look_its_rob
yea but what if each team has one best player? and all of their best players are better than all of the other conferences best players. that doesn't mean any one of the teams in one conference is better than the other. and maybe the teams dont play the other conference very often. but still just look at the records of inter-conference games from last year.(including the finals.) Look its rob!
azntemplar_00
you cant decide which conference is better through an allstar gane :wall: Why is that? Standings can't be decided throu each conference because they barely face the western teams, vise versa. All star game is The Best of the Players on Eastern Confernce, and the best out of the Players of the West The all-star game is a publicity event - hence the term 'all-star weekend'. Just because you take the top (most popular) players from each conference and stick them together on the court means nothing. Basketball is a team sport - hence I determine the strength of the conference based on the quality of the teams, not players. And the all-stars aren't going full out the entire game like they would in a real one. Quite often, even if it's only a quarter or two, there's some playing around involved - nothing too serious. They really only start stepping it up near the end of the game.

look_its_rob
In short term, the celts got the better team. in long term the timberwolves got the better deal. But i think if you are always preparing for the future, you are never gonna win which is why im glad the celts did this. we still need a pg though :wall: and no money to spend Look its rob! runescapeloser22
The Minnesota-Boston deal, I think they both got what they need. Minnesota got a bunch of rookies who will eventually become very good, and help the Timberwolves in the long run. Boston will now be a tough team to be with Pierce, Allen, and now Garnett! But, in the long run, I think Minnesota got the better deal. Garnett, like other "old" players will eventually become worse and worse, while the rookies that were traded to Minnesota are young and will only get better, which will give them good players and the opportunity to trade. azntemplar_00
The thing is, these rookies better end up getting something accomplished, otherwise Minnesota has just traded for Ainge's unsuccessful strategy (over the past four years) of stock-piling young talent. azntemplar_00
unsuccessful? seems pretty successful to me, we just got two amazing players. I think you've missed my point. Ainge drafted all that young talent for the future. They've clearly not developed fast enough for Pierce's patience (playoffs anybody?), and hence you trade them away. I'm quite sure it wasn't Ainge's original intention to do this - it's just that if he didn't, he'd probably lose Pierce and not have anyone capable of carrying the team left. kido14
Boston, although they pretty much both got what they needed Last.fm: http://www.last.fm/user/Aaronm14/MY FAVORITE BAND:http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... d=64310717And the bible is the big book of lies, call me a racist if you must. djo0
I think Minnesota nad Boston got what they needed. With three stars, Boston will become an instant playoff contender, though I doubt that they can take it all the way. Minnesota gets alot of new talent, but they are gonna be pretty bad this season . If the new guys don't produce in a few years, then they could end up looking like total idiots. Still, Garnett was doing nothing for the T-wolves and I do agree that it was time to try a different strategy. martinisback
I dont think Conley will be what Paul Is/and will be. Paul will be a top 3 pg in the next few years, right now hes probably 4th-5th best. I think Conley will score less. --Quit--(As of December 22th, 2007)
