ive been wondering, say you have 98 mage, and u wanna get 99 fast, if u get 100 pc points, will that get you your mage point, or is there a cap to how much xp 100 pc points will give?

will 100pc points get u from 98 to 99 in a combat skill (prayer exluded)

I believe that if you cash in 100 PC Points, the amount of XP you get is Level^2/4 x 100

 

 

 

So, at 98 Mage that would be 2401 x 100 = 240,100 XP, which is not enough to get an entire level. You would have to do that about 4 - 5 times.

Pc points work like this (prayer excluded): Current level squared / 6. So if your mage level is 98, it'd be: 98 x 98 / 6 = 1600. So you'd get 1,600 xp per pc point. So for 99 mage from 98 mage, you'd need 1,228,825 xp which is 768.015625 points, rounded up you'd need 769 pc points, so no.

 

 

 

EDIT: I almost forgot, you get like a 10% bonus on the top if you cash in 100 at a time. 10% of 1600 is 160, so you'd get 699 points to get from 98 - 99

what about getting those pc points using magic? surely that would increase the speed a decent amount, not quite sure on how many points that would take off though. :-k

Yeah, that would definatley shave off some points, depends on what spell your using though, how fast the world is and all those factors like that.

If you're willing to throw lots of cash to it: use ancient (ice burst or barrage)

 

even at 62 mage with smoke burst, on a bad world, you can do up to 2k damage or so per game.

 

(800damage or more per minute, so that's 1600 extra exp per minute)

This is also good for clearing out portals of monsters quickly :D
