  1. "Well you look like you're in a hurry." Armaneth observed as Kumlekar almost bowled him down. "What's got you worked up then?" "There's a very strange gathering down there..." the half elf started and began relating all the details to the Guardian. Armaneth nodded at certain points, then told Kumlekar to go back to where Vandiel and Rain were while he went up to have a look himself. At the top of the hill he placed himself out of sight behind a rock and slowly twisted around to take a look. He beheld the temptress talking to the priest, who was visibly trembling with fear. Armaneth agreed with Kumlekar's earlier judgement, this woman unsettled him. She was obviously not human, and she must possess a decent amount of power to make a high priest tremble like that. The Guardian decided he needed a better look, and so he crept back behind the rock and projected his mind close to their conversation, keeping his actions secret as he did. The closer he got the worse his feelings grew. He definately did NOT like this temptress, whoever she was. Being close enough to hear, he halted his silent advance and listened. "It's been three days Charik! Are your men really that poor sighted?! I want those intruders found, NOW!" She screamed at the high priest. "Y-y-yes m-m'lady. It shall be done as you c-c-command." Charik stammered. The temptress snorted at his answer, lifted her chin, turned and walked away. For a terrible moment Armaneth thought she had glanced toward him, but then decided it was nerves. Shrugging it off, he returned to his body and went back to the group in a quiet hurry. "We have to move, now. They've been looking for us, and that woman might know where we are already." he said as he returned. Gently he tried to shake Rain from sleep. When she didn't wake, he tried a little harder. Muttering an oath, he lifted her in his arms and sped away from the camp. "We'll have to find another way back to Geilenor." They'd be travelling for a few hours, Rain still asleep in Armaneth's seemingly untiring arms, when they encountered what everyone had feared. A patrol of 6 armed priests, together with a Greater Demon, stumbled upon the group. Kumlekar and Vandiel immediately acted and slashed at the closest guards. Two priests fell with gashes in their chests. Recovering their wits, the rest of the priests attacked and the demon bellowed a challange. Steel rang on steel, and there was a grunt as Vandiel dropped another one of the priests. Armaneth gently lowered Rain to the ground, drew his sword, and leaped into the fray bellowing his own challenge. His blade sank into the shoulder of a startled priest and continued out at the hip on the opposite side. A look of dread crossed his features as his torso slid in half. Bringing the blade back up, Armaneth ran to intercept a blow directed at Kumlekars head from the greater demon. Catching the claws with his blade, he pushed them back and whipped the tip of Frostwind across the demon's hard hide chest, leaving a ribbon of red in its wake. Kumlekar dispatched his priest after trading a few more blows, and came to the aid Armaneth. Vandiel had taken care of the 6th and was now standing over Rain's unprotected form while the Guardian and the Half-elf worked on the demon. Its swings were slow and cumbersome, and its adversaries were agile. Multiple cuts riddled the demon's chest, shoulders, and face, and he bellowed his outrage at being unable to land a blow. Having had enough, Armaneth ran the demon through in the center of the chest. Its great body shuddered, and it let out a pitiful wail as it disentegrated into ash around the two fighters. Panting from exertion, Kumlekar muttered, "Let's hope we don't have to fight another one of those." Armaneth nodded and flicked his blade at the ground, all the blood sliding off, then sheathed it on his back. Once again, he lifted Rain's sleeping figure into his arms and started away again, Kumlekar complaining about not resting and Vandiel seeming deep in thought. - It's good to know that our writing is appreciatted :D
  2. Short posts ftw - "The darkness inside found a way to get lose." Armaneth said to her in a low voice. He related what had happened in the dining hall, and told her how they got to where they are now. He made mention of Vernak, and told Aming his opinion. He looked down at his hands and whispered, "We all have are dark sides Aming. I know what can happen when beings of our power succumb to that darkness." He shook his head. "Best not get into the past. You need to rest, the spell we cast can be taxing for all involved." He unclasped his cloak and bundled it up for Aming to use for a pillow, but before she lay down she asked, "What about the others from the past?" "I've been thinking about that, and current situations might prove more useful than they appear. Now, I've to go and relieve our newest member from watch. You rest." He looked over at Vandiel, who already seemed to have assumed a meditative state himself. "We'll all be needing rest for the challenges to come." With that said, he went up the hill after Kumlekar. - Dragoncmd, it be your turn!
