June 7, 200719 yr There are 20 Loopholes in the Senate Immigration Bill. Here is some of them. the link is to the other's.. Loophole 6 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ Some Child Molesters Are Still Eligible: Some aggravated felons ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ those who have sexually abused a minor ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ are eligible for amnesty. A child molester who committed the crime before the bill is enacted is not barred from getting amnesty if their conviction document omitted the age of the victim. The bill corrects this loophole for future child molesters, but does not close the loophole for current or past convictions. [see p. 47: 30-33, & p. 48: 1-2] Loophole 7 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ Terrorism Connections Allowed, Good Moral Character Not Required: Illegal aliens with terrorism connections are not barred from getting amnesty. An illegal alien seeking most immigration benefits must show ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Ågood moral character.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
June 7, 200719 yr You also have to remember this is just the first draft passed by the Senate, the House is probably going edit it extensively before it's passed. Gamertag: King Arizona
June 7, 200719 yr Even when it's passed, common law will fill in the gaps. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
June 7, 200719 yr This is an interesting read of some problems two Representatives have with the Bill and some very misleading things in the bill. THE SENATE AMNESTY BILL Summarized by Reps. Lamar Smith (R-TX) and Peter King (R-NY) A SUFFICIENT ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅTRIGGER̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
June 7, 200719 yr I got an idea. Everyone who came to the US a 100 yrs ago to now and is not From Mexico go back to your home countries, because Europe needs a population boost, and you can count on Americans to do that. Then give America to the Mexicans, rename it Mexerica, and then sit on our expensive sofa's in Europe and laugh. Problem solved. Me doing staff.
June 7, 200719 yr Governments always draft bills incorrectly because when it comes to law making they arn't the greatest people to do it. Thats why Judges can make common law to fill in the gaps, or clear up confusion made in a bill. June 8, 200719 yr I hear this bill is simply too large to be without its problems. each bill should address one issue and one issue only so any conciveable problem with it can be worked out. makeing a massive bill designed to cover everything is Crazy.... So Is Amnesty: If they came here Ilegialy they broke the law and should be delt with as any crinimal- I say deport the lot of them asap. Iv heard reports that Our Prisons are over run with Ilegial Aliens. as far as Im concerned thats a waste of tax payer money. where it up to me their country of origen would be informed of their crimes and they deported to their nations Authority's. the exception would be crimes commited against our Citizens and what ever else we agreed apon. I am speaking as an American Citizen who is sick and tired of porous boarders and a unresponcive goverment to a plauge of problems we now face. Bills should address one issue and one issue only. why not cover it case by case? What to do with Illegal Aleins who commit a felony besides breaking and Entering into our country? What to do with those who don't? How do we keep them out of our country? how do we get them out? these are all things that should be addressed one by one, one bill at a time- not in one large bill. June 9, 200719 yr Author So we can double post? Good to know if we can.. It's not dead. It's just being put aside for now, the bill is still alive and they could rather easy revote on it later. calling the nation's current immigration situation unacceptable, urged senators to try again to pass legislation that he described as imperfect but the best option available. his weekly Saturday radio address, Bush said the bill would not grant amnesty to illegal immigrants, that they would have to pay fines and take other steps to get on a path to legal status and possibly citizenship. "Securing the border and upholding family values are not partisan concerns," the president said. "They must be addressed, and this bill is the best way to do it." Bush recorded his address Friday in Germany where he was attending a summit with other world leaders. The White House and a bipartisan group of senators drafted the wide-ranging bill, but they could not overcome steady attacks from the left and right during weeks of Senate wrangling. When the Senate failed Thursday to end debate and schedule a vote, Democratic leaders set the bill aside with no promise of reviving it. Bush plans to lunch with Republican senators in the Capitol on Tuesday, part of a more hands-on approach to persuading party conservatives that the compromise bill is much better than the status quo. In his radio address, Bush acknowledged mistakes in handling immigration and pledged to improve the bill as it moves through Congress. "Today, illegal immigration is supported by criminal enterprises dedicated to document forgery, human trafficking, and labor exploitation," he said. "This is unacceptable, and we need to fix it in a way that honors our finest traditions." He said the bill "puts border security first, establishes a temporary worker program to meet the legitimate needs of our growing economy, sets up a mandatory system for verifying employment eligibility, and resolves the status of the estimated 12 million people who are here illegally." Conceding that a 1986 immigration overhaul largely failed, the president said his administration "is determined to learn from the mistakes of the past decades." The bill would double the number of Border Patrol agents, he said, build more border fences and employ infrared sensors and unmanned aircraft to detect illegal border-crossers. "Unlike the 1986 law, this bill gives honest employers the tools they need to ensure that they are hiring legal workers," Bush said, including "a tamper-resistant identity card." Businesses that "knowingly hire illegal aliens will be punished," he said. Addressing the word that has rallied the bill's opponents, the president said: "Amnesty is forgiveness with no penalty for people who have broken our laws to get here." The bill, he said, "requires illegal workers to pay a fine, register with the government, undergo background checks, pay their back taxes, and hold a steady job." If those immigrants eventually want a green card for permanent residence, he said, they will have to pay another fine, learn English "and return to their home country so they can apply from there." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070609/ap_ ... mmigration
June 9, 200719 yr You don't have to copy&paste every one of your posts. And for all intents and purposes the bill is dead. Sure they can re-vote, but if they couldn't compromise the first time, why would they change their minds? Gamertag: King Arizona
June 13, 200719 yr Author A senior US defense official today urged the Congress to fast track a section of the stalled immigration bill that would allow the military to recruit illegal aliens, after recruitment figures released by Pentagon showed that the Army failed to reach its targets for May. The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors, or DREAM, provision in the immigration bill was expected to help boost military recruiting by allowing illegal aliens to enlist as way to obtain citizenship, Bill Carr, acting deputy undersecretary of defense for military personnel policy, told a veterans̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ group representatives. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅIn other words, if you had come across (the border) with your parents, yet you were a minor child and have been in the U.S. school system for a number of years, then you could be eligible to enlist,̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
June 13, 200719 yr Think about this, non-US citizens wearing the uniform of American soldiers. I was under the impression that citizens of Puerto Rico can already join the US armed forces? These troops would be more likely to fire on US citizens and follow extreme orders. Er, why? Every empire, when it represses its own people, brings in foreign troops to do the job. Urban warfare drills we have covered over the years show that the military is being prepared for this. June 17, 200719 yr Author important conflict, the more significant battle underlying the immigration debate is between corporate America and America's middle class, or rather, between the globalists and the nationalists. The important question is: Why would the president of the United States and a number of leading Republicans in the Congress be so willing to stomp all over the conservatives and tear the Republican Party apart in their rush to be the architects of this so-called "Grand Immigration Compromise?" The answer lies in the ongoing fight between corporate America and America's middle class workers. This battle can also be characterized as a fight between those whose priority is globalization (the globalists) versus those whose priority is American sovereignty (the nationalists). The next most important (and related) priority of big business is to enable its labor force to move just as freely across national boundaries as trade and capital do. In concert with America's political and economic elite, big business wants a world without borders. Corporate America's fight to legalize America's 12 to 20 million illegal aliens is directly related to its desire to unify Canada, the U.S., and Mexico into a North American Union similar to the European Union. The ultimate goal is global governance and the withering away of national sovereignty. With the vastly lower cost of labor inherent in both of these big business priorities, corporate profits will soar, at least in the short term. http://www.thespectrum.com/apps/pbcs.dl ... /706170326
