Has anyone used this strategy? Just cast a simple ice rush on the melee brothers, then prayer pot the mage and range, or do the effects not work on them?

It works, but the runes for those spells cost a lot, so not many people do it.

Wouldn't the rewards almost automatically out-do the cost? Ice rush only costs chaos, deaths, and waters.

Ice rush only freezes for 5 seconds, people usually use higher level spells (which cost a lot more)

No, the ice rush freezes them for 5 seconds, after which there is a "grace period" of 2 seconds before they can be frozen again.

Ancienting barrows does work, but the runes sometimes cost so much that they are more expensive than the chest value.

Yes it would work, bring a water staff instead of ancient staff, because there easy to manualy cast then auto.

i dont agree, you could simply attack with an ancient staff, less chance of death because you wouldn't have to keep clicking ur inven, also, you can stay on your food/pots part of your inven.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

i would say wait until atleast until 70 mage to attempt this, 4 chaos, 2 deaths, and im not sure about how many waters. it freezes way longer (you wouldnt be able to do anything using rush, hits too low and doesn't freeze long enough) and hits way higher, also, for ahrim and karil if you take ancient staff you can take some more armour to boost your defences (such as dragon hide or sum melee armour).

you should almost always fight karil w/protect unless you got godly defense w/arm and melee stats and range ahrim unless you got godly melee stats to fight him with. Never try to mage ahrim or you will waste a lot of time and money on runes.

So the main barrows strategy is to pray ur way through most of them, but have enough food to beat the brother who hits through prayer.