  3. - "Hmm, those weren't there last time." Armaneth said as he gazed down at the portal area. Zamorakian mages milled about on miscellaneous errands. Some stood around the portal, which floated over an arcane pattern. The usual inhabitants were, of course, nowhere to be seen. The group had wondered why there had been less and less. "Ugh, my feet are sore, this continual red glare is giving me a headache, and those leeches are NOT good eats." Kumlekar complained. "To each his own then." Armaneth replied. "We won't make it to the portal as we are. They will stop us I'm sure." He turned and headed back the way they had come, out of site of the camp. Vandiel stood and watched a second longer, then followed Armaneth with Kumlekar in tow. "Help me with this, Vandiel." Armaneth requested of the druid as he began to draw a pattern into the ground. His tracings left thin white lines on the ground that glowed with magic. Vandiel recognized it as a pattern of cleansing and bent down to help the guardian draw. When they were done, he stood on one side of the pattern, ontop of a drawn circle. Armaneth instructed Kumlekar to stand in another one and gave him the words of the incantation. Standing near the center, Armaneth reached into his robes and pulled out a perfectly round sapphire, which he set in the very center of the pattern. Standing in the last open circle, he nodded to Vandiel and Kumlekar. "It's time we freed the fourth member of our party." He said. Clasping his hands together, the guardian eyed the gemstone and began chanting. Vandiel and Kumlekar followed suite, reciting their part of the spell. The pattern flared, and the gemstone began to brighten. Inside the gem, the outline of a female figure had begun to materialize. It soon clarified itself to be the form of Aming. The pattern glowed brighter still, the chanting raised in volume. The gemstone flared bright, casting a blue illumination on the group. a crack raced down it, and the form of the Magess flowed out, expanding to her normal size while taking on a look of solidity. She was in the same state as Armaneth had captured her, kneeling and with a hand outstretched toward the Guardian. The pattern's light poured over Aming, and a darkness that enshrouded her seemed to be washed away. As the final words of the spell were spoken, the pattern dimmed and faded from existence. Aming gasped and teetered, but before she could fall over Armaneth reached down and steadied her, then gently laid her down. She was out, but wouldn't be for long. He looked over at Vandiel and Kumlekar. Both were sitting and wiping the sweat from their brows. Armaneth wiped the sweat from his own brow then gazed down at Aming. Resting as peacefully as possible, considering events. "Vernak," Armaneth called to Kumlekar. "Take some time and go watch the camp around the portal. I'll come up to relieve you in a bit." Kumlekar nodded and started back up the hill they were on. Armaneth sat down a little to Aming's right and kept a studious eye on her. - Just to get things rolling once again.
  4. An eternity it seems since last I walked these halls... Even longer since I have looked at this volume. In my late night wanderings, I find in myself the urge to once again add to the storyline... :-k Unfortunately it's 3AM and I cbarsed to do anything about it. :anxious: Maybe tomorrow...
  5. Add a curse effect? No way, that's what the Ahrim set is for. Up to 5 is still a lot. Maybe 3, but not 5.
  6. Good idea, but adding +5 to a fire wave is a bit much, since they already do 20 on their own. Maybe make it give a CHANCE to do some amount of bonus damage. It'd still use the body runes, but the bonus damage can fail like a normal spell could. But don't add 5 dmg to fire waves O.o
  7. He didn't say that EVERY server would be reset. Just a handful would be made new again(like say, 3 f2p and 2 p2p). I would do it, if I didn't find RS so boring now. People won't quit RS just because Noobex added 5 servers and said they were to be "Fresh Start" servers. It's ridiculous to even think that.
