Google90
Don't worry about it Don't give your password to anyone. Don't download any RS related files. You're safe. That's pretty sad seeing someone threaten you to be hacked, in real life. Keep RL out of runesape
Thus
yeah, just stay safe and get antispyware. Also, use your bank pin and set random recovery questions that you write down in some really secret place
frankfrank222
Also, don't use public computers such as in a libary. These so called "friends" might have keyloggers on them, so it's best to play it on a computer of your own which you know is safe.
Tim
heres some extra precautions: 1) dont use public computers as stated, you dont know whats on them 2) scan your computer at least once a week and keep updated incase of hackers and if there is a keylogger: 3) get a program buster and use it, it allocates whats opened including hidden programs ie: keyloggers and yuo pick which 1 you can delete/close personally i should know about keyloggers, i make them as a hobby and test them on my friends by directing to fake sites as a lesson to never trust extra sites ie: 3rd party world swtichers and autoers. of course nothing bad happens to them, i just put in a message in their friends list to tell them not to rely on other programs and dress them up as a woman or something humiliating...back on topic: like it says in the decurity place, never share your account and keep your computer checked on a regular basis. hope this eases your worries, and when in doubt, eat a cookie, pref oreo :XD: Popoto.~<
Bubsa
Also, don't use public computers such as in a libary. These so called "friends" might have keyloggers on them, so it's best to play it on a computer of your own which you know is safe. That's a great bit of underrated advice. Play on your own PC, download anti virus', a firewall and spyware, don't visit suspicious sites, and you'll be safe. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you. SwreeTak
You're safe as long as long as you don't give out you password, to anybody or download mysterious files. Just follow JAGeX rules and security tips and you'll be fine :). Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
McGuff1
one week ago my friend told me he got hacked, he recovered acc, changed pass and recovery questions, 2 days after, hacked again... what the heck is happening? Once he was "hacked" on a computer he should never have used it again unless it has been cleaned of any potential security threats. they got hacker programs, they have said me they gonna hack me, im scared, As long as you don't log in from any unsafe computers they can't "hack" you. Those are the risks of playing RUNESCAPE here, in chile... It's not just where you live (I've visited there from the U.S). Security threats are world wide. Best advice. Don't log into any computer you are sure is clean and only go to known websites that you can trust like Runescape, tip.it and others.
iwatake
Change your password often, like once a week or month, and make sure your recoveries aren't easy to guess, maybe even put in a bank pin. It's all there, use it. :D

He never said that he and his freind gave out there passwords. He said that SOME people did it there. As far as crackers go, they really wouldn't work very well on runescape. Have you ever typed your pass in wrong more than 3 time? If you have then you know you have to wate 5 min before you can try again. There is no way to get around this what so ever. You may think that you could use a proxy but you can't. The server reads the username and blocks it rather than your ISP. There would be no practical way of doing this. There are literaly millians if not billions of possibilities from 5-16 letters, numbers, and spaces. There is no way that a cracker could figure out the pass in any reasonable amount of time with 5 min delaies ever 3 attempts. Once an opinion is formed the truth is irelivant.
