Indeed, using oak planks to train with is the way to go. No matter whether you build oak larders or carved oak tables you get the same amount of experience per plank and it is the most cost efficient.

I personally use the method of cutting my oaks at the Remmington portal and then sending the butler to the sawmill, then build and tear out carved oak dining tables and repeat ad infinitum :)

I always suggest, the 10 clay pond trick, also teas are a good way to level leap. The method I best suggest is to use skill lamp rewards and quest bonuses wherever possible. I used the lamp from On Small Favor the leap from about 30 to 40.

I did the one small favour lamp jump too :P

BUt u gotta do oak items all the way, the ones that use the most logs for faster xp.

This is what I do:

I take planks I picked up at Barbarian outpost (respawn) or Entrana when I'm making laws. When I get a chance I mine clay and limestone and smith some iron nails.

Then I make Imp fountains (10 clay & 10 limestone) x2 per trip. What space I have left I fill with planks and nails and hammer and my saw (I have a crystal saw from Glouphire quest,) but I won't waste it while making wood rocking chairs.

It's not exciting or glamorous, but it's cheap.

BTW - I use ring of deuling (I made) and jump back and forth. I've lvl'd to 54 in my spare time without spending much at all.
