You have some strong points, but I disagree though. That's because I'm in favour of the hated lucky "level 77". This way, they also have a way to get a visage! Which otherwise would have taken ages for him. It'll still be for the majority, but I think they should have a change of getting one.

When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done.

And that is why I NEVER stake. I've been beaten countless times by people with over 5m less combat exp in EACH STAT than I have.... Plain and simple, PvP in this game is bullcrap. Hell, I was fighting a level 111 in f2p and being beaten badly by him, even though I was praying and I am level 122 with MAXED ****ING MELEE stats.

:( I can relate. I once went to kill cave horrors for that mask. Spent 4 days there, killed over 1k of them. all of a sudden my friend joins me. He spends only half on hour there killed only 23 and got it :-s

Man it was sad for me. Then the fire giants are always worse. I once went there to kill them with my brother (about 10 lvs lower than me) I killed about 3 before he killed one. He got a rune scimmy, tons of fire runes, and many chaos. I only had coins and bones :-s after 30 kills...

:| I have tried killing steel dragons. It was going well, great exp and all. After killing about 230 something a guy comes in and joins me. He kills 20 something and gets a dragon skirt. Teles away and comes back. WE keep killing them and he gets another after 75 or so kills... :-s

This "luck" system must favor some over others. I have killed many more times what others do. I have put more effort forth than others. I have spent days where others spend hours. I have not gotten anything better than the one flail at barrows after my 40 something run. I have done over 150 runs since than and best I have are bloods and bolt racks.

I hate the luck system and yet I keep trying, I even wonder why sometimes #-o

Yes, and one of my friends got 3 guth spears, a veracs helm, dharok helm, and other lesser items all in the past week. All in his past 100 runs. <.<

The russian roulette one... Where he clicks twice then points it at his eye, looks down the barrel, clicks it again and it blows him apart.

how about keeping a luck system, but having changing odds. As you kill more of the monster, or whatever, the chance increases of getting a 'rare' drop. Once you get the drop the count is reset. That way you would still have the suspense, but could be assured that by killing lots your chances are slowly increasing.

I generally have pretty atrocious luck. Apart from the two guthan's spears I got in a row  Part of that might be that I don't have the patience needed to do the same thing for hours and hours on end. I find it depressing that while I've killed hundreds already, I might get that good drop in the next 2, or the next 100, or thousand.

Also, there should be more untradeable stuff. For instance lvl 90+ slayer drops that are really, really good, and noticeable. Or have requirements on their use - eg can only be traded between those with the ability to get one themself. I wouldn't stand a chance of ever getting something like that myself of course. But I would respect those who had one because of it, instead of just respecting wealth.

I have to get practically naked when I'm cooking bacon.

I may be immature, but that made me laugh!

Topic not read, only first post.

Has Jagex NO creativity at all in putting new items into the game? I mean... couldn't they come up with SOME method of allowing these interesting new items to be obtained other than a lucky drop? Is luck all they want to encourage in this game?

Okay, first of all, I'd like YOU to come up with such a method. The mithril scale idea would only be in favor of your topic if it was a 100% drop, but then it would be a rush to kill a lot of mithril dragons. You see, if someone can kill one mithril dragon, they will most likely be able to kill 499 more (or they'll just retreat from the mith dragon place if they can't, retaining 1 useless mithril scale). So it will shift from luck to free time, which is even worse. Same goes for everything else. Rs is too much about whose parents allow their kids to stay up more anyways, or what kind of job does someone have, much more than about skill. They could make a minigame, but releasing a bleeping minigame for every piece of dragon stuff would be an outrage, and it would be most likely too easy, or free time-centred, anyways.

Oh, okay, I did glance at qeltar's post. Chess is also a bit about luck, the opponent you get is about luck after all, no? :XD:
