Hey guys,

If you've looked at a few of my other threads made, you will have noticed that I keep on chainging my mind from on thing to another (wanting to be a pro footballer to being the next richard branson to being the next slash). The thing is, i think i get inspired too easily. I am starting to not enjoy life, worrying about the future too much. Keep on writing thing own on paper, like my main interests and goals, then moving onto another interest through being inspired again, and starting the goals again. I only have to see someone on tv, or hear someone in my family say "hes good at" for example "golf", then ill want to become the next tiger woods, only to find out I dont want to anymore. Ill go out and see people with really good social lifes and decide to stop fretting about the future and focus on social, then go and hear something about richard branson, so ill plan on becoming a billionnaire.

Please guys, tell me whats wrong with me, or direct me to other helpful websites about this, this.....diesese.

Thank you.

How old are you?

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

I had this problem at a younger age, 12, 13, 14 or so. I just found where my true interests lie, which was architecture, but my math is too bad, and then I discovered the world and such yatta yatta yatta.

just find a basic foundation about what you wanna do

if you don't know by graduation time...apply to a big university that has many colleges in it...and do "university studies" or something broad and basic...then choose from there

Wow, those threads were a relatively long time ago. I remember each one though. I don't think there's too much wrong in being immersed in a passion. Just don't let it become your life's dream as you did, because obviously you can't make that decision as quick as you have been. Whenever you get an idea I would just talk to your parents about your future career and they should help you out with what is doable and what isn't if you can't figure that out yourself.

hehe I do the same sometimes :P

I watched 'Jar Head' today and began wanting to be a marine, then I watched 'Starsky and Hutch' and wanted to be a detective, now I watched 'Prison Break' and now I want to be a genius.

It's good to have a short term goals like getting through school onto uni etc.. The job aspect will come by itself, it's just you may pick up other ideas on the way there..

A friend to all is a friend to none.

15 why?

I reckon by the time you get towards going to university you will have some idea of a vague area you want to go into.

It happens to most people, I'm assuming. At one point in time, when I was around your age, I honestly had no idea what I wanted to be and my dad would continually ask me and I would just have no idea what I would want to do. School was like an inconveniance to me. The next year, it was grade 11, time to choose some serious subjects, so I chose the science subjects chemistry and biology. Today, I'm at university doing a science degree, hoping to major in biochemistry. The only problem for me is that I suck majorly in physics and maths. (Lucky in a few weeks I wont have to do them ever again :P ).

Anyway the point of this post isn't just to blabber about my own experience. The things I've discovered in life are these:

I didn't concern myself with what I wanted to do because I knew a forced career path would only be what I though I should do.

I let choice come to me - I chose a pretty broad range of subjects, including (aside from the science ones I mentioned) maths and business studies.

Overall I can't asure you the choice will present itself to you or you wont continue to be a it wishy-washy about what you want to do. My best bet is that you'll find out. Just focus on what you like, not what you think would be cool just because someone else inspires you.

Anyway I hope something in here helped. I really do wish you the best of luck with all of this because education determines what your life is going to be like, basically. Stay in school and try your best no matter what you do or what you want to be, trust me, it will be worth it.

Well when I was around 10, I wanted to become a geologist. Now I took an interest into foreign languages and am currently studying French and Spanish. I'm good at them and decided I should try to take a career in languages. (Linguist, etc)

I'm 15, by the way.

Hah... I have the same problem, but in a different kind of way...

I love planning trips, for example, I've told my friends we're going on trips to places like the water park, Grand canyon, river rafting, rock climbing, paintballing, and a bunch of other stuff. We never did it though but I got really excited and hyped up about it.

Theres also the part where I tend to get excited about buying something, like a guitar (didn't get), horse(didn't get), flute (didn't get), hamster (which I did and it sucked cuz I got lazy and never played with it, fish (tank always got dirty and I didn't want to clean it so I gave it away), and a bunch of other crap. But that was all a really long time ago and I've kinda stopped dreaming.

What helps, I think, its to make it consious (sp?) to yourself that you have a problem, and try not to get as excited about things..

You also may have a type of OCD, (which I do), and making yourself aware of your problems really helps stop.

Here, I got this off of Google. :D

Forum Troll:

An "Internet troll" or "Forum Troll" is a person who posts outrageous message to bait people to answer. Forum Troll delights in sowing discord on the forums. A troll is someone who inspires flaming rhetoric, someone who is purposely provoking and pulling people into flaming discussion. Flaming discussions usually end with name calling and a flame war.

Anything else?

He is a bad player, now!

It's quite simple, really. You're what we call a forum troll.

...you know, you didn't have to call him a troll. You might as well just help him. If he keeps doing it, he's a troll, and if not, then he's just a normal dude with a problem he'd like to sort out.

Any, to the original poster: Just figure out what a) you're good at, B) you like doing, c) is helpful to society/the world somehow, and d) there's good money in. Once you've got something that meets these 4 requirements - perfect future career! Just figure one out and stop worrying about it.

Me, for instance, I want to be an engineer. Designing cars, or aircraft, or similar machines. Maybe start an engineering company along with some friends of mine who've got similar interests. :-k