  8. Put yourself in a combat situation irl. Your opponent blocks and parries all your sword thrusts and slashes. Best thing to do is to charge him w/ your shiled in front, hope you bowl him over, and then strike the finishing move.
  9. If you can't stab/slash with your current weapon in real life, or you don't have one, shield bashing isn't a bad idea. It can throw one's opponenet off balance, knock them to the ground, etc. Shields aren't all defensive.
  10. I really like the idea. I had been wanting hotkeys for RS for a while. Only if it was gonna be assigned to the numpad you should have to hold alt for the hotkey to work. I've played a game that does it that way.
  11. The Obsidian cape IS an armoured cape, gauntlets already exist, and they don't need a dragon item that will have stats less than +10 to anything. Even if they did make metal capes, do you know how ridiculously heavy those would be? you try getting a cape made with metal platings and walking around.
  12. *ignoring above reply* |_|_|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|x|_|_|x| |_|_|x|o|_|o|x| |o|_|o|x|_|x|o| |x|_|o|x|_|o|x| |x|o|o|x|_|x|o|
  13. Great idea, I've been wanting to see that for a long time. Though I don't play anymore, put my name down.
  14. Then why are there more people playing on the free worlds than on the pay worlds? Because either they either don't have a credit/debit card, their parents won't pay/let them pay, or they don't have the extra cash to get it another way. Then there's also the reason that maybe they don't want to get members. So you think they should spend their time and money supporting people who are too cheap to pay $5 a month and don't give a damn about supporting their business. *Points at answer above* And he's right about Customer service sucking really bad. I sent 3 letters on F2P and got the same auto-msg saying to get members. And then when I got members they were too stupid to answer it, and simply sent back a letter telling me I should be more clear with my queries. From a business standpoint Jagex is going in the right direction to get people to pay, but it ain't as good as they make it out to be.

  16. Yes, you may add a profile, but you'll have to wait to post an addition to the story.
  17. I dunno what you're talking about o_O ~ The spell didn't have a chance to finish. Suddenly everything of Rain's world slowed and halted. Armaneth had frozen her in time, drawing power from the world energy nexus. The lighting in the room flickered a bit, then returned to normal. Vandiel just stared at her, then looked at Armaneth. "What happened just then?" he asked. "I don't know, but it's not good. I've put her into a form of stasis. We've been here long enough, it's time to return." Armaneth said as he pulled a sapphire out of his robes. Holding it towards Rain, he uttered words under his breath. The Guardian Magess' figure wavered, turned blue, and was then sucked into the gem. "She's fine, come with me." The two left the common room and went down a long dark hallway hidden behind the large fireplace in the main hall. Eventually they came a large metal door, which Armaneth unlocked using a key seemingly made of ice. When he pushed the door open, Vandiel could only stare into the huge Cavern. A huge circle of stone hovered in the middle of the room, held down by massive chains. Runes carved into its shadow on the floor glowed with a pale blue light. A spiral staircase on their right led down to the floor and the ring. The staircase itself seemed to be cut out of the very rock itself. As Armaneth led Vandiel down, the druid noticed that there was circular door in the roof of the cavern, with large crystal shards pointing towards its center. A low hum filled the chamber. When they reached the bottom of the floor, Armaneth walked over towards one of the pillars that surrounded the runes on the floor, and instructed Vandiel to stand in the center of them. "I have to make adjustments to the energies the device focuses before we activate it. Otherwise, we could all end up in a million pieces strewn in places you've never heard of before." Armaneth said as he twisted a crystal sitting atop one of the pillars. Immediatelly some of the runes in the center changed to green. Then Armaneth walked over to another pillar and twisted the crystal there. again, some of the runes changed color, this time a purple hue. This continued until the floor resembled a rainbow. At this point Armaneth stepped into the rune circle and pressed his hand on the middle of the floor. A final crystal pillar rosed from the center, and Armaneth held his hand over it, looking at Vandiel. "Just take a deep breath to relax yourself Druid. This'll give you a tingling feel." the Guardian warned as he placed his hand on the orb and twisted it. The crystals in the cieling began to spark with energy, and the runes glowed brighter. The low hum was rising ominously, and a light was filtering through the large stone ring, which was now glowing white, from the ceiling. A field of energy enveloped them, and suddenly they were no longer in the room. - Kumlekar collapsed at the base of a cliff. He was tired from climbing, and thirsty. He'd been moving for hours, with no luck of a way out. Luckily the horrors of the Abyss hadn't noticed him yet, but he didn't know how much longer his luck would hold out. Just then a low rumble caught Kumlekar's attention to his left. It would seem that luck had just given out on him, for there in front of him stood towering four-legged demon whose upper body resembled that of a mantis. Its gaze locked onto him, then it roared a challenge and leapt. The Abyssal Demon never reached its target, for at that moment a bright white light engulfed and incinerated it. Its cries of anguish died away along with the light, and in its place stood 2 robed figures. The same robed figures he saw fighting in the past. ~ There, I've posted and incorporated Kumlekar into the story.
