My_Eggs
There it is. I have a few questions on it though. 1. Does the head seem a bit to big or is it just me? Would it be a good size if it turned out to be a helmet? 2. Whats a good way to shade armour? By this I mean: how can i make it look kinda realistic? Been a while since you guys have seen me around here huh? 99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving. Sir_Erderik
Well it does seem kind of large(the head) but it would be around full helmet size, might be a little wierd for barrow's or medium helmets. For armour I use some hand made gradients with some slight dithering, not sure if it will turn out good for you. Hope the finished product turns out good. Faelenof
I won't comment on the head as that's also my problem - they either look too large or too small, or too masculine when they're supposed to be female and vice versa, haha. :P Shading armour is quite easy - don't dither. It makes it look less metallic. :) Also use quite a lot of contrast in the shades of armour. Pixel Artist - Former Player Mod - Former Tip.It ModNot taking sig requests - sorry! LeonardMart
trial and error are your best teachers. the head is a bit oversized but if thats the size of the helm its ok. o and about shading, before you do something that cant be solved, dont do pillow shading!!! lol Click my main sig to see my fakes :D Proud to be Mexican, yay! vladmoney
it be good for a helmet, but you gota try it out and see. Honestly you haven't really done enough work into the sig to be asking questions like that. Do some more. If you want something to look like metal look a google pic of a piece of armor and try to make it like that. Faelenof
Thanks for the tips. Faelnof, you make the shadding sound really easy lol. Just make sure you have a light source when shading. :P Especially with armour - it looks really tacky if it's been pillowshaded. WeeBoab
maybe give him chainmail or something rather than plate? (im not talking about anything related to RS here) so its not like ur shadng a big chunk, but lots of tiny ones? :o and maybe you should make him headless if the head is a problem? the headless hippy instead of the headless horseman maybe? Oooh, man, you don't want to be shading chainmail; tried that already... now that was a painful experience. >< My_Eggs, maybe you could post a WIP so we know what you're up to. :) Pixel Artist - Former Player Mod - Former Tip.It ModNot taking sig requests - sorry! My_Eggs
Lol, not much progress so far, mostly my work has been failed attempts of shading lol. Oh, and Weeboab, chain mail is much harder to shade than a plate mail in my opinion... it seems that way for Faelenof to lol. 99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving.
