Napoleonic Hegemony
So, Jacobins get their way again, instead of the Gerondins. Interesting. What next? I think it would be interesting to see an atheistic France (as it was for a little bit after the Revolution), but I assume you are going with Napoleon anyway. If you do that, then France will become Catholic again. I think that it would mix things up a little if the atheistic trend continued, causing a sort of future "French kulturkampf" against the Roman Catholic church.

No. And I never said [cabbage] about a conspiracy. Please go quietly sit in the corner. You know nothing about what's going on. Hell, you weren't even part of that admin-user multi-way discussion that we had a few months back. So shush. You didn't message the admins and tried to make peace by apologizing for how things went and then were completely blown off, despite your politeness. Only one (ONE!) admin in that discussion had the integrity to respond politely to what I said. The rest posted inane statements that basically said "[bleep] you". So really, I know what the hell I'm talking about. You don't, and if I'm coming across as harsh, I'm sorry. But really, all you're accomplishing is instigation. And I'm only really pissed off about this again because it was brought up again when some of the aforementioned knew how controversial the subject was. We really just want the admins to back off for a while. We know what they want to do in regards to the forum "reshuffle". Just do it. A lot of us don't like the idea, so you are accomplishing nothing by trying to strongarm us into agreeing with you by harping at us about it.

DING DING DING, WE HAVE A WINNER. Isn't he just parroting exactly what you just said in previous posts? @Earth: Honestly, you don't know what you're talking about. Trust me. You're just hearing bits and pieces, not the full story. Anyway... Oh the irony!

Honestly, are you getting that info from Hegemony in order to look smart without knowing what you're talking about? ------------------ Interesting find.

On Haven and Hearth, we kill those kind of people without hesitation. That's what makes us awesome. Seriously, the whole issue with the GMs seems like someone is treating us like a bunch of pre-teens. Hmm. http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=10451&sid=f4fd9745214f8884612912511a671408 Basically this guy wanted to do something for [cabbage]s and giggles, so he acted like an ass and went on a spree in the game in order to try to grief people until they quit. Due to the political environment of the game, people helped those who were affected and killed the guy. In Haven and Hearth, this is how they "ban" people, so to speak. In Hegemony, someone was giving us problems, and we wanted him gone. He was being a moron and was hellbent on ruining the game for everyone. Many people wanted him gone, so it was within our right to try to make the game environment enjoyable for everyone. The same situation applies to what happened in the MMORPG and on the topic. A person caused grief for everyone. He didn't just attack someone and piss them off. Instead, he acted like a fool and spewed offensive comments throughout the entire experience (and not just on that thread). Because of this, people wanted him gone. If we took both examples and applied the action that happened in response to Hegemony to Haven and Hearth, the players would have tried to kill the person and then the devs would have taken action against the players that tried to make the game environment more enjoyable. We were merely trying to better the game environment, and the misguided judgements of a few individuals who have admitted that they were disinterested in the Falador Tavern caused needless grief to users who were playing fairly. It is unwise for someone of a position of responsibility to force his narrow-minded bias down the throats of those who are unwilling while at the same time asking for their opinions. Likewise, when a group of fair-minded individuals contacted said person and plead for action to take place against another user who committed several infractions, it was a terrible mistake that those cries were ignored. This is what breeds rebellion against said authority and causes future recriminations, which will only get worse. And indeed they shall.

What can I say? Decay is a real [bleep], especially since the WE grid seems to have an increased rate of decay. The grid that I mine in has a much, much lower rate of decay. Things decay. If no one bothers to repair things, they break. The walls that matter are well-maintained and not broken, though. So it's not like anyone can just walk into the city, which a well-known PKer did and then wanted to establish a trading relationship. ----- @Icuownage: Well, you never know, komrade. :P

The dead people were skeletons made by Yours Truly. I killed them, but don't worry. They were just alts that I murdered so I could get Full Industry on an alt. The walls are broken in some areas because I CBF to repair them, and people weren't making beer. So our crossroads system - beer = good fight. There are only like 5 or 7 active players though in World's End. People are just busy as hell with college or work. In fact, I'm typing this message on a computer in my university's student center because I just got out of class and don't have anything to do for a while, so meh. How the hell did you get in World's End?

Or Britain could wait 70 years and allow the American Civil War to escalate before intervening and helping the Confederacy out, destroying the North, then later killing the Johnny Rebs and having supremacy over North America.

Redneck Football Coach Fires Reporter
Exactly, the reporters are off screen as they usually are in press conferences, so it was not her wearing the hat that got her fired, but him noticing. But from an outsiders standpoint, he looks like a stuck up twit. The first rule of sport is to respect the opposition, he certainly doesn't seem to if just a hat from an opposition makes him refuse questions from a reporter. If this was football in the premier league and a manager refused a question due to the reporter wearing another teams hat, there would be uproar and he would probably be ripped to pieces. The problem with American football is people thinking it is more than it is. It's a sport. The firing imo is just a small thing, sue the radio station, that is all she can do. I agree with you completely. Americans take football too seriously. In fact, a major news station in my state conducted a poll, and 40% of those that participated supported the firing, and 60% were against it. Those who supported what happened are in the minority (in the poll at least), but the number is still a lot higher than it should be. The coach was just butt hurt because his team lost to the Florida Gators recently. And yes, he is the stereotypical type that one would associate with the South... He's always like this.

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/campusrivalry/post/2010/08/wearing-florida-hat-to-press-conference-gets-arkansas-radio-host-fired/1 I've heard about this in the news recently, and I think that it's pretty ridiculous. The coach for the Arkansas Razorbacks complained about a reporter wearing a Florida Gators hat (she wore it because her hair was wet from the rain), and it ended up with her being fired from her job.
