Nat Strike

Featured Replies

75% of nat crafters going on strike is just unrealistic but let's say they do. And let's say prices of nats rise to 600 each. Who would be insane enough to not go make nats at that price? the price would never go so high because people would make more nats if the prices rose.

"Invisible hand". We are the ones in control of the price of nats, yet our actions are predictable and to some extent we are not especially in a perfect competition system that is runescape. That's why it's said to be the "invisible hand" that controls prices

Of course I wouldn't mind if all the other foolish nat crafters went on strike.... 2 mill per hour!? in your face merchant! :P

Interesting thoughts... And Hohto, I am not trying to go and start a strike. It was a hypothetical question, I just wanted to know what other people's thoughts were.

yeah, cause ppl are resilient enuf to go on strike

can u say black market undermining this?

Some people (like me) would probably just kill moss giants for the nats ::'

Honestly, I predict a sharp rise in Nat prices for a little while in the near future.

Why? Blood Rune Crafting. Worth alot more than nats, more exp, and take the exact same amount of time via Abyss.

Blood RCing isn't available yet, but it will be soon. With all the anticipation building over the last several months for it, along with the new Wilderness Ditch, I expect Bloods by the end of summer 2007.

Everyone with high enough level will switch to Bloods and there will be a shortage of Nats. True, this will be a very small shortage and the price will probably only raise by about 50gp per nat, but it's still something.

As soon as the nats went up say; 50gp each, the high lvl runecrafters (lvl 91+ who often have 100k+ nats would emediatly sell their nats (its a good deal for them). This would then cause the price to start going down again which would in turn cause everyone in the blue to sell their nats which I think would ultimatly lead to cheaper nats.

i stopped rc nats for a bit, not cause im mad or on strike... just because its boring as hell

Rares and raw materials falling is hardly a logical link to decreased nat production.

Rares fall when they are wanted to be sold for quick funds for something people want to do/try out eg construction when it first came out.

Alching is something already tried and tested, people wouldn't sell off rares cheaply as rune prices fluctuated.

Also raw materials would not drop. Regardless of nat prices people still want to train the other skills therefore trianing them, plus if totally self sufficient other than nats all other money making skills (eg raw materials or raw materials made into something) would still make fair profits.

The only logical materials fall would be in rune essence as there would then be a bulk of it in the market.

Also it might cause slight decreasing price trends in items such as barrows and whips as these are items people generally alch to save for, and as someone said less nats about would slow the growth rate of the gp
