Alternate Prayers

I would rather see a new prayer set with its own advantages, but so that you CAN'T use the old prayers with the new prayers. Not sure what this would entail, because its slightly strange.

The idea is that "we have ancients, but they don't get teleblock" we have lunar, but they don't get barrage, only vengeance.

Basically, what I mean is that we should get prayers that work in new ways, on another set, but that won't have the current bonuses.

We got enough prayers I think.....

Currently our highest prayer requires lvl 52 and I don't think we got any armours that require high pray either. This means prayer has the lowest "highest usable lvl" gab. We got over lvl 90 spells, we got lvl 90 craftable materials, 90 slayable beasts, 71+ huntable monsters and even armours&weapons which require higher level than prayer.

At the moment people aren't really cheered to get higher prayer. If you aren't a high lvl staker, pker or don't want high combat for some reason, you got no reason to take a high prayer lvl.

So far I've personally thought of the following prayers:

* Boost the energy recharge. Would help agility training, running around the map for farming purposes and in some cases even pkers.

* +20% boost to att, str, def, ranged and magic. Obvious reasons :P

* Combine protection spells: By combiting 2 protection prayers (from magic and melee, melee and ranged or ranged and magic) into one high (80 or even 90+) pkers and stakers would get a reason to train prayer, magic and ranged instead of purely melee. By having 2 protections in one it forces people to take every type of a warrior to their team or carry the items to ko the enemy with a variours styles.

Combined protection prayer would make killing jad really easy :), doubt that'll happen though. Prayer has always seemed like a rather uncomplete skill to me...

Here's my ideas for God Prayers as alternative prayers:

Saradomin's Might (Lvl-70)

- Boost your strength level by 10%

- Decrease your attack level by 5%

Zamorak's Fury (Lvl-70)

- Boost your attack level by 10%

- Decrease your strength level by 5%

Guthix's Recoil (Lvl-70)

- 50% of the damage received returns to the attacker (similar to the Ring of Recoil effect). Returned damage is rounded up.

NOTE: If the attacker happens to also have Guthix's Recoil activated, the damage returned to them will NOT be halved and fired back to their target.

The boosts and decrease in skill levels could be percentages but if that's too powerful, I think boost by a fixed level should be fine. You'll also need to wear a Holy Symbol or Unholy Symbol to activate the prayers. Guthix's Recoil works with either Symbol.

[/hide]

I don't think those prayers would be good, first off, the Saradomin's / Zamorak's ones require much higher than the 15% ones we already have, which are better anyway, so they would be pointless after all.

The Guthix prayer would be too powerful, unless it drained your prayer to 0 after the damage return. (or something similar, 50% back from damage you take is too much, 30-30 DDS K.O. anyone?)

I'm not entirely sure of how the current prayers affects Strength, Attack and Defence but I believe it boosts the respective skill's effectiveness. I should clarify that my God Prayer suggestions boosts your current skill level by that percentage, much like the effects of a Super Set.

For example, you have lvl-50 Strength and lvl-50 Attack and you use Saradomin's Might. You get a Strength level boost of 10% and a Attack level decrease of 5%. So, the Strength level boost of 10% for lvl-50 Strength is 5 so your max Strength level becomes lvl-55 for the duration of the Prayer. Attach level decrease of 5% for lvl-50 Attack is 2.5, rounding up to 3, so your max Attack level becomes lvl-47 for the duration of the Prayer.

This can be an alternative to using potions, albeit a poor alternative. I hope that clarifies my idea.

Guthix's Recoil can remain 50% of the damage received returns to the attacker in addition to each point recoiled to your attacker, you are drained 2 Prayer points.

For example, your attacker deals you 20pts of damage. The recoil damage is 10pts, thus your Prayer is drained by 20pts. The recoil damage is also dependent on you current Prayer points. If you only have 16 Prayer points, you'll only recoil 8pts back to your attacker instead of the full 10pts even though you were dealt 20pts of damage.

OK, thanks for clearing that up, I guess that would work but still don't get the Zamorak/Saradomin prayers. But that wasn't the point in my reply as much as the Guthix prayer being over-powered. But that 2 prayer points per 1 damage would work I think.

Also, would the recoil work if it was a K.O. or only if you lived after the hit?

a sxkilling prayer set would be kewl... like 50% less burning food... etc...

No offence? But who the heck will pray to a "GOD" to burn less food?

why would you pray a fake god anyway?

Latinoking90 prays to all of them in their alter not me

and I still believe praying to burn less food is dumb

Also the prayers could be stronger if you wore the God items belonging to each God. Would make God armours more valueable, and make them useful.

You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?
