I agree. The rules and the introductions to threads in this forum make this an unappealing place for most forum users. The complicated gameplay coupled with having to keep up with dozens of different numbers (such as balancing your country's budget in Civ-style games) really makes the game more like work than play. And you don't even get paid for it. Also people are turned off by some of the story-telling because it can be tedious to constantly read through it if you're not used to it, and I would imagine that some of the stuff here seems like a lot of people are into LARPing in real life (which makes people feel like you're too serious about your stuff). Likewise, the various Hegemony threads really are an old and worn out concept. They should be killed. With fire. The first Hegemony thread was popular because it had a simple objective with a simple game mechanism. You didn't have to think too much when playing it, and there were very few rules, so you had a lot of free reign and room for creativity. As it stands, Civ-styled games in the Tavern are either too far-fetched fantasy wise (think Grim's thread) or too complicated (think everything else). Dungeoneering, for example, was a marvelous idea because it had both a simple objective and didn't require much personal upkeep from the player's point of view (although it was hard on the GM). Now, I'm not saying that every thread should be Dungeoneering-like (which would be a horrible idea), but it did have a lot of good things about it. And it was popular. You should really think about the threads you guys create if you want to attract people. I would also advise that you branch out more (don't give a rat's arse about the mods possibly looking down on having a discussion thread for different online games here). You guys need to do some games like Dwarf Fortress, Haven and Hearth, Transformice, whatever. Don't make yourselves just about RP/forum games threads. You're a separate community and should damn well act like one.

I liked that troll that pretended to be from India and pissed I_Goddess_I off with his sexist jokes. Other people are: -Das (man we go waaay back) -BlueLancer (total [puncture], but he was a cool [puncture]) -Warri0r (evolution is awesome) -Satenza -Viktor_Krum77 ("I'm gay and you just committed a hate crime!") -Bubsa (I sing about runescape and run marathons while wearing a thong and vaseline) -tropical (dragonflies make me think philosophically) -Serephurus (great guy but went a little crazy for a while) -Lenin (everybody's comrade - destroy the capitalist scum!) -Rpgamer -Astraline (Post pictures of your pets!)

Epic fail attempt at installing trojans onto someone's computer so you can steal accounts to some [cabbage]ty browser based game that only 14 year olds play anymore so you can do godknowswhat. Enjoy being a virgin, [bleep].

http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/desu ~~~~~~ The "laughing girl" has two meanings: one that my post are meant to be lulzy (though a bit half-assed) as well as demonstrating the 'girl persona' I sometimes use to troll. Buuuut it also is for the desu! :3 ~Desu!

Yes, he was the one that KO'd Archi and tried to kill Retech and Wisp.

Nunya isn't the name of anyone on these forums. It's just a name that denotes anonymity. You know, as in "nunya business", etc.

I bid you adieu
It was going to be done in response to the perceived mistreatment that archimage endured from the admins when he was mod. It would have involved massive, massive spamming/trolling, etc. -- something that would have disrupted the usual flow of posting and led to the admins either being too busy to do anything or being forced to ban everyone involved (which was quite a lot of people). It was later refined to just be a massive exodus from tip.it where we made our own separate site. Archimage was never directly involved, though. In fact, he forbade us from doing it even though he knew we were going to anyway. The leader of the operation was Nunya. EDIT: It never had an official name, but it was discussed a lot on different sites. EDIT #2: It wasn't just in response to archimage's mistreatment. There were others that were fed up with how things were ran on other parts of the forum. Added

I bid you adieu
After reading that some other people decided to officially quit the Tavern, I have decided to go ahead and make a formal announcement about myself retiring from Falador Tavern. Key reasons for this include: -The removal of archimage_a as moderator -University obligations -Disinterest in the continuation of the Hegemony series (which was fun for a while, but now has worn itself out in my opinion) -Interest in the game Haven and Hearth -Drama between some of the users of this board (which gets really old after a while, guys) Don't get me wrong. I've enjoyed the community and the time we've spent 'together' experimenting with interesting roleplay games, but it's really time for me to move on. With the failure of Operation [cabbage]storm, which was being planned between me, Doomsavenger/Wisp, and a few others of this board that shouldn't be mentioned, things just became boring drama-wise. Although we did have quite a bit fun trolling the /OT/ and Rune Tips logos on Drawball. Concerning the power struggle on Haven and Hearth, I can say that we weren't meaning to be douchebags about giving only a few people access to the city gates. It was done largely for security reasons (as there really were Russians raiding in that area, so you were probably going to thank me later). Falador only failed because of the disunity that was already present within Falador Tavern. It was great fun playing with you guys from the time we split off from Off-Topic and became our own board (which was fought against at the time). We had a few interesting characters join our group, and some people leave our group. We've all been through the drama that was the New World Order and the Eurasian league, Britannia's banishment from Earth, and the time when Britannia betrayed everyone and joined the Terran Federation. Hegemony 1.0 was a very fun game indeed. Anyway, I would like to wish you all luck with your lives. Don't be afraid of what others think about you. I've noticed that some people were really self-conscious, and this led to a lot of flame wars. You aren't going to get through real life that way. Don't act like a bunch of children just because one person doesn't like your favourite TV show. Just move on. I guess this is goodbye. You can still catch me posting on Off-Topic from time to time, or you can PM me your MSN/Skype details. Regards, Serephurus / Andvari / "That Conniving Bastard"

The HIGH Road
Long-term, habitual marijuana use is like taking ice cream scoops out of your brain. I think the OP's post is clear evidence of the degenerative properties of marijuana. Before long he'll be addicted to something heavier and will be performing oral sex in street corners just to fuel his addictions. Kids, don't do drugs.

Does anyone else think about this?
I think that we (intellectuals) should rise up and take what's ours. This world belongs to us, the intellectual elite, and the underlings only exist for our own exploitation. The underlings should be subjected to heavy labour while we sit within our parliamentary buildings, our congresses, &c, and rule the world. Men such as Rousseau were fools. There are no such things as "unalienable" rights. It is just as valid to argue that the elite have the right to enslave the weak. EDIT: I also agree with your position about black people.

Vegetarianism
I don't eat plants or animals because they are living beings. Consuming them for the nourishment of my body and my own personal survival is immoral, so I refrain from devouring them because I'm a hippy. I think I'm slowly starving though.

Do animals have morals?
I saw a dog spare a cat's life once.

Haven and Hearth
I played a bit more of it, ran out of food. Can't find anything to hunt, I'm at the red bar now for hunger and it is getting low :/ Any quick ways for me to get food? With the foraging skill, you can find wild berries and taproots and eat them in order to fill up a small amount of hunger. The best way (at your level) is to get the hunting skill, find chickens or rabbits, walk up til your character is touching them, then right click while having settings on Sprint really quickly. This will give you their icon in your inventory. Just right click -> Wring Neck -> Butcher and roast them on a fire. Eating them raw will lower your HHP. Alternatively you can buy the fishing skill and find some water along a river where fish are jumping in and out of the water, and then fish (needs a fishing rod, lure, and some bait). Since you can't fight boars/foxes for intestines yet, you can use leeches (found by walking into swamps and pulling them off your body via equipment screen). Open equipment screen (with rod equipped) and then click the leech/intestine icon in inventory and right click over the rod's icon to put the bait on it. Swimming skill not required, so don't buy it. Ever. If you still need help, I can probably arrange something.
