unorclan
Complete Guide the becoming a F2P Master in the Skill of Mining! Newbie - Mining lvl 1 - 20 Pickaxes - Bronze, Iron, Steel (always get the best pic you can mine with - increses rate of mining ores) As a newbie in mining I recommend you mine rune essence from the Varrock Rune Store (auburys shop). You can quickly mine it and run it to the East Bank. By selling the ess you can make some good cash, too. Rune Essence: XP - 5 per ess Amount from lvl 1 to 20 - 894 Advanced Newbie - Mining lvl 20 - 40 Pickaxes: - Mithril, Adamant (always get the best pic you can mine with - increses rate of mining ores) At this point you can easily mine iron (lvl 15 you can mine Iron, but I recommend you go to 20 before going at it). I'd say mine Iron ore in the Dwarven Mines not far from the Falador East Bank. You can sell the Iron ore for about 100ea at worlds 1, 3, and 4. Iron Ore: XP - 35 Amount from lvl 20 to 40 - 936 Adanced Miner - Mining lvl 40 - 58 Pickaxes - Adamant, Rune (once you get 41 mining get a rune pic, greatly increases your rate of mining ores) Ok, your ready for Coal now. I say go mining in the dwarven mines, its not far from the Falador East Bank. Theres about 5-7 coal ores available for you to mine. Coal ores sell from 180 - 200ea in right worlds. Coal Ore: XP - 50 Amount from lvl 40 to 59 - 4,214 Highly Advanced Miner - Mining lvl 59 - 70 Pickaxe - Rune At lvl 59 your ready for the Mining Guild. YES I did say lvl 59. You can get into the Guild easily by going to the Falador Bar, bring a little bit of cash, buy about a hundred or more Dwarven Stouts. Bring a stout with you every trip to the Guild. Drink the stout before entering and it will raise your mining 1 lvl for about a minute or so. During this time enter the guild. Mine loads upon loads of coal and run it out to the bank awaiting right outside. Coal ore: XP - 50 Amount from lvl 59 to 70 - 9,795 Newbie Master Miner - Mining lvl 70 - 85 Pickaxe - Rune At this point you might not be looking at making cash as much as raising lvls quickly. I'd say powermine iron in dwarven mines or rimmington mine for these levels, but if you want cash then hit the coal in the Guild some more. Master Miner - Mining lvl 85 - 99 Pickaxe - Rune Unless going for 99 mining, get to mining Runite and addy ores! Runite is of course deep in lvl 45 wildy, but theres 8 addy ores in the Hobgoblin Mine also located in deep Wildy. Closest bank to both these mines are the Edgeville Bank *watch out for pkers* Runite Ore: XP - 85 Amount from lvl 85 to 99 - Thanks to the amazing talent of Jopie211 for the sig!Finest Fist of Guthix Strategy Guide
hawkwing221
An alright guide Could use more detail on locations, pictures, formatting. 6/10 Don't worry I mark very harshly so that there's always space for improvement :D I united Mongolia, sent my Mongol Horde across Asia and made it to Europe... Then my mom vacuumed the room, turned off the Genesis and thus ended my hopes of world conquest.
SirHartlar
I am going to give this guide a 7/10. There are some important things you should add to make it better: *Pictures - It makes your guide more attractive and also helps the reader pinpoint where he/she needs to go. *Equipment - What pickaxes should the user be using? Do they use a bronze from 1 - 99? When will they need to switch for a better model to maximise their experience? *Alternative Mining Areas - It will be of no use to the reader if they are mining where you told them to and it is always a competition they are going to lose. Ten people on four rocks doesn't fare well; the reader will want to know other areas that might be useful to him/her. You have the basic content in your guide, now spice it up a bit so it can be on the better mining guides out there.

pkfr0mafar
Well since this is a guide about getting mining to lvl 99 and not earning money from mining, you should have just said "Go for iron from lvl 20-99", since iron is still the best. 5.5/10 End Of Year, F2P lvl 3 skiller. sparticus348
TBH, you can't really have a guide about this. Just because there is really only one way to do it in a reasonable time, and thats powermining iron. How much of a guide can you make of that? Either way, everything else is found in the RS database, or the Tip.it Guide. I'm a master miner. Break

You should really add more features to this guide, I don't see how this helps anyone. sorry Bookgeek. ~It's Super Effective! koddo1
It's alright, only thing I would suggest is from 41 - 58, mining/banking iron. There's no real good quality coal spots in f2p besides the guild.
211cole
I totaly disagree with the statment about how to get your mining from 40 to 60. mining coal at level 40 is like sitting there all day while higher miners steal your ores. it is the slowest xp ever I power mined iron from 40 to 60, what you do is get level 3-20's to walk from the bank to the mine, and you just mine iron and give it to them. you never have to leave the mine and gain xp amazingly fast. For every coal you can have 5 iron. Just like cooking, you can cook lobbs at 40 cooking, but that doesnt mean you wont burn every lobb. I get 30$ a day working at a haunted corn ma(i)ze, dressing up and scaring people crapless.
piman1053
Al-k powering. That's the best xp and mining for anything but xp is crazy; rc, even in f2p, is much better
