  1. I also added a ship to that, that currently is a unique ship for my empire. The Dreadnought, it's worth 100,000 (10,000 production points). I researched it a while back. EDIT: Unless anyone has anymore complaints or suggestions, I'll set up the new material on random planets, and map those planets, marking the location.
  2. Yep ^ And I usually say "I'm gonna produce X ship for the next 5 years" and go with that.
  3. Can someone link me to the trial of the program? I forgot to download it before.
  4. Cause it's not like if you see someone spawn you're gonna ignore them, it's a free kill, or they'll kill you in a second anyway. It's just annoying to spawn and then suddenly someone knifes you, or you spawn on a cooked grenade.
  5. I agree, sometimes im ready to throw the controller at the screen when im 1 kill away from a nuke or some crazy thing and I get noobed or lag and die... Same, though luckily we have more than one chair, so I throw it into that. :P It just annoys me so much when I step out of cover to move and get killed by a guy who's just spawned. <_< Or spawning and dying instantly.

    Suicide

If you've ever known someone who's suicidal for a good reason, or been in that situation I don't think you'd have the same opinion on it being cowardly. My dad knew a guy who tried to kill himself, his wife and kids died in a car accident, he was put in a wheelchair. I forget what his job was, but it required physical work so he lost his job as well. I just don't think the guy really had anything more to live for at that point.
  7. Mather, I think the best way I could explain it is like this. A wall will hold atmosphere in. Doesn't mean the wall is invulnerable. Hell, a plastic bag will hold the internal atmosphere in.
  8. He/she has put to use the shields I sent him/her a week ago, although rocco just claims they won't work. Doom already said they won't stop my drones, just slow them down. Which is actually better for me because it reduces the chance that they'll be smashed and release the virus at the surface of the water. But thing is she's incorrect, plasma windows were created for the sole reason of blocking matter completely: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plasma_window Uh, no. Not really. That doesn't mean matter can't pass through, it makes it more difficult for it though.
  9. Retech, the best thing I can recommend for you is to use your transports and battleships and evacuate as many people as possible.
  10. Speaking of the Brazilian Fleet, all of it that was produced as of the 17th has arrive in Alpha Centauri.
  11. Random Event: The Brazilian fleet decides to kill both Rocco, Mather, and Retech. Bummer.
  12. Oh. I'll throw some researchers onto improving Dusty's immune system improving biotics. This way I'll be way less at risk to disease.
  13. Explain to Retech why suits cannot work indefinitely and require filter changes. That's besides the point, how will his people eat? They can't be in a suit 24/7
  14. Mather, we've told you dozens of times. 1: PLASMA WINDOWS ARE NOT IMPENETRABLE. All they do is slow stuff down, making railguns and the like somewhat less effective. 2: A nuclear power plant wouldn't come close to powering a shield bigger than a house. Even that is pushing it.

    Suicide

God you just opened a [developmentally delayed]edly large can of worms. I hate when people bring up Abortion in a suicide discussion. He didn't even make any parallels to suicide. His entire post was just "ABORTION RAWR".
  16. No. Depends on the girl. Saying personality is always more important is like saying the only thing that all men care about in relationships is sex. That being said, for most people personality is important. I wouldn't date an [wagon], but I'd be more likely to date a really good looking guy who was kind of a jerk than a hideous one. Call it shallow, but it's the truth. The reason why most people are ugly is because of things they can change. Bad skin, weight, lack of muscles, hair, all things that can be changed. Sure, some people at the base are more attractive than others, but anyone can look good if they put effort into it. You'd be surprised, a lot of girls like shyer guys (especially those who are naturally good looking), but still, you have a point. So what I'm saying is that looks matter. To some more than others. Personality is important, very important, but looks are as well. I'm just being honest with this.
  17. I just made random maps using ms paint. I basically just scribbled out the shapes I wanted for continents with the pencil tool, then made it look nice and not terrible on photoshop.
  18. He's currently being held in cryogenic sleep for an indefinite amount of time. But... But.... It's Thanksgiving! :( Actually me and Dusty had some special plans for him originally. But now that the war is over, he'll remain alive-ish.
  19. He's currently being held in cryogenic sleep for an indefinite amount of time.
  20. Doom did, therefore I can. Unless you want Doom to remove her 10 day away system and the fleet she built there. That was based on a real star. So yeah.
  21. Assassin's creed, though repetitive did deserve a spot I think. I don't really get these lists. What makes the 140th game worse than the 139th, for example (I just made a just random selection there).
  22. Hey, me attacking Earth was not a random disaster[/Joke] Yeah, I do that. Does anyone have a list of disasters? I had a whole system set up before. I'll go find it in the depths of my computer. EDIT: I can't find it, it must have been on my laptop which is now dead. But here is the gist of it. I had a list of all the empires. Each was given a number (If there were 8 total players, they would each get a number 1-8). There were three "random event" categories. The first were localized disasters, things like hurricanes, earthquakes, rioting, food shortages, minor epidemics (think h1n1, but not as bad as spanish influenza), electrical failure, and so on. The second were global disasters. Things like temperature changes, pandemics, major pandemics, massive increases in piracy of ships and so on. Then there were Empire Bonuses/anti-bonuses. An empire would be randomly chosen to get one of the following benefits: 5% gdp increase, 5% gdp decrease, 5 year research bonus, lose 3 years on a research, Increase production by 50% for a year, decrease it by 50% a year and so on.
  23. I don't remember what exactly they're called, but what I'm against are things that: Take some useless material (Scrap rock) and turn it into something needed (tungsten, gold, diamonds, steel, etc) with no cost. Hex you're banned from this thread as of now. Any posts you make here will be ignored.
  24. This isn't about physics, it's about keeping the game interesting. I didn't mention anything about scientific plausibility, or physics or anything in what I was talking about. My reasoning is that matter compilers, or whatever you call them devalue everything, make trade pointless, make mining pointless, make wars unnecessary, and generally make the game [cabbage]ty. The basis of my idea is this: There's a substance that there's a limited amount of, that allows people to do things that would normally be overpowered. Everyone wants it, but there's not enough to go around.
