I've been doing barrows alot so I've decided to share my method, as it works out beautifully.

 

 

 

Inventory:

 

 

Explanation for inventory:

 

 

 

Armor/weapons/spade - self explanatory

 

 

 

Dramen staff, for fairy rings

 

 

 

Prayer pot - Just in case, never use unless dharok or karil is my tunnel.

 

 

 

Super defense pot - I found three of these on the ground once, and decided to use them. They raise my defense from 80 to 97, beautiful.

 

(use 1 dose for last 4 brothers)

 

 

 

Dust/law runes - house tele

 

Minds/deaths - Slayer dart

 

16 sharks - healing

 

 

 

I always go in this order:

 

Dharok (Pray)

 

Karil (Pray until I'm out)

 

Guthan (Defense pot here)

 

Torag

 

Verac

 

Ahrim

 

 

 

Set ups:

 

Dharok

 

 

Karil

 

 

Guthan, torag, verac

 

 

Ahrim

 

 

 

 

 

 

If I have a melee brother in tunnel, I run back and forth through a door until he comes, so I can always get a safespot.

 

 

 

If Karil/Ahrim, I end up using my prayer pot dose or some more sharks.

 

 

 

After opening the chest, tele home, recharge prayer, edgeville tele, restock, fairy ring to barrows (bkr), Swamp boaty.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And finally, my stats:

 

 

 

77 Attack

 

71 Str

 

80 Defense

 

73 Range (near 74)

 

71 Mage

 

60 Prayer (Will get up to 70 when I have money)

 

78 Hitpoints

 

95 Combat.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Best run:

 

 

 

Dharok and Karil killed easily, guthan tunnel, torag, verac, and ahrim cost me 3 sharks in all. (I didn't use defense pots then either, nor did I have karil's xbow)

 

I got guthan in a safespot.

 

Open the chest...

 

A whole bunch of runes/bolt racks/gp, and... Dharok's great axe! (I had to eat 2 extra sharks to make room for the stuff =p)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rate please? Comments? Advice?

 

 

 

 

 

(I use 15 bolts per run, 50-ish casts, up to 5 sharks, lowest was only 2 sharks, per run.)

different than most methods! but it looks good regardless :o

8/10. You should replace the hides with karils, since they have much higher mage def and you won't lose an extra 1.2M (or whatever it is) when you die. Also, you should replace the sharks with monks, since sharks are really not required and cost twice as much as monks. I don't know how the rings work, so I won't comment on that.

Other than that, change the Sara d'hide to at least Karils, and if you find that you hardly eat, try switching the sharks for monks.

I'd rather use sharks for barrows, I never have an oppertunity to, just some little habit I guess.

It sure does, just leave him in the passageway and go to any other room with safespots and spawn him again. Beats using prayer pots at the chest. :thumbsup:

a very strange method for barrows. I kinda risk it with my setup, only bring 10 sharks every run, and tele out each time so i dont waste p pots starting another run. I would suggest getting kahrils, as they give better range bonus, but not sure about the mage def.

Guthan top has same defense as torags and dharoks, and costs less than dharocks, and looks good with the verac skirt.

 

 

 

Verac skirt has the same defense as torags legs ( besides range) and a +3 or 4 prayer bonus.

 

 

 

Karils has the same range bonus as black d hide (or in my case, saradomin), lower melee defense, and higher mage defense.

 

 

 

 

 

I often get profit from my runs only from chaos and blood runes, so I don't mind using my sharks.

 

(teleing and restarting just for prayer sounds a bit slow.. dontyathink?)

What is that ring?

I'd rate that setup as 5/10. So many different ways to better it. Like try Karil, costs way less, and you get hit a ton less. And, do Verac brassard and helm, it gives huge prayer bonus, but still a decent mage attack bonus.

It's a beacon ring from the what lies below quest,

 

If you have karil in the tunnel and Ahrom hasn't lowered your skills too much, i find that using full guthans (no prayer) works exetremely well on him

I'm way to cheap to have full guthans.

 

 

 

I hope to have a verac helm, but thats a tad out of my reach financially.

 

 

 

A verac's brassard has less defense than guthans/torags/dharoks.

 

Plus, I don't need much prayer bonus, I have enough for dharok and karil.

 

 

 

From barrows bank and back, I can take as little as 2 minutes, if I don't get caught up at edgeville w99.

 

 

 

Beacon ring +2 mage att/def, can't think of anything better that I could afford, and I never die at barows anyways, so I don't need ring of life.

 

 

 

And I didn't get saradomin d hide just for barrows, so its not as if I paid for it just to barrow, if that were true I'd probably have karils.

 

 

 

I don't really see karil's armor as being that much better than black d hide...

 

 

 

 

 

Thanks for all the advice, as soon as I have finances I'll probably change a thing or two about my set up, and I might be able to do a couple runs without banking if I plan it out. I might try it next time.

 

(What I worry about is extra runes/bank notes/gp taking up to much space for sharks)

Whoa! This was a great guide! Unfortunately, I have too bad melee/defence stats to use it.

Dear everyone, I boguht karils top and bottom, now going to do a run to test it out.

Alright, well I didn't get any drops, but there was a slight diffrence with ahrim.

 

 

 

Also, I tested out d mace against dds, d mace works better =)

Good job. What comat lvl do you reccomend?

Garion, I wouldn't reccomend you trying at your level yet, for my method, you have to be pretty high all around (atleast combat stats in the 70's and 50+ prayer), so for my method about combat 92+.
