August 4, 200718 yr Author Looks like my laptop's RAM hasn't fried but I need to replace a failing graphics card! *Sigh* Unfortunately the warantee on my laptop expired last year so it'll be expensive to get it replaced.   Time to call up the computer store down the street to see if they can help me with it. November 2, 200718 yr Author Hey all, looks like my hiatus is over but my membership has expired. For now, I'll be sticking to F2P and training some neglected skills like Firemaking and runecrafting some basic runes. So, since my cash flow is once again positive, I'll renew my membership around December. November 10, 200718 yr Author Gratz to see you back ! hope you recover from hiatus and get back and rock and roll once more! :D Thanks Zed! Hiatus isn't a disease though. It just means "a break or an interruption in the continuity of work, series, action etc". Currently I've dug myself in for some well needed Fire Making training. You can find me at Rimmington cutting and burning willow trees. So far, I've trained my Fire Making to lvl-70 and my Wood Cutting to lvl-75. I'm aiming for lvl-75 Fire Making by December to unlock Magic Log burning. If I'm feeling very ambitious, I'll push for lvl-80 Fire Making or as close to it as possible. November 25, 200718 yr Author I've finally reached lvl-75 Firemaking. I guess I'll now start chopping and burning Yews and slowly get myself to lvl-80 Firemaking and unlock Magic Pyre Logs. November 28, 200718 yr Author Gl with all of your goals rcing is phun! Thanks for the encouragement! Speaking of Runecrafting, I've tried out the Grand Exchange and it is absolutely amazing! I sold 5K of Law runes at the market price and made over 1.2M gp. Being an avid runecrafter, I quickly reinvested and stockpiled on huge quantities of rune and pure essence. The reason why I bought rune essence is because I'm currently on the free worlds and I still occasionally make basic runes. Here's a few thoughts after going on the Grand Exchange: - Currently, rune essence is 25gp each - All basic elemental runes sell for 12gp each - Since my runecrafting is lvl-65, I can multi-craft 6 Air runes per rune essence - For each rune essence I buy, I can squeeze out a maximum profit of 47gp Knowledge is Power; a Tip.it guide answers many commonly asked questions.~Celestrana: Making of a Hero ~ (Visit my blog, today!)
December 3, 200718 yr Author Well folks, I've decided to make an important change to my Nature runecrafting routine and invest in some Glory amulets, but I am not using the Abyss and instead I'm using a method that's slightly slower than the Abyss and extremely safe. Here's what I did today. I visited the Grand Exchange and took out 2K Law runes from my bank and sold it all for around 600K gp. Then, taking another 100K gp from my bank, I bought 14 Glory Amulets and went to the Hero's Guild to get them recharged and went to Edgeville. So, here's my new Nature runecrafting route, and I've tested it and found that it was 2 or 3 seconds slower than using the Abyss. 1. Starting at Edgeville, load up on essence from your bank and fill up pouches. So far I can only use up to the Large pouch. 2. Run north to the bridge, cross it and then south to the Fairy Ring. 3. Use the Fairy Ring code C-K-R (clicks: 2-2-2) and teleport to the Karamja Jungles. 4. Run through the Jungle and to the Nature Altar. 5. Make your Nature runes and Glory back to Edgeville. 6. Repeat #1 to #5. Guys, go ahead and try it out! Knowledge is Power; a Tip.it guide answers many commonly asked questions.~Celestrana: Making of a Hero ~ (Visit my blog, today!)
