Of course, my population estimates are based on censuses from the 2008-2009 era. No census has taken place during the past 20 years due to the chaos brought on by the rise of the New World Order. The chaos is how I was chosen as a new monarch by the people of Ireland. That also explains why the UK government was so quick to be annexed into this new Act of union. People are afraid of the darkness that envelops their collective futures; they needed a hero to rise out of the chaos and hold the torch of Guidance so that they may see. Unlike the old British Empire, we do not mistreat our comrades. The Irish will not be oppressed for Roman Catholic beliefs, and everyone will be able to get along as they unite as one People and settle their differences. Everyone wins, really. As with the aforementioned lack of updating national records, we theoretically have more potential for military growth. We could actually turn our nation into the Paradise that we so desire it to be. After all, the New World Leader has mandated that we make the world a better place, even if he doesn't judge our politics. Even if the world erupted into all-out war, a Phoenix will invariably rise from the ashes.

There's no guaranteed, granted. However, there's no guarantee that the Brazilian Empire would not have invaded you eventually, or the Iran/Jerusalem/Luxembourg/Venezuela alliance. The whole thread is about politics really, you just have to ride the winds and hope for the best. However, I would say that you're getting quite a good deal here. Considering that you're coming in around 10 years behind in tech, and have a military strength around 1/20th of what I have, a guarantee of independence is almost unimaginable. Also, your annexation of Iceland is not going to happen now though, considering my forces are fighting for control of the island right now. Considering that we have our own ambitions to make Britannia a legitimate superpower like it once was, we may consider some sort of deal. However, knowing that your politics revolve around deception, we need more benefits brought onto the table. You could have considered a pact similar to one that Germany formed during WWII with Japan, without of course, the deception that you committed against the USSR. Although some ideas are out on the table, no formal decisions will be made yet. (By the way, don't you think the leader should be online before you conquer him? It's like fighting someone when they can't command and fight back.)

Just saying, why should we trust that the governments of Deutschland and Russia won't declare war on us and give us our spot in the world after they conquer most of Europe and Asia? Germany has been isolated from the start and has never offered to build ties with Britannia. We tend to not care about the affairs of Russia or Germany, but rather our own. We have no objective to attack Germany or Russia (or any nations in Asia/East Europe), not out of fear, but out of apathy. We will not interfere with your war unless hostilities from your respective governments spill over onto our soil. The military will continue its growth. Britannia shall further its militarisation and catch up with the other superpowers strength-wise. The borders will continue to be strengthened for the sole purpose of defence.

The Draft has been created. We are drafting every person that can hold a gun and fight. Due to fear from brought on by the Fourth Reich, we have drafted hundreds of thousands. We will have ~1.5-2M soldiers easily in the next month. It's a mad rush to the Department of War's headquarters. The Royal Navy and KN has been on full-alert and ICBMs are being readied. We are expecting millions of soldiers. We have renamed ourselves during this time of war as "Britannia" to show that our islands are once again united as one nation, one people. The topic of war is being considered. ALL HAIL BRITANNIA!

Iceland will still be annexed. I've given up on Canada as I see no real use for it.

We've already been discussing this topic for pages on the other thread: "American Propaganda Commercial". Anyway, I think it's a great idea for the people that can't afford health insurance. I doubt that national healthcare would be perfect, but I don't think that it'll be some doomsday scenario that most Republicans are claiming that it'll become. I think it's a good system as far as medical treatment goes, but it definitely needs reform in other areas, which includes the people that can't afford health insurance (and thus prevents them from getting treatment because of the astronomical prices without insurance) and the fact that frivolous medical lawsuits have been increasing over the past few years.

You can keep it if you've already bought it, but they're not allowed to sell new copies. It's only effective in a little less than 60 days. I suggest that you go ahead and buy Word while you can if you don't already have it. What sucks is that my school will probably delete Word from all their computers thinking that it's illegal. Then, they're going to replace it with some inferior program that takes a while to load and is hard to use. :thumbdown:

We are working on fortifications for London and other places throughout the British Isles. These fortifications will include anti-aircraft weapons and an anti-ICBM shield. We are also preparing our soldiers and fortifying our bases. The KN and Royal Navy have found no hostilities, but we are diligent. There are still no plans for attacking another nation, but we are preparing our defences. We are looking at Iceland and Canada as possible new territory. And by the way, China and the United States are both destroyed. (I think)

Alright. You own Corsica, right? We could have a meeting there (which would be about mid-way for all of us), which will allow us to return to the safety of our homes faster. The meetings will be held in 1 month. (2 hours) It has been moved closer due to the war. We will discuss the new planet, anti-matter, and cloning. We will also discuss how we can contribute to the research.

