As I said in the other pickaxe thread, how about a "Dark Pickaxe" (inspired by the dark bow) since there aren't a black pickaxe you won't get confused and I havn't thought of any special stuff but just imagine :P

Ok Blipi, I'll run with a dark pickaxe idea, I'm gonna think of some stuff for it for you. Ok so it's based on the dark bow, the new bow. I can't really think of much relation between the two...

 

 

 

Dark Pickaxe

 

Lvls: 61 mining, 55 attack, 55 strength

 

Effect: When you are mining, if you are attacked you attack your enemy with the dark pickaxe (a good weapon in itself) whilst still mining. The fact that you are mining doesn't alter the strength of the pick at all, but you cannot use a shield.

55 attack

 

61 mining

 

55 strength

 

 

 

You start this quest by talking to Sidney in the east Ardoughe zoo, he seems depressed. If you ask him what's wrong he will tell you that he misses his brother, Kidney, as he hasn't wrote to Sid for a long time and Sid is worried for his families well being. He asks you to go to the Shadow Mansion, just South of Canifis.

 

 

 

When you arrive at the mansion you'll find the door hanging of its hinge, walking inside will cause the door to slam shut (unopenable) and you will be attacked by a werewolf and 2 skeletons. You will search the house (which is infested with high level zombies) and there will be some shadows moving along the wall, they will follow you about.

 

 

 

When you reach the second floor it will appear to be a dead end, a big shadow will attack you, there is no way to kill it, one of the shadows that follows you will tell you to follow it quickly, you follow it to the basement. He will explain that he is Kidney, trapped as a shadow by the evil Galingo, who was a necromancer that mistakenly trapped himself as a shadow. In the basement you will see a series of water runways through a gate, Kidney gives you the key to go in and tells you the only way to kill Galingo is to pierce his heart with a shadow arrow (can only be used with a dark bow). You must then solve a puzzle involving waterworks, twisting them into a runway that will power the cogs to open up a part of the wall that has a chest in it that contains 1 shadow arrow.

 

 

 

Head up to Galingo and fight him, when he has low health use the arrow, it has 100% accuracy, there will be an exaggerated death scene as he is banished to he shadow realm. He will drop a dark pickaxe (untradeable) and a shadow key. Kidney and his family will ask you to free them using 'shadow essence', use the key on the bookcase in the room to reveal a hidden room with a portal to the shadow realm.

 

 

 

Inside you will be in a small room (with passages coming off but are blocked by boulders), it looks hellish. In the centre of the room are shadow rocks, they're kind of see through. There are loads of shadows, lvl 88 in the room, you must use the dark pick to mine whilst fighting, get 5 essence and return to the mansion. Give Kidney the essence and he, his wife, 2 boys and 1 girl will turn to normal, all monsters in the mansion are now gone. He will give you 20k to say thanks amd ask you to tell Sidney.

 

 

 

When you tell Sidney he will thank you and give you 10k, and something he found, a shadow talisiman, for good luck.

To start the quest you need to show Smorlorf the dark pick. He will say that it is curious but seems to emanate a evil presence. He tells you to take it to the old hermit Sanafax, a dwarf that still lives on the dwarf mining island of Koldagrim. It is an icy island north-east of the main continent. If you talk to a trader crew member they̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll refuse to take you there for it is far too dangerous around those waters, however in exchange for 100k, they agree to take you.

 

 

 

You will arrive at a harbour made of stone, the island will be deserted with empty houses and such, there are a lot of mining areas dotted about the map including:

 

Coal

 

Mithril

 

Adamant

 

Bluerite

 

Runite

 

After exploring you will find a cave that has an old dwarf living in it, Sanafax, show him the dark pick and he wil tell you the tale that long ago the dwarfs used Koldagrim as their main mining facility, but after they dug deep into the cliff face they discovered dark rocks. No-one could mine these rocks as the metal inside was too strong, determined to harness the power of the strange new metal the 2nd king of the dwarfs demanded the building of a new pick, made from loose remnants of the dark metal they found in the cave. After it was built the king himself mined the rock, and they discovered dark ore. They built two furnaces specially for making it into bars, the ocean furnace and the inferno furnace. Unfortunately the metal that was produced was too hard to be smithed into shape by the dwarfs, they needed magic. The wizards did not posses strong enough magic to weaken the metal. So the king hired dark magicians, they used shadow spells to weaken the metal and, using a special hammer, the dwarf king shaped the dark armour, containing both magical and strong abilities. But when the evil magician Dwernor heard of the new metal he took to seize the ores for himself, he attacked the king, almost killing him, as he lay on the ground the king used his special armour and trapped Dwernor in the armour, killing himself in the process. Before Dwernor attacked Koldagrim the king scattered about the meens of being able to use the dark ore. He gave the olde hammer to one of his lords, Flamush. He sealed the entrance to the dark ore cave. He took the shadow talisman from the evil wizards and gave them to the king of Ardoughe, it had been passed on since. And he gave the last remaining shadow rune to the king of Varrock. The dark pick was seale din the shadow realm for eternity.