December 5, 200718 yr Author This week I've decided to work on my Hunting and train it up to lvl-69 so that I can catch Dashing Kebbits and make myself a Spottier cape. As you can see, I'm constant supplementing my runecrafting with my other skills, so next I'll probably train Agility up a level or two at the Brimhaven Agility course. Short term goals: 1. Lvl-69 Hunting for Dashing Kebbits and Spottier capes. I always make extras of everything for accidental deaths and bank placeholders. 2. One full Agility level at Brimhaven course, hopefully this will help me rack up plenty of tickets. December 14, 200718 yr Author I'm shocked with disbelief in that I cannot readily buy huge amounts of pure essence from the Grand Exchange due to lack of stock! It looks like I might not be able to train runecrafting as quickly as I had hoped although I still have 9K pure essence and 5K rune essence in my bank. I suppose I can replenish my stock of basic runes and Law runes, then go to the Mage Training Arena to use them all. Speaking of the Mage Training Arena, I've recently purchased a Mud Battlestaff so that I can use Bones to Banana and Bones to Peaches in the Graveyard Arena. This means I'll have to further increase my stock of Nature runes, after I do some quick number crunching to determine how much I'll need. Since I'm having trouble buying pure essence, and I'm sick of mining it, I've decided to train Slayer. So far I've been assigned at least two Blue Dragon tasks. With some persistence and smart Slayer training, I'll get to Gargoyles so that I can resupply myself with their pure essence drops. December 21, 200718 yr Author Hey all, just another update here. I've finally managed to buy pure essence from the Grand Exchange yesterday for 117gp each. This is higher than I'd like to buy pure essence at since I've managed to buy it at 88gp when the Grand Exchange was released. I'm still kicking my own behind for not super stockpiling pure essence when it was still dirt cheap. Recently I've been training Slayer and getting my three melee combat skills up as well. My current Slayer task are Spiritual Rangers in the GWD. I'm almost finished with that task but I'm burning through so many prayer potions. :( So, it looks like I'll need to start training Farming and Herblore to replenish my supply of potions. December 27, 200718 yr Author Hey all, Just a quick update before I hit the sack! For the last few days I've been hunkered down at the Mage Training Arena, burning through my supply of Law runes. So far I've used up nearly 2K Law runes and have 1004 Telekinetic Pizzaz points, which looks like I just need a few more hours to get my required total of 1500. When I'm done at the Telekinetic Theater, I might sell off 1K of my Law runes to get some quick cash, since I've been recently buying seeds and other necessities. In between all this, I've been busy planting herb seeds at My Arm's disease-free herb patch on top of Trollheim mountain and replanting my Cactus patch whenever I am able. So far I've managed to farm a sizable stock of herbs that I can use to gain one or two herblore levels; I just need to grow or gather the seconds. After my long stint at the Mage Training Arena and finally buying my Infinity Set, I predict that I will have around lvl-80 Magic when I'm done. Anyways, I'm off to bed. Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year everyone! Cele Knowledge is Power; a Tip.it guide answers many commonly asked questions.~Celestrana: Making of a Hero ~ (Visit my blog, today!)
December 31, 200718 yr Author Just another update: I've spent the last two and a half days at the Mage Training Arena and I've racked up 11K + Enchantment pizzaz points. Tomorrow, I'll continue with the Enchantment arena and get another 4K Enchantment points and start on either the Alchemist arena or the Graveyard arena. I think the Graveyard arena might go faster than the Alchemist arena, so I'll go get the Graveyard points first. January 4, 200818 yr Author nice plan, gl on full infinity, I barely got the boots lol Thanks for the encouragement! Currently I'm taking a small break from the Mage Training Arena; it's not as "stress free" as I thought since I have to be paying attention almost 100% of the time at the various arenas. Just last night I've finished the new quest "Dealing with Scabaras" and once again can wear my Quest cape, at least until next week or whenever the Summoning intro quest comes out. I suppose I'll head back to the Mage Training Arena and into the Graveyard arena, since I only have about 200 points. I have a feeling I'll need to make more Nature runes before I can continue with the Alchemy arena. January 8, 200818 yr Author With pure essence at about 150gp each, I've come to realize I need some form of reliable income to support my training at the Mage Training Arena. Taking a look at my skills and searching through my bank, I finally remember that my fletching was close to lvl-70, I had a decent supply of yew logs for yew shortbows and a cache of flax that needed spinning. So, I decided to revive the olde fletching routine and started fletching yew shortbows and High Alching them. If I do this wisely, I can level up my Woodcutting by cutting Yew trees, Crafting since I have some flax left, Fletching to get myself to making Magic bows, Magic since I'll be High Alching my fletching products and Runecrafting when I go and make Nature runes. It's a good thing I'm roughly a third of my