What ever happened to Jagex creating an improved client?

Im sure most people remember all the mayhem that was caused around early March time when Jagex announced that third parties world switchers were from then on illegal. (They later compromised)

 

 

 

Does anyone remember Jagex telling us that they were creating a better Runescape browser so we had no need to worry that we could no longer use them.

 

 

 

The have created a world switching method and a mute music option but did anyone else also assume this would include Stat lookup options and calculator tools? Did Jagex lie about creating a new browser to quash the rebellion?

They did make world switcher illegal, but swiftswitch was updated not to have a world swicher which made it legal.

Well the stat look up is completely pointless when you can go to the high scores on the same site "boohooo 2 extra clicks!". The calculators would just be messed up, why would jagex make their own game completely readable back and forth? and it would pretty much eliminate the use of fan sites besides the quest guides.

 

 

 

Anyway, I don't understand the point of swift switch at all, does it really kill you to make 2-3 extra clicks? Kids these days.

It really bums me out because I have a Mac and they did make it more mac-friendly by not making you refresh every page but you still can't download the client because its and [Caution: Executable File] :(

Kids these days? Youre just sounding stupid. I like looking people up while I play .. I dont want to exit out of runescape and go to the highscores.

 

 

 

And my computer lags insanely bad if I open up another window but your expensive computer probobly works fine doing that.

 

 

 

And swiftswitch has an accurate price checker which i've been using a lot.

If you use Firefox, you can open tabs, that don't make it lag. That's what a couple of my friends do so they don't lag.

 

 

 

And in fact, when I tryed Swiftswitch for a bit, it only slowed down my computer so i deleted it.

Well i think what they did to the client was enough. I only use swifwitch on my moms computer, which is a Pc, so i don't go on Rs there alot and when i do use SS it is for the price guide which is very usefull. I perfer to stay on my mac. I was very happy though because throughout my entire RS career i could not listen to music ( i was able to listen to sound effects when they updated the game engine). So i'm pretty much happy with what i got.

Then you wouldnt be able to see your screen for like 30 seconds! You might get a random!

I've been using SwiftSwitch for a number of years. Incredibly useful for looking up opponents, prices, and planning skills. Hotkey for the Windows calculator is also very good. I don't see why so many of you hate it- it's made things a lot easier for me.

I've been using my own regardless of what Jagex says...It doesn't give me an unfair advantage, it just is much easier to double click an icon than to wait for the browser to load, type in RS, pick a world, et cetera.

I use a well known RS client :P because it has a built in IRC chat and make it much easy to communicate as a group.

 

Jagex said they were offering clan chat, but has anyone heard anything since?

they added a world switcher, the highscores just use the highscores page? lol its really not that much of a deal i see no reason to make a topic about this.
