Randox
That thred was noobs say the funniest things, and tbh that guy didn't say anything and it wasent funny. As cruel as this sounds, people who would kill themselves over a video game, are proboly doing us a favor by suicide as it keeps them from reproducing. Sort of like a less honorable verson of darwin awards (people awarded for killing themselve through extreme stupidity, thus removing the moron gene from the gene pool)

Randox
Hmmm. I can see oyur point, and I'm sure that yes, someplace there is someone who is only alive because of runescape, for whatever reason. But in that situation I would still expect that you would start over, because if your alredy playing runescape to avoid suicide, than you arent likely to just give up on yourself that easy, your more likely to satrt again to save your own life. Now of course thats just my opinion. You are of course entitled to yours.

I'd say that playing it is running away from the problem. If you run from your problems, they'll always catch you. You can only defeat problems by confronting them. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

Some people are still playing in that way because they have a lot of problems IRL. Running from these problems is their ideology. They think that the only goal of life is to be happy. They can be happy with RuneScape. They don't need anything else (social, money or sex). You can trust me because.. I was like that a few years ago on StarCraft (in case in which you know it)

I was like that a few years ago on StarCraft (in case in which you know it) yea, what he said. if this game truly makes you happy then good for it. some people find happiness and reason to live every day in meaningless things. some people may find happiness in other things that save their lives, be it a spouse or pet friends/family. and running from your problems is just that running, some problems cannot be escaped. i was watching some show where this girls parents were neglecting her(slightly) like i think the parents either had a drug problem or alcohol or actually may have given her to the government to setup a foster home that is better for her, instead her foster parents worked her like a slave and her foster brother molested her on a regular basis. 20 years ago how would you confront that? you be beatened. and DNA and such stuff an all that jazz werent what they are today even if the police ever did investigate. its just basis survival knowledge, fight or flight. cant win dont fight. get away. whocares
There has to be a limit to everything. If you use runescape as a social outlet, you can, but use it also to try to improve your real life social skills but still continue playing it to an extent. magician_xy
First, I think this thread is now kind of a double topic thread for this reason: People are obsessed with Runescape because they are trying to escape problems in real life, or they play because they are genuinely addicted. First topic point: If people have problems in real life (real or self-created), yes, I think they are going to be "obsessed" with Runescape. Although in my opinion, it's not really Runescape they're obsessed with. They're obsessed with escaping those poor living conditions, whether these conditions are honestly poor or just all in the person's head. Second topic point: Some people have absolutely no problems at all in their life. Some of these people play Runescape at every free second they get. These are what I think are the truly obsessed, aka addicted. When I think about it, I used to be like that, because all I could think of is playing Runescape. My grades dropped, I became grumpy when I wasn't playing, etc. Fortunately, I now manage my time much better so that I feel I still get to play pretty often, but not "obsessively". And as a side note, I feel really bad for those people who have to play Runescape to excape their real life. I hope no one here ever has to go through that. :( I'm 100% free-to-play!!! Message me, private chat is always on. :)

TheTallestDwarf
If any problem can be created, any problem has a solution. Not if you kill someone. Fun with paint. Dalcyte
this is just getting quite hypothetical...you could go on and on for hundreds of pages with "what ifs" Honestly, i believe that if this is something you truely like, and really have a passion for, then that's what it is...if you wanna spend time in front of the game the majority of your life, then fine be it. But if you're that obsessed with it, i'd consider moving to england (if you aren't there) and work for jagex 8-) Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it

But if you're that obsessed with it, i'd consider moving to england (if you aren't there) and work for jagex 8-) i was thinking about what itd be like to be a dedicated player then go work for jagex... and like all things that allow for god like powers, end result = boring. unless you were directly responsible for what comes into the game and that still have limitations and such. man, these threads sure do come up during the low peaks between the updates dont they?