way through the Graveyard points but I'm sure I'll need to make more Nature runes to continue with the Alchemy arena since I'm using Bones to Peaches instead of Bones to Bananas. Bones to Peaches gives slightly more exp than Bones to Bananas at the cost of two Nature runes but it allows me to stay in the Graveyard arena indefinitely. If my numbers are correct, then I'll need a total of 3K Nature runes to complete the Graveyard arena. June 19, 200818 yr Author It's unfortunate that some of my blog entries were unrecoverable even when using the Google cache. June 19, 200818 yr Author For those of you that frequents Tip.its unofficial clan chat, I've been devoting my time to training farming and herblore. Farming is an incredibly easy skill to train but many players complain that it's boring or for some strange reason, too difficult. The key to farming -- at least for me -- is to utilize farmer payments, even if it means spending some time gathering the payments in any way you can. Tip.it's farming guide has all the farmer payments neatly written out in tables but it sometimes help to see it in a graphical form. << TODO: insert farmer payment tree >> Its best to keep this farmer payment tree handy for quick reference because even an expert farmer might not remember every single payment amount. You should also note that all of the farmer payments come from allotment plants and fruits from fruit trees so its a good idea to bank your harvests. This means spending a bit of time buying huge amounts of baskets to store fruits. Keep in mind that farmers accept their payments in noted form. Another key to farming is to use multiple patches, which means traveling across Runescape! You might think to yourself, "But who will watch my plants while I'm gone?" Well, that's why I talked about farmer payments first. Pay your farmer and you won't have to worry about watching the plants yourself. You don't get xp from watering your plants so why bother? Using multiple patches effectively requires the use of teleport spells, jewelry, items and clothes. Here's what you should have that will cover my farming route: [hide=Essential farming inventory]- Ectophial: teleports to Port Phasmatys - Tine Elf Crystal (3): provides three teleports to Lleyta and you can recharge it by paying Eluned. I recommend killing a horde of elves and getting a nice stack of these crystals. - Law runes: a nice stack of these is a must, the more the merrier. - Steam runes/Steam battlestaff: spend a bit of time runecrafting these yourself or buy the battlestaff. Either way, you'll need it since it will cover most of the teleport spells in conjunction with Air runes. - Air runes/Air staff: runecraft them or buy a huge stack of these since you'll need them for the majority of the teleport spells. Remember, you can only hold *one* staff for rune replacement so its either Steam runes + Air staff *or* Steam battlestaff + Air runes. - Ring of Dueling: takes you to Castle Wars for quick banking before teleporting to the Trollheim herb patch. This also teleports you to the Dueling Arena for the Cactus patch if you want to use it as well. - Karamja Gloves 3: These gloves are optional since my route goes from Ardougne to Brimhaven for the fruit tree. - Woodcutting axe: to cut those fruit trees and trees so that you can replant them. Growing trees is your main staple when it comes to farming xp.[/hide] [hide=Other farming items]- Gee pee: you'll need this to either pay for the ship ride to Brimhaven from Ardougne or pay for the cart ride from Shilo Village to Brimhaven. - Earth runes: a nice stack of these to teleport to Lumbridge so that you can use the tree patch west of Lumbridge castle. - Energy potions/Super Energy potions: if you want to complete your farming route quicker, gulp some doses down. Just keep it in your bank and drink it whenever you're depositing harvests or withdrawing a sapling.[/hide] Now, the pièce de résistance, the farming route itself! The list format is as follows: Farming patch, teleport method, what you're planting/harvesting, banking needs. Allotment/Herb/Flower/Fruit tree/Tree Route: - Port Phasmatys > Ectophial > allotment/herb/flower - Catherby > Camelot teleport (1 Law, 5 Air) > allotment/herb/flower > *bank to deposit harvests, withdraw fruit tree* - Catherby/White Wolf Mountain > hoof it > fruit tree - The Grand Tree > gnome glider > fruit tree/tree *bank to deposit harvest, withdraw fruit tree and tree* - The Tree Gnome Village > Spirit tree > fruit tree - Falador > Falador teleport (1 Law, 3 Air, 1 Water) > tree/allotment/herb/flower > *bank to deposit harvest, withdraw tree* - Lleyta > Tiny Elf Crystal > fruit tree > *bank to deposit harvest* - Trollheim > Trollheim teleport (2 Law, 2 Fire) > disease-free herb patch - Ardougne > Ardougne teleport (2 Law, 2 Water) > allotment/herb/flower > *bank to deposit harvests, withdraw money for Brimhaven boat ride* - Brimhaven > Ardougne-Brimhaven boat ride *or* Karamja Gloves 3 teleport and cart ride > fruit tree - Taverly > Ring of Dueling to Castle Wars + Hot Air Balloon (normal log) > tree *bank at Castle Wars to deposit harvest, withdraw tree* - Varrock > Varrock teleport (1 Law, 3 Air, 1 Fire) > tree *bank to deposit harvest, withdraw tree, withdraw Earth rune* - Lumbridge > Lumbridge teleport (1 Law, 3 Air, 1 Earth) > tree If you really need it, I'll spruce up the route with a few aerial maps to show where I'm running after arriving at each town/city.