  18. I have. Scariest moments of my life. I was driving home after picking up my brother from church yesterday (October 23rd). About 7 minutes out of town, there's an intersection without lights, and only 2 stop signs. The road I was on didn't have stop signs. Anyways, this crazy woman travelling at 55mph runs her stop sign while I'm passing through the intersection and slams into the passenger side of my truck, knocking me and my brother off the intersection and causing the truck to roll 3-4 times, stopping about 50 yards away. I felt the car slam into the door, heard the metal crunch under the impact, and watched the windshield crack as the truck rolled. When we stopped I immediattely unbuckled myself and kicked the door open, then ran over to the passenger side and yanked my brother's door open to check on him. My brother and I are very lucky to have escaped with only burns, scrapes, scratches and bruises. Here're the pictures we have of the truck: http://img124.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=dcp01050vl.jpg (Note:don't bother writing down the license plate tag and make calls, it's been surrendered.)
  19. ~ Armaneth closed his eyes in thought at the reminder of Aleksander. "I fear that Aleksander the man is no more. Zaros had complete control, and I did not feel Aleksander's thoughts." He shook his head and sighed, then gestured for Aming to continue down the steps. She complied, but when she took the first step she slipped and started to fall forward. Armaneth reached out and stopped her before she fell down the entire stair case. Armaneth offered a supporting elbow, but Aming shook her head. "I'm fine." she replied when he querked his eyebrow at her. "No, you're not." was his firm reply, and he took her hand, looping it around his elbow, and held it there gently but firmly. "You wouldn't make it down these treacherous steps in one piece alone given your condition. No one's going to look at us funny, either." he added when she looked rebellious and slightly embarrassed. He was right when he said no one would care too much, all they recieved were courtesy nods as they proceeded toward the dining hall. When they got to the dining hall Armaneth led her into a side room where a small table was set away from the bustle of the main chamber. Vandiel was already there, looking at the pictures lining the walls. He looked at Aming and Armaneth as they entered, and was given a 'Don't you dare say anything' look while Armaneth gently put Aming into one of the 3 chairs at the table. She grimaced at the gesture, but didn't say anything. The Guardian gestured for Vandiel to take a seat, then went back out into the main hall, closing the door behind him. He returned a few minutes later with a servant in tow, both carrying trays of food, which were set in the middle of the table: a seasoned roast bird, 2 loaves of bread with butter and cheese, assorted vegetables, a wineskin, and a pitcher of tea. When everything was set, the servant bowed to the guests and Armaneth, then left, closing the door quietly behind him. The three ate in silence, undisturbed by the sound outside. - The Judge seethed. He paced around in his chamber shouting curses and swearing to have the two Guardians' heads. He slammed his fist into the nearest wall, creating a large hole, and took a deep breath. Then he smiled maliciously and chuckled softly to himself. "Fools. Utter fools to have left this world. Now that they're not in the way, I can proceed on with my plans." ~
  20. Don't worry about crossing dimentions, Armaneth, Rain, and Vandiel will return in time. But first, they must recover.