The CERN meeting is still being planned. However, due to the outbreak of war in the East, we will hold the meeting in several months (about several hours) today. The meetings will discuss scientific research and how participating nations can fund it. Just because a war is heating up doesn't mean we can't progress scientific knowledge. Somalia, are you still interested in coming?

Due to the war in the East, I am deploying the Royal Navy (as well as the Kingdom's Navy) to patrol our waters. We are increasing our air presence to patrol our skies and we are making preparations for a possible conflict. We call on all Confederate nations to make preparations in case of an attack on our soil. As for Brazil sending their navy to protect Norway, we will grant safe passage as long as my men aren't attacked. We are completely neutral in this war as of now.

The UK government has agreed to let the United Kingdom become annexed into the Kingdom of Eire. A ceremony has been held. I have full control of the British Isles. We've had few conflict during the annexation process, but we have had some teenagers protesting it, but they were kept under control with security guards that were keeping watch over the ceremony. I will now have to stomp out the IRA, which should take a few years to accomplish. They have already become less of a threat just from the inclusion of North Ireland as part of the Kingdom of Eire. The population of the Kingdom of Eire has soared, as well as the military. We currently have a bit over a half-million troops (including reserves), as well as a population of roughly 66 million. My approval rating is exceptionally high due to the fulfillment of my promises of a reunified Ireland. (I PMed Sworddude and he said he would give up control.)

I have received word from one of my diplomats that the question of annexation has been posed to the UK government and their verdict on the issue will be known soon. I know that my membership in the EC automatically warrants an alliance between other members and my nation, but I would like to request formal alliance with Luxembourg, Australia, and the Brazilian Empire.

There's nothing much to the meeting. It is basically to discuss scientific research with the LHC and the study of anti-matter (perhaps even trying to harvest substantial amounts of anti-matter to better study it), as well as how to fund CERN's ongoing scientific research. The conference will commence in one-one and a half years, which will give everyone ample time to attend. I think Somalia's also interested in attending, so I plan to see you both at the meetings. As for the hurricane preparations, we are warning citizens to stay inside and wait it out. We are also evacuating some cities and building temporary sea walls and levees on land. We hope that this will reduce significant damage to the mainland. The military is also continuing to grow steadily. No hostilities have been noticed by the air patrol and the Kingdom's Navy. The diplomats have arrived in London, and I suspect that we'll hear some good news soon. (By the way, could anyone remind me who's currently supposed to be leading the UK, please?)

How do you annex new territory if the user that owned the country has been inactive?

A lot of people are beefing up air presence and their armies for security reasons. There might very well be some conflict later on, but as of right now, there's no clear sign of any major conflict in Europe. The Irish government assures that there are no plans for an invasion of foreign soil, just beefing up our national security and having talks with the UK, which may include possible annexation into the Kingdom of Eire; however, the talks mostly centre around keeping peace in the region and trying to stop violence brought on by the IRA.

The CERN meeting was geared towards the EC since it's located in territory controlled by members of the Confederacy. I'll rephrase it, the meeting will focus on CERN since it's the site of an already-built particle collider. Any nation is welcome.

We have made preparations against the hurricane and are also making preparations against the tsunami, just incase. The military is increasing at a satisfactory rate. We've already raised about 10,000 more troops and are expecting tens of thousands more as patriotic Irish citizens are enlisting during these uncertain times. I want to hold a conference with other members of the European Confederacy to discuss some things, such as trade and anti-matter research at CERN. I need other EC nations to go to this meeting as soon as possible, preferably in the next few weeks. We've also spent 20 million Euros fortifying key cities around Ireland, including Dublin and Dublin Palace. We have constructed many turrets in these locations that are powerful enough to take out enemy aircraft and enemy warships.
