I think the two biggest problems are that the elements all seem to be on different planes, and they do not integrate into eachother properly.

 

 

 

I didn't a really quick (crappy) edit to demonstrate how you could bring atmosphere to the character and make him part of the scene by changing the lightsource (to that of the erupting volcano, it's very hard to shade things on different planes). I just edited the skin btw. ;P

 

 

 

I suggest if you're going to shade, do it completely or not at all. Otherwise it looks like everything is made of cardboard, rather than simply 2d.

Yeah lovely dude, I noticed that as well. Especially Worth, when it comes to looking cardboardish. But I figured it looked alright enough to leave it alone, I'm happy. ;D Thanks for the edit, though. ;P

As for happy clouds, there was no sun in my sig, and I couldn't find a place for one. And seeing as how my suns are always so happy, I needed to substitute for something else ;P

put a sun with sunglasses!!! :lol:
