justcallmedaddy
I agree with the guy who says runescape isn't educational, it's not. It may give you a brief idea of how economy works, but that is it.
rareghoul1
I agree with the guy who says runescape isn't educational, it's not. It may give you a brief idea of how economy works, but that is it. that's completely true, the economy is run by rares and 10 year olds, nothing like the real economy except that prices can and will shift. MistressGlo
=D> kudos for saying that we still need to report autoers. I see them so much now i feel as if rs has been taken over by them. In fact it has made me consider quitting rs. I tried reporting a group of autoers that were cutting yews by the farming patch at fally and after i reported two of them i got a message from jagex saying not to abuse the reporting system. :wall: That made me mad because the autoers are taking over everything from tree cutting to picking flax and mining essence. I hope Jagex makes more changes quick. This should not be allowed to continue. :shame:

Anthony8150
Mmmmm..these letters were tasty. A quick side note, my friend made a list of 2,000 autoers and sent a query to jagex. Jagex wrote back saying something along the lines of, there are too many non-members to pay attention to you, so you should become a member. :XD: I is a genius! It is 2x +1 isn't it? Yes , not to mention that some monsters are aggressive REGARDLESS of your lvl. Rock Crab , bandits etc MORE THAN 2x their combat level. Level 40 monster. Times to is 80. You must be HIGHER than 80 for it to stop being aggressive towards you. And as for the other monsters, they aren't aggressive unless you provoke them. For example, wearing god armor near a bandit, or stepping next to a rock crab. If you're going to correct someone, at least do it correctly. Want to learn to Nex? The Nex Hunters are recruiting! Sorator
Kudos to you, Flabberwocky. As a p mod I get to see more of what Jagex does against macros than most players (but we still dont' see everything) and you're right; they do a huge amount against them. The ones you see in-game are the ones they missed. Think about how many that means there are in total. Now try thinking about trying to deal with that many. Big job, eh? :P So thanks, for giving TB@JT some well-deserved thanks, and for trying to get more players to do their share and report what they see. ;) Obtained quest cape and base 92 before obtaining any 99s! Currently finishing out my 99s with the (long-distant) goal of comp cape.
CheeseBap
Did You Know... ... unless you are in the wilderness, monsters will not attack you if you are more than 2x their combat level? Behind_you0
Did you know that.. The dogs in Brimhaven are annoying for their level. They are 63, which means: 63x2 = 126, and you have to be higher then 126. Dragonmaker9
In response to the second letter. I actually think it degrades typing, I started writing "u" in letters and forum posts (I don't anymore, I stopped playing RuneScape for a month and joined seven forums, to improve my spelling). However, RuneScape has helped me understand many things. For example, I never knew Bronze was made from copper and tin, nor how to take fingerprints. When both those questions have come up in science exams, RuneScape has helped more than the revision books. Sure I got most of the info from the revisipn books, but edutainment is better than any other form revision, as we remeber what we find fun more than anything else. Of course, I play RuneScape for fun too, but even when it helps me for small things (like mentioned above), RuneScape is educational. Wether you learn how to spell "Wise" from speaking to the Wise old Man", to learning what the icon for a feather is on RuneScape to learning that copper and tin make bronze. All these things are educational, some more helpful than others. Runescape Stats: Every stat on highscores! My website.
DTienjo2
Who cares if RS is educational or having an economy mostly by macroers? The main idea for JaGeX is to have our money (no, rly?). we only play runescape because it's fun :) . D Tienjo2 Google gone l33t! 57/75 rc. 63/76 fish. Getting 50 range and 70 str too. nadir
to report more than 1 player ingame (for any reason) you have to wait 1 minute between reports. there is a way to report more than 1 player. read the last post here yes sadly there are way too many players that (i think they) are bots. report them? i tried that. but i think it's already beyond needing reported. anyone walking in members in lumby forest, or draynor, or south fally, even in catherby yews/flax is bound to see some (many) lvl 3 combat player that just cuts yews/picks flax for a looong time. what to report then? hey, jagex, check out lumby forest, draynor and catherby in all worlds, you are bound to find at least 10 in each world in each of those places! PastyGangsta
just read it. I still report every single autoer/sweatshop worker I see. What do you report a sweatshop worker under? Real world trading, because they sell the gold. I've always reported autoers, and I will never stop (hopefully if enough get banned the price of yews will go up and I can make a bigger profit) Money = Good
frogmann2
Saying runescape is "educational" is just putting yourself in denial about wasting your time on it. Your trying to justify your scimping on school work by thinking "It doesn't matter, runescape is educational." Oh and monsters won't attack you if you are twice their level plus one. It is impossible to exaggerate the unimportance of almost everything.
Zantareous
I liked the first letter, well written and thought through, I greatly agree with the opinions of the writer. The same didn't go for the second letter. It was short, not much thought went into it quite obviously, and it didn't seem very well written. And I'd have to contradict the second letter as well. Although I agree that people don't play RuneScape for educational reasons and that they may be using that as an excuse to be playing, I doubt many people play RuneScape for fun. RuneScape is fun for maybe the first year/few months, but after that it's just a bunch of repeated tasks that test your endurance and stamina. Thank-you for the read just the same, ~Zanty
