ImForReal
What would be a good lvl for ranging blue drags? And do I need high defence?
JoeDaStudd
Its all about range lvl. Around about 60 to 70 is the minimum lvl to effectively kill blue dragons also having the require agility lvl to use the short cut is a great help. Freesia
70 agility is not a must since Taverly dungeon is not the only place to kill blue dragons :? Anyway if you bank hides and bones, I highly suggest you use cbow for it's accuracy. Knives/darts style of ranged weapons are not suggested since dragons have high defence. If you don't have cbow, at least use a MSB all the time. Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(. Maxx91
All i know is that lvl 53 is too low, and you should always use the accurate style. No need for defence for there's a safespot at the ones in taverly dungeon. The only problem at this safespot is that the babydragons will attack you. exdeath
I ranged one pretty easy yesterday, so 76 works :) I didn't have all my ranged armor on either. Was just running to cook & had a bow out so I figured I'd try. Offering 91 and 93 herblore assists. PM me in game.
neo_1248
i would say around 65 range would be enough to easily to kill blue drags
ImForReal
i would say around 65 range would be enough to easily to kill blue drags With Magic Short and Rune arrows then?
Timmis400
Iron and Steel should be fine and on the other side, I would suggest never using rune arrows to train with, they will come in handy elsewhere i.e barrows and pking. If you wanted to bank the hides and bones I would strongly suggest 70 agility for the shortcut. ~HOORAY FOR BEING MUTED!~
Bippitee
Is it just me, or has it become MUCH more difficult to find unoccupied ranging spots for blues and greens? I used to range blues all the time in Ogre Enlcave (need watchtower quest). Very rarely had to hop more than a couple of times to find a good spot, and quite often on a quiet server i could happily occupy the spot near the exit where u can power range 2 drags. Axe exp, ace money + level 3 clues as well. Then I took a break for a few weeks and last couple of days I went back EVERY SINGLE PLACE WAS CHOCKA. All the spots occupied, even on slow servers, and even in wildy every single spot was also chocka with people. Seemed a lot of chinese and random numeric names. What's other people's experience? Timmis400
I don't find it too hard to get myself a spot in the Talvery Dungeon drags because I can use the shortcut. It makes power ranging the drags for hides and bones easy. When I have to hop usually 2 or 3 times a day to get a world, in talvery I just use the safe spot on the wall right next to the agility pipe. I have no problems ranging there. ~HOORAY FOR BEING MUTED!~
HeliosG
65 is an ok level to start on blue dragons, just don't expect fast xp. I'd suggest steel arrows with the MSB or if you wish rune crossbow with pearl enchanted bolts - the special is quite effective against blue dragons in my experience. Once you get to 76 or so, Crystal Bow on rapid is better. There are safe spots in the Taverly Dungeon where the baby blues do not interefere with you. If you are banking hides and bones, you may wish to experiment with banking at CW and ballon to Taverly (just have a supply of normal logs in your bank) rather than tele to Falador to bank. It frees up 2 inventory spots (one if using teletabs) And yes 70 agility is really useful - not only does it shortcut the run but it means no more carrying the key with you, and thats another free inventory spot Quod liet ingratum est; Quod non licet acrius urit. flamingo5555555
its great money and ok exp. no def needed. from 65 (or so) range till 77 i killed 2k or so for 70 prayer i say iron arrows, and 70 agility is ftw. as for whoever commented before about green drags and blue drags being crowded: macros have invaded the green dragons, and blue dragons are always like that.. suggestion: if killing blue drags when its crowded, take air and mind runes for one-click attacking (of course, if you are above 111 cmb, you dont need it) i only died there like 6-8 times during my ranging streak. never lost anything except half a load of bones one time - with your respawn point in fally, you can get back in under 2 min. (i was reading forums and doing stuff like that every time when i got killed)

superway25
You should get 70+ range and use msb with steel or crystal bow. You shouldnt use Taverly, so no need for 70 agil. You need 40+ def, the body helps alot.
