Hi, currently I am trying to obtain a axe/pickaxe handle for an account on which I will no longer train combat.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I know that the only way to get them is by either mining or woodcutting and waiting for the head to fall off.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I was wondering how often this occurs and whether it does so only on the first swing taken at rock/tree.

You'd probably be better off trying to buy a new pickaxe, and/or selling the head you have now. It'd be better to spend a bit of cash then not be able to train.

The problem is that they aren't equipable. I think everyone is mis-interperating me. I do not want a handle because I have head. I want a handle so that my character will look unique.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The only way I can achieve this is by getting the random whilst mining/woodcutting and then leave the handle equipped and never take it off. Thanks for the offer though. =p

You'll just have to keep wcing until it falls off. Btw, yes, it only falls off on the initial swing at the tree, never while you are chopping, so you could try and click-click-click...
