I just finished reading this on the Official Runescape Forums, and I was shocked. Here's the main post from the forum:

Well playing Runesape since i was 9, I'm now 13 and was supposed to start 7th grade next year but i've decided to drop out. My parents are perfectly fine with this and here's my reasoning:

I've learned good grammar from Runescape Runescape has taught me to save money, and work hard for it, It has taught me to be courteous and nice as i don't want to be muted and finnaly it taught me that fishing is a great career choise(I'm looking into becoming a fisherman)

So all in all, I've decided to drop out of school and play runescape for all day for 5 years untill im 18 and at that time ill become a fisherman.

I mean really... I really haven't read anything more ridiculous than this. First of all, he says that Runescape taught him good grammar, but he's not even using it; second of all, how can a game like this teach you that fishing is a great career choice? Runescape fishing relates only to real fishing in that you get fish out of it.

So the discussion here is, would you ever even consider this? What are your thoughts on this person's life plan?

If you go there good things will transpire.

Stopping ANYTHING irl for rs imo is a bad idea. playing 5+ hours a day is fine if you have nothing else to do, its when you start playing and stopping other things that it gets bad.

2. He has really laid back, rich parents...

3. He has idiotic parents that care nothing of his education.

4. I ran out of reasons for this guy/kid/idiot to do this stupid act.

Wow that might be the dumbest thing I've ever read.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Supreme Master of No-Lifing.

Expecting a good life because you're a good person is like expecting a bull not to charge because you're a vegetarian.

It's not a joke, he has 30 pages of replies, most people are slightly encouraging on rs forums, like wow i wouldn't do that, but fishing is cool so have fun. :-s Personally i think education is probably the most important thing you can get, because without it you can't get good jobs really and it helps you become smarter. :-k i donno this kid is gonna have an interesting life if he can ignore school for a computer game

brr im cold
you know there are children in africa with aids who would kill to be in your position
I don't care! Give me aids! I don't wanna b cold!

There's no doubt education is one of the most important things in your life.. You really should never stop the process of learning.

Drop out school for RS ? Stupidest thing ever. Seriously.

RL has to come before Runescape.

If you seriously believed this, he accomplished his mission in making the thread.

Quit RS, combat 104, total 1651

Im quite sure this guy is not kidding, you should take a look at his thread yourself, but it just got locked :-s look at it though, he does not seem kidding at all, like i said, he has 30 pages of posts, in which he argues with people and thanks them :uhh:

In england you have to go to school until you're 16 (apart fro serious circumstances)

I have a full time job and i'm going to university in september, giving up on hopes and dreams for runescape is just foolish imo

I attempted to launch a fart, only to have it get stuck between my cheeks.

you cant even legally drop out of high school until you are an adult...

I would like to congratulate you on showing everyone a 1 month old post on RSOF. That kid was joking to begin with and if you scroll down from his post, mine should be there. He was just looking for a reaction and he got it.

wow for believing him your dumber than he is. :wall:

from the length (short) and depth of thought (not much) put into your reply, i can tell that you havn't looked at his thread so a) why would you immediately assume both of us are dumb and B) maybe you should look at it, or in general look at / think about things before commenting on them

Whether or not he is really dropping out of school, i agree with what jmod posted after locking the thread

Yes I think it's quite clear he is trolling.
