July 16, 200719 yr Dragon longsword isn't as fast as the scimmy but has a attacking special that can hit 4 times. The scimmy is faster though and is almost as strong as teh longsword but the special is only useful when somebody has prayer on and not a lot of monsters use prayer Maybe this helps And the cavemen wondered how to make fire...Im in the .00001% that finds Firemaking fun. The longsword has an awesome special, and the scimmy special is completely useless to someone who doesn't pk, like me. July 16, 200719 yr scim is a bit faster and its more accurate, and tests show that you get more xp from scim, but the long has 4 good specials, so scim for training
July 17, 200719 yr I have pretty much the same question. I have 60 attack and have been using a rune scimi. What is a good first dragon weapon? I have done Lost City, but haven't done Monkey Madness. If it makes any difference, I don't go in the wilderness or stake.
July 17, 200719 yr Scimitar looks cooler, it's a better accomplishment. It's also faster than the longsword, and nearly as accurate - allows for faster training. However, the longsword is a wee bit more accurate (not really enough for a big difference), and the special attack is much better than the scimitar's for NPC killing. I prefer the scimitar because of its speed, and it's nearly as accurate as the longsword. Plus it looks cool. :P Sig credit goes to ThruItAll. :D

July 18, 200719 yr I'd suggest long, as monkey madness is a BIG pain of a quest to do. (It's also one of the hardest quests, in the game, let alone annoying). :ohnoes:My Guide on Obby Mauling!
