The scimmy is faster though and is almost as strong as teh longsword but the special is only useful when somebody has prayer on and not a lot of monsters use prayer Maybe this helps And the cavemen wondered how to make fire...Im in the .00001% that finds Firemaking fun. I personally have both but use my d long. The longsword has an awesome special, and the scimmy special is completely useless to someone who doesn't pk, like me. It's also faster than the longsword, and nearly as accurate - allows for faster training. However, the longsword is a wee bit more accurate (not really enough for a big difference), and the special attack is much better than the scimitar's for NPC killing. I prefer the scimitar because of its speed, and it's nearly as accurate as the longsword.