 

 

 

Seeing as you now have the pick Sanafax is worried, he comes to the conclusion that the shadow realm must have been disturbed. He urges you to take the shadow talisman to the wizards tower and show Seridor. Passage to Koldagrim now costs 5k.

 

 

 

Seridor will tell you that the talisman is used to gain access to the shadow alter, where you can make shadow runes. He also explains that it is now forbidden as the shadow spells are too powerful and suck your life force away when used, you will explain the situation to him. Suddenly a suit of dark armour appears and starts cackling evily, it is Dwernor, he has managed to gain control over the suit, he will kill several wizards and Seridor will blast him, Dwernor will teleport away. Seridor says that the only way to destroy Dwernor would be to destroy the armour that he̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s wearing, he says that that would require shadow magic and dark armour. You need shadow magic to gain access to the dark ore cavern, Seridor will agree to teleport you to the Shadow realm, but he requires a shadow rune. Remembering the ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâmysterious rune̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ you took to Canifis for king Roald you get worried, it may already be in the shadow realm.

 

 

 

Hurrying to the shadow mansion you find Kidney unconscious, he tells you that some dark wizards came into their house, knocked him out and ran upstairs. There will be several high level dark wizards throughout the house, go into the shadow realm and you find Galingo and several dark wizards. Hw will tell you that the shadow rune has been fused into him to bring him back into a solid form, he is a mutated huge creature (lvl 185) Defeat him and the wizards and the rocks blocking of a corridor are destroyed, pick up the shadow rune Galingo dropped, I would suggest mining some shadow essence while you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re here. The corridor leads to a portal, stepping through it will lead you to Fenksteins room, you came through the portal there.

 

 

 

Seridor will teleort you to the shadow realm, there are loads of high levelled shadows about, make your way through the dungeon and use the shadow talisman with the mysterious stone. Make some shadow runes (lvl 60 rune crafting required). Take them back to Seridor and he will give you a magic page, allowing you to use shadow magic.

 

 

 

Go back to Koldagrim and use ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâshadow blast̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ (magic 60), this does 10 damage to you, on the pile of rocks blocking the entrance to the dark ore cavern, mine 14 ores with the dark pick (lvl 75 mining) (f helm, plate, legs, square shield, long sword.). You must then take the ores to Tungden, hw will wish you luck, using the ore in the ocean furnace will give you a bluey bar called a ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâunpure dark bar̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢. Then take it to Falmush and use the inferno furnace to get a ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâdark bar̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢. Talk Flamush and he will say he would be honoured if you take his ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâolde hammer̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢, use this with the dark bars on the anvil in Flamushs̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ house and get your dark armour (lvl 70 smithing) (lvl 60 attack, strength, defence and magic), mine some more shadow essence if you need more runes. Go back to Koldagrim and you will be attacked by dark wizards, signalling that Drewnor is near by, go into the dark ore cavern. Inside you will be confronted by Dwernor (lvl 207), you must get him down to low health and use shadow obliterate to kill him (70 magic, does 15 health to yourself). Kill him and he drops 50k, 100 shadow runes, Dwernors̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ hat (magic hat) and a ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâglowing orb̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢. Quest done, yay!

the quest is alright....i would reduce the 75 smithing to....65? 70? and i would add all the new spells the new spell book has...though i'd prefer if there was no new spell book because 3 is already enough and hard enough to switch between so maybe add only this spell to modern spell book?

Ok I changed the smithing to 70 and put it so there are only four shadow spells, they're in the normal spell book.

Ok I changed the smithing to 70 and put it so there are only four shadow spells, they're in the normal spell book.

alright what about explaining what each does? and what is requirement runes/mage lvl for each spell? whats the max hit? are tehre any effects? ETC ETC....

way too powerful...the max hit for mages at the moment is 30...so you add another 20? also the lvl 90 freezes and poisons? a bit too much...i suggest you think about it some more
