Featured Replies

which is better

can u give me detailed advantages and disadvantages for each??

My main use will be to train in them

and another question... would they decay by just having them on? or is it only when u r in combat that counts?

thx

Verac's is know for its excellent prayer bonus, and is especially useful against prayer. The speed of the flail is reasonably quick.

Dharok's Great Axe is very slow, and its special is that the strength bonus is inversely proportional to your current hitpoints level. e.g. if your hp were 10/70, you have the chance to hit much higher than if your hitpoints were 70/70.

Both sets offer equal defence stats. So it depends on what you're using them for. If it's just defence, I'd say go for the cheapest. If you want to do KQ, or need high defence with high prayer bonus, go for Verac's.

In fact, if you only want them for training, go buy full Torag's without the hammers.

As for the decay, this happens only when in combat, and they should last 15 hours. Curiously though, my Verac's gear went to 100 from new when I started woodcutting. :-k

Don't follow me. You might not make it.

If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator

As stated, Veracs has higher prayer bonus and can hit through prayer. Dharoks has the chance to hit higher the lower your hp is, but dharoking can be dangerous due to randoms. And no it doesn't decay from wearing it, you have to be in battle for it to decay.

Question on verak....

hitting ignoring targets armor bonus... does that include monsters with no armors?? e.g giants(almost naked-_-)

thx

The best atack and defence training are from the Whip. The best strength training is with the d scim.

I've always felt as if I'm the only person who can understand the concept of sarcasm on the internet.

notice that veracs brassard has a lower defence bonus (no surprise, you are almost naked!), i think its comparable to rune body

Yea, but the helm makes it up for that.

Personally I only suggest Veracs if you're gonna duel with, kill the kaphlite queen, or want to do barrows with it. Otherwise the set is pretty useless. (You could always buy the skirt, it's pretty cheap and is the same as any other barrows leg -besides guthan- but with a prey bonus.)

Dharock however is usefull at several slayer tasks (fire giant, daganoths, etc.) and it's also pretty good for pking. Another plus is; it's the second best def of all the barrows, only the helm is weaker then avarage, but the legs and top are just as good as torag.

When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done.

veracs has pretty low defense compared to the other melee sets, so I would recommend against using it for normal training

veracs is most useful for dueling and kq'ing

dharoks, torags, and guthans all have much better defense bonues (torag being the best), for regular training

In my opinion I'd go for Verac, You get a chance to hit through there armour AND Pray, It has good Prayer bonus too, and It looks WAY better than dh. I personaly do not like dh because it is to risky, one of my good friends lost about 9m in items using dh, He was killing Greater Demons and had a lag and in no time was Killed, this coursed Cursing and his temper go sky rocketing.

Cheers.

If you're going to buy the full set, go with veracs if you have the money.

If not go with dh.

If you're not going with full set you should go with dh cause its cheaper, and without the full set, the special is pretty much useless. Just use the armour, no weap with a whip and a shield.

Veracs is good, but expensive and lower def bonus than dh I beleive, while dh is really risky in situations where you lose your armour if you die..
