honestly if they want to make a good range update they are going to have to make it cheap and easy. Although the chimps are a very good thing to range with, for the common scaper it's probably a little too much on there budget. It would be best if the bow stabilized at around 100k after 2 weeks and the arrows where around 500 ea and the darts will probably be 1k ea for the high demand. I am betting that you will be able to get a dragon chain but the rate at which you can get them is somewhat going to be like BA.

Dragon arrows and dark bows aren't going to be cheap and easy nor are they meant to be. They'll be the highest leveled arrows adn a pretty rare powerful bow. theres already a ton of cheap and easy ways to range: msb + iron arrows for example.

Good point, but I doubt they will collect any d weapons or armours very much..

I agree with you there, the fact they are implings suggests they are going to be small little critters, I doubt they'll be carrying dragon chains and spears, hmm may be lucky for them to even be collecting dragon daggers to be honest, and even then, you can only weild that after doing a quest so I doubt you'd even be able to get that...maybe dragon meds...make them even more worthless....

I really doubt it will be, it's going to be better stat wise to the magic short/long , but it'll probably be slightly inferior to the crystal bow, statistically. I won't even bother speculating how the special and dragon arrows will affect it, best just wait and see.

 

 

 

Personally I don't care too much about it's stats just so long as it's better than a magic longbow, im after the looks more than anything... \

I think this imp thing is a way to make people do hunting as alot dont bother and just use Tears of guthix each week. Now that there are (in theory) going to be some good possible rewards for hunting more should start doing it.

I think that the imps will work like the imp and a box we have now, except when you use it, it gets you a random item(s) with the word dragon in it...psyched for the range update :)

the bow wont be for the common scaper, the bows will only be obtained by people with 90+ slayer, and having that is very uncommon.

 

I tried killing dark beasts a few minutes ago and can say that they require alot more effort in killing than abyssal demons- they have high defence, very high hitpoints and require proctect melee prayer to be used(guthans is not eunaugh). Even if the dark bow is a 1/10 drop they wont be sold for 100k each.

 

 

 

Your post brings me on to another point- rangers being cheap and rangers always complaining about them being weak- at start of rs2- they were overpowerd and could rule the wilderness, now magic is overpowerd, and can rule the wilderness, rangers cant always be the best.

 

And even in the olden days, rangers used to go out with 50 rune arrows, msb black hides, coif and a power ammy and still beat a warrior in full rune, though risking 10 times less, now you want the new ranged equipment to be cheap and powerful- just not going to happen.

 

 

 

Rangers in rs2 have always been very cheap and dislike every single update they get, dragon bolts are a great ko wepon, but because of they price, rangers dont use them. When melee got granite shield to stop rangers huge power- rangers moaned, calles melee-ers cheaters and would only fight melee with rune kite, the only right thing for jagex to do is make rangers lose alot of money every time they die(similar to full dharoks, veracs or ahrims with fury and whip) and make it easy for them to ko people- then they just would not have anything to moan about anymore.