  21. ~ A plethora of colors assailed the Guardian's eyes as he stared into the endlessness of the void between the worlds. All the sounds of the worlds that could ever occur assailed his ears, then died away. The chaos before him began to slow and take shape. His eyes adjusted to the changing display. He could see the magic tracing freely around him now. The beautiful lines and colors they formed. He took a moment to admire it, then set to his task. Raising his fists to his chest, he began to chant. Each time he repeated himself the chanting became louder and developed an echo, until a window into reality formed before him... - The Judge smiled maliciously as his spell finished. Laughing, he cast the spell, and was surprised to see it die before it touched Rain. He looked vehemently at the Druid, but Vandiel wasn't there anymore. Judge felt a shiver run down his spine, and knew that he had erred when he thought Armaneth to finally be gone. He glanced down at Rain, who now had a faint, icy blue glow surrounding her. "No! She's mine magus!" The Judge roared, and he raised his scythe to strike. But as he swung at Rain, her form shimmered, and began to fade. The scythe went through her and into the ground below. As she dissappeared, the Judge lost his balance from where his foot had been on her back, and toppled into the mud. A laugh sounded around him, mocking him, then it faded. "I will have you Magus!" he cried in fury as he got back up, wiping mud from his face. "I will have your head!" - Rain shivered. The air was cold here. She could hear birds singing outside and knew that she wasn't in the wilderness anymore. She opened her eyes and stared at the vaulted ceiling above her, which had a silver sheen to it. She sat up and looked around the room she was in, slightly disoriented. The walls were colored blue, with silver trim. A table and chair sat against the opposite wall from the down filled bed she was on. A stand next to the bed held a pitcher and some cups, the former steaming. The door opened, and she gasped as Armaneth stepped through, but a changed Armaneth. He was no longer covered by a dark blue cloak, but instead wore bright blue garments with armor over it. Armor that looked a lot like ice. He also bore a circlet on his head, of the same icy material, with a sapphire gem inset. But the most noticeable change was in his eyes, which shone more brightly now. "Well, I see that you're finally awake." Armaneth said with a half smile. He strode to where the pitcher was, filled a cup with a white liquid, and handed it to Aming. "Something to clear your head. You strained yourself with the Judge there." She nodded, and then grimaced because the motion made her head pound. She sipped at the drink, then set the cup aside, already feeling the pain in her head lessen. "Where are we? How's Vandiel? How'd I get here?" she blurted. Armaneth waved a hand for her to be silent. "You are currently in the fortress situated in Mount Icerock, on the continent of Aeth, the southern pole of the Capital world Alessia. Vandiel is up and about, since he wasn't in as bad a condition as you, and is currently learning the uses of the herbs we have to offer." The Guardian replied. "We'll be able to return to Geilenor in a few days, when you've fully recovered. But before you decide to wander around, you might want to change back into your travelling robes. It's very cold outside." he finished, indicating the chest where her clothes were. She just now realised she was in a light robe. Armaneth left the room so she could dress in privacy, and then went to the stores where Vandiel was talking with one of the servants about a particular leaf he held. "Be careful with that one Vandiel," Armaneth said as he walked by, "It'll give you frostbite if the liquad it stores touches your skin." Immediately the druid dropped the leaf and took a step back. The servant chuckled and picked the leaf up, placing it back in the appropriate jar. The Guardian retrieved a wine skin and went to the kitchen, where the evening meal was being prepared. There he spoke to the head chef, and after he made sure of the meal, he went back to check on Aming. When he knocked and entered, she was just settling her cloak, and was looking around for something while rubbing her neck. Armaneth walked over and pulled open a drawer. He reached inside and pulled out Aming's amulet, then held it to her. ~
