An awesome 3d modelling prog. I'd love to have it but I don't...and doubt my comp could run it.

a 3-deminsional modelling program. it was used for movies like finding nemo and shrek....

ive got maya unlimited 4.0, though, so its probably only like $3,999.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

my dad got his masters in informatics (new media) and one of the classes was 3D modelling, so obviously he needed the program, so they gave it to him free. so technically he got it free, and technically not, since he had to pay for classes. we've gotten lots of other programs through this too. adobe premeir, photoshop 7, flash, etc. its awesome :D

the benefits of having a job at 16.... but if it was maybe umm... like 1/16th of the price i'd buy it.

i use photoshop to make my pixel sigs though...if thats what you were referring to

Random sig script ;). http://www.uzzisoft.com make an account and you can upload the sigs you want to rotate through.

If you are a student, then it is only like $600 I think.

yea i think you're right though. but i think what happened was my dad befriended this young dude from morocco who had maya unlimited and gave it to my dad. hes really cool and a freaking genius :shock:

i c ur pixels own mine i only use ms paint :oops: aint got no extra cash to buy sumtin special :cry:

So, is Maya any good for making sigs? Or more specificly abstract sigs? If it is, I might have to check it out.

Well, I saw in Ice Age special features thats done in Maya aswell. Just to give a thought :D

yes maya is INSANELY difficult. except, it is SOOO advanced so there is so much that you can do as opposed to 3D max....even though there is a whole lot you can do with that too. you can add cloth and dynamics to objects and edit how they react to an action or animation. its amazing, but requires a very high level of skill. im ok at it. if i ever get around to it, ill try and do a full render and modelling of something.

i have maya 6... i dont even know how to install it tho lol

Bah.. you can do all that in XSI. :-P

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

One thing I love about XSI is the awesome speed of character rigging... I can rig a character and animate him so fast it's amazing. I think I could rig up a good 4 step walk cycle of a character in about 2minutes.
