them is an Aquatic, it's the one with just three little islands, and then ocean.
-
Haven't sorted that all out yet. Actually 100 tonnes is way too low. I'll fix that. We'll say without the material you could produce a maximum of 400 tonnes of gold a year through alchemy. Earth puts out ~500 tonnes. I think. You cannot claim a planet. Well, you can, but it doesn't matter, atleast to me.
-
What do you use them for? Ok, I haven't done the systems they're in yet, but here are the 6 planets that will have the new material on them. 1: Planet Neva: http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/8338/neva.png Discovered in early 2111 by a unmanned drone Neva was found to be a possible target for colonization, due to it's Earthlike atmosphere and size. However, after the initial scan a strange signal was picked up. Further investigation found that there was a previously undiscovered material hidden just under the planet's surface, in one specific area. A team was sent to investigate, but were then called off once the war broke out, and no other teams have been sent. 2: Planet Set: http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/6922/setf.png In 2120 a cargo ship passed this planet, and detected an unusual signal. They later reported it to the central government, and the signal was found to match the one found on Neva, indicating that the element may be found here as well. All we know about planet Set is it is significantly cooler than Earth, (average temperature is 10f less), but the atmosphere is essentially identical. 3: Planet Trad: http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/5686/trad.png This oddly organized planet was discovered in 2124. It is believe that a large volcanic eruption several hundred or thousand years in the planet's past lead to the odd arrangement of continents, and that previously the planet had had one large continent. Due to the volcanic soil, this planet is incredibly fertile, however there is next to no animal life, as most is believe to have gone extinct after the eruption, the exception being deep sea creatures. A probe was sent down to the planet from a passing battleship, and it found that in the oceans there were large "monsters" similar to those of ancient human mythology. It also noted an irregular signal, which several years later, was identified to be identical to the ones found on Set, and Neva. 4: Planet Mepha: http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/8786/mepha.png In 2130, a escort ship suffered an unexplained power failure, and crash landed onto this inhospitable planet. It was found to have average temperatures over 100 Fahrenheit, making it unsuitable for habitation by humans. In the garbled messages sent out by the crashed team, and irregular signal was detected, and later found to be the same as the one found on the previous 3 planets. (This planet is considered a minor volcanic. It's atmosphere is unsuitable for breathing for long periods of time, after a week a human will get sick without some sort of breathing apparatus or filter.) 5: Planet Tea: http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/210/teav.png Admiral Seta of the Brazilian Armada discovered this planet in late 2134, after detecting what he believed to be a distress signal on his long range scanners. Several rescue ships were dispatched to the planet's surface, though no traces of humans or other sentient beings were found. One soldier did bring back an odd rock, weighing around 1kg. He claimed he had found it at the exact location the signal was being received from. Seta took the rock back to to his home port in Alpha Centauri for analysis. 6: Planet Yare: http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/8243/yare.png Researchers found this planet only after analyzing the material found on Planet Tea. In late 2035 they organized a scouting team to search the planet. The signal found on all the other planets was even more prevalent here. However, the researchers found that the planet was covered with what humans would consider dinosaurs, so the unarmed research team had to retreat, for fear of being slaughtered. Ok, now more about the Material. Each of the planets, assuming you control the spot where the material is found (marked with an X) gives you 200kg a year, with the exception of Yare, which gives you 400kg a year. Here's what it can do. 1kg: 10kg: 50kg: Put into a single ship's warp system, and permanently make it so that the ship takes only half a year to speed up, and half to slow down. So it means it can travel anywhere withing 50 lightyears in a year. 100kg: Can be used in an element creator (or whatever the hell they're called) to create 5,000 tons of metal. However, it can only create basic elements. 200kg: 500kg: 1000kg: 10000kg: Anyone have any suggestions for the other amounts and what it can do? Also, if someone were to control all 6 planets they would get 1400kg a year.
-
If you'll read what I said on the original post with the idea, you'll have a choice. You can either keep it, and only produce small amounts of whatever, or you can pretend you never had it and get another research of around equal value (something that would take maybe 20 years to research),
-
And what about them?
-
Well, the material will be the only way to do certain things.
