1. What I thought is that it looks like hes standing next to the table thing, so maybe have something behind the table, but in front of the guy...

 

2. I also thought that the hieroglyphics (sp) looked a bit dull, and that you should make it look more like that they were carved into the wall, or either sticking out of the wall.

 

3. His arm seems like hes just holding it out to the side, his wrist should be lighter than his shoulder area, and not just shaded on the edges. The arm behind him looks like its just out to the side, his hand should be darker than his wrist, which should be darker than the shoulder, so it looks like it's behind him, not to the side.

 

 

 

I drew a bit on his arm, on the hieroglyphics (sp) to the left of that table...

Did an edit to show how you might use the shades better to define his face, and fix the nose.
