I think it'd be a nice feature to draw attention to people who might not otherwise delve that far into the event forum to find out about events. If they just see that an event is starting soon on the top of the form index page, click the link, they'll find out a lot about the team and maybe attend an event when they otherwise might not know about the team's existence. Granted this might bring an influx of people who just tag along and basically make unneeded noise, so it'd need to be tinkered with if implemented. I know we have a countdown on the page of the event but other places are more attention getting, like the forum index and the main page. Perhaps in red/bold.
