June 24, 200719 yr I know a lot of people who make steel bars and smith them into plates, but if you can do mith plates, you should just focus on that. on times...i really have no clue Retired from runescape. I will be on every now and then though. :)

Works very well if you buy the bars but very expensive and the bars are hard to find. Edit: I'm talking about the mith plates ;).

June 24, 200719 yr ~Mine Granite until 99 Mining. It's as fast as Iron, but 3x to 5x more Experience. Gold Ores to Bars should take you from 70 to 86 Smithing.~
June 24, 200719 yr Author Yes granite is good but id be dropping the ores and getting no smithing exp from the ores i mined. True it would get me to 99 fast but in smithing i would have to buy all my items. You say gold ore all the way to 86 but that would mean at least 50k gold ore with goldsmith gloves. 50k gold ore cost about 25m and i dont have that much money. I have 5m and if there is a way to magically make 30m out of 5m I would do it. (30m b/c I want 5m left over). Also gold bars are very hard to sell...even at 150ea so thats out of the question. Next suggestions please elaborate on what I have posted on original post.
June 24, 200719 yr Simply mine the gold yourself. Then either sell the bars, craft them for a ton of crafting levels, or smith golden bowls out of them for extra smithing exp. If you craft or smith with them, alch whatever you make for some nice mage exp. As a bonus, craft your own nats so you end up making some money and rc exp. Check out this cool browser gladiator game!
