Norton3000
Guide for easy herbs/secondary ingredients You may think that I'm going to write about Chaos druids. Well its a great way too but i found a better way to get low/medium level herbs. Instead of chaos druids you will be killing Cave Bugs. They are only lvl 6 so you wont have any difficulties while killing them. 1. Why to use this method? 2. What to bring/reguirements 3. How to get there? 4. Herbs 5. End 1. Why to use this method? I personally like to use this method because they drop lots of herbs and usually some secondary ingredients (for example snape grass and deadly red spider egs). This place is not growded at all so you dont have any competition. If you have completed Lost tribe quest you can acces bank very easily. Ranarrs drop quite often (I usually get 3 per full inventory). You will get herb in almost every two kills (you may have some dry streaks but dont worry, it wont take too long). If you can use the castle cellar shortcut banking will take only about 50 seconds. Why not to kill them? These creatures have only 5hp so its not good for those who are after combat experience. Also if you can't wear a spiny helmet you will take damage from wall beast (though there is a way to get past them without it). If you are after higher level herbs (higher than irit) dont bother. What to bring/reguirements I recommend you to use closed light source (lanterns) as open fire may cause a gass explosion. You must have lvl 7 slayer in order to kill Cave bugs. You will also need a light source if you don't want to get eaten alive. If you have completed Lost Tribe quest you will have a shortcut to the bank. Cave bugs are only lvl 6 so you don't have to bring any heavy armor. Although I recommend you to use spiny helmet to get past those Wall beasts (lvl 49) safely. You can also bring Boots of lightnes and/or Spotted/Spottier cape to make it even faster (Cave Bugs tend to wander a lot so running is best way to get herbs fast). Equipment: Any armor will do.. I just had the d'hide armor on me allready. Inventory: 3. How to get there? As i allready mentioned, it will be lot easier to be able to use Lumbridge cellar shortcut (Lost Tribe quest). If you haven't completed it you can acces the caves from Lumbridge swamp. I suggest you to use the place marked with a big dot on the map, as there are many cave bugs around there (6+). Cave map: 4. Herbs Total herb drops: 100 Guam: 65% (as you see majority of the herbs will be guams) Marrentil: 6% Tarromin: 5% Harralander: 6% Ranarr: 11 % Irit: 0% (for some reason you wont get any irits) Herbs that cannot be identified with 43 herblore: 7% 5. End I hope you like the guide as much i liked doing it. : Sorry for bad spelling/typos.. English is not my native language. Retired from RuneScape for as long as possible. tomato72
Large tip : Always kill at the entrance in Lumbridge swamp. When you kill one, climb back out, and back down. Berrakus
You should also post a warning for people with lower Firemaking levels. This cave is a dangerous place for open flame light sources (like candles). Pandaman115
Pretty bad ... I mean, cave bugs? It'll probably take about a minute to bank and get back ... I can bank and get back in 10 seconds with my place. [Admin Edit: No naming names in a negative light]
