Letters to the Editor #3 (15-Jul-2007)

Featured Replies

These letters were very intriguing....

Well, not really. In fact the second letter was horribly written and useless. We all have DIFFERENT reasons for playing Runescape. I for one know it helped me with typing immensly. This game made me the top in my class for Wpm. I also play because it keeps me in contact with far away friends.

Is this game all that fun? Well.. for the most part no. We spend most of our time gathering the resources to have this so called "fun". Haha the game is a lot like real life.

The first letter was fine, just didn't say much. It is important for everyone to report any kind of abuse.

Did You Know...

... unless you are in the wilderness, monsters will not attack you if you are more than 2x their combat level?

It is 2x +1 isn't it?

Read carefully-hne said 'MORE THAN 2x' which is 2x+1

ON topic: good article, the new detection systems need your help!

Yeah...Some people just go out of their way to ruin other peoples fun.
Sounds like Jagex to me...

I loved both articles, some very good points were actually made. I still report autoers everyday and will continue to do so. I can't deny that our economy also depends alot on autoers, but there's just too many of them, I mean we just have to STOP doing things cause there's no place for us to do it anymore. People start skipping this quiet good blue dragon task just because gu'tanoth is full of autoers and gold farmers. And soon they will realise that with all the irl and ingame they make by autoing is worth nothing as they'll end up in a community with only other autoers.

I don't report autoers because we all know that Jagex doesn't ban them. The guy put hopefull at the end of his letter because he hopes they might start actually caring. If Jagex really cared about the game (and themselves for that matter) they would just stick a mod in every non member world to ban the autoers at yews. They would get rid of far more autoers than they do on members not to mention they still get the autoers money from the member autoers.

And yes, RS has no eductional benifit. Any game multiplayer game you play on the internet or chat board you visit increase your typing ability. "Video games are benifical to my studies because they help me move my fingers faster so I can write quicker!!" No... You waste your time on the video games and it doesn't make a difference how fast you can write or type because your spending more time "getting better" than it would to just do it in the first place.

On a side note though, I am hopeful as well that Jagex actually starts banning autoers. I had a woodcutting pure with 60+ wc for yews but it was such a waste of time because I could hardly get any logs because of the mass autoers. I now might spend like 1 hour a week at willows just to reminice.

If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.

^^^At least I'm not the only crazy one

i still dont get this "report all autoers" thing. how do you know they're autoers? just because they're doing stuff over and over again dosnt nessecarily mean they auto or are in a sweatshop. we cant tell a true cheater just by logging on, it takes Jagex's detiction stuff to prove it.
