August 2, 200718 yr Great guide, thanks for all the helpful tips and hints :) Fishing there as I'm writing this.
August 3, 200718 yr personally i got 91 fishing off this method... and will likely never do it again lol Why not? I love that video guide, nice guide 8/10. I am fishing there as I type this. 94/99 fishing. 8-)
October 28, 200718 yr I have some numbers to support this guide. This is the xp I (lvl 78 fishing) gained in an hour: - 3932 Str and Agil xp - 6380 Cooking xp - 43400 Fishing xp that's a total of 57644 XP an hour And about the loss of cooking xp: you also have to consider the time you save with this method, look how much money you can make in that time. I think you can buy enough fish for cooking from the money you can make in that time to make up for the "loss". I don't know how much fishing xp you can get at shilo exactly, but assuming that the 38k an hour mentioned by hooya is correct, you get >5k xp an hour more xp with barbarian rod fishing. Assuming you start rodfishing at lvl 70 it will take 286 hours (43k xp an hour) to reach lvl 99 fishing. From lvl 70 to 99 takes 323 hours (38k xp an hour). That's a difference of 37 hours. And that is not taking into account the tame you save training the other skills you get experience in (a total of around 1.1 mil xp for Str and agil and 1.8 mil xp for cooking). A rough estimation (not sure about the exact numbers) tells me that you will get around 17 mil xp from cooking salmon and trout you catch in Shilo (starting from lvl 70 fishing). So you have to get 16 mil cooking xp in order to make up for the loss. You could do this for example by cooking lobs. Cooking lobs will cost you 50 coins for 120 xp (buyin raw for 250 and selling them for 200). So it will cost you around 6,6 mil coins to compensate the loss in xp. If you only take into consideration the time saved by barbarian fishing, this means you have to earn 178k an hour to afford it. I can do that easily (runecrafting nats gets me at least 200k an hour). And things get even better if you take into consideration the time saved in training agillity and strength. And cooking lobs is faster xp, so you save time doing this as compared to cooking salmon and trout on top of it. I think the point is proven: barbarian rodfishing is superior to Shilo flyfishing.
June 9, 200917 yr Also, for the people below 70, I think you should get enough offcuts that if you keep picking them up after a load (hopefully they don't disappear) you can re-fill with offcuts till yo uget nearly a full load of non-stack bait. Then drop offcuts, fish, then pick up offcuts, and refill after cutting. It might work well enough. That is unless at you really do fail more than that?
