martinisback
Poll # 1: The Majority of the People Think Boston & Minnesotia got the better of the blockbuster deal Poll # 2: Most people Predict Memphis Grizzles will be the worst team in the Nba -in the - 07/08 season. Poll # 3 Question: Most People Believe New Jersey Or Boston will win the Atlantic. Hello, I have created this thread to bring the biggest and best Nba Fans here to discuss and debate! On this thread talk about all Nba related info! From Trades, Signings, to Retirement or Injuries! Also..What postions do you think the teams will stand out this year? My predictions: Eastern Conference: - - - - - - - - - - - ---- 1.Detriot Pistions 2.New Jersey Nets 3.Miami Heat 4.Cleveland Cavilaiers 5.Boston Celtics 6.Wasington Wizards 7.Toronto Rapters 8.Chicago Bulls 9.Orlando Magic 10.New York Knicks 11.Phillidelphia 76ers 12.Indinia Pacers 13.Charolette Bobcats 14.Atlanta Hawks 15.Milawakue Bucks -> The Eastern Conference this year will be MUCH better then the West. For the past decade or so, the West has totally dominated the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Atlantic Division, who the last 1-2 years were known as the worst, have gotten way better. As Kevin Garnett, Jason Richardson, Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, Zach Randolph enter our Conference, we have finally been the better of the two sides. I think the Atlantic Division this year has a chance of all their teams making it, its tough though but I had to put the Knicks outside of the picture. I am a New Jersey Nets fan by the way:P WESTERN CONFERENCE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 1. Phoneix Suns 2. Dallas Mavericks 3. San Antionio Spurs 4. Denver Nuggets 5. Golden State Warriors 6. Houston Rockets 7. Utah Jazz 8. New Orleans Hornets 9. Los Angeles Lakers 10.Portland Trailblazers 11.Sacremento Kings 12. Minniesotia-TimberWolves 13. Seattle Supersonics 14. Los Angeles Clippers 15. Memphis Grizzles *Bold= Make Playoffs * -> The West this year seems to be a lot weaker, and I don't see the standings changing must from last year. I think the Hornets will get better with their future players, and the new additions of Mo-Pete. This also might be a Lakers year of no playoffs, in my mind, it's tough though. I don't think any of the top 2 draft picks will be in the playofs(portland, seattle) their teams around them are just to weak, and it's just their rookie seasons. I'm sure in 2-3 years they'll be up their. Now, what do you guys think the standings will be? Guess!:P Martin Eastern Conference 1. Ottawa Sentators 2. Pittsburgh Peguins 3. New York Rangers 4. New Jersey Devils 5. Buffalo Sabers 6. Tampa Bay Lightning 7. Toronto Maple Leafs 8. Phillidelphia Flyers 9. Washington Capitals 10. Flordia Panthers 11. Atlanta Thrashers 12. Montreal Candiens 13. New York Islanders 14. Carolina Hurricanes 15. Boston Bruins Summary: I think the Sens year has come. I predict they will lead their conference, with an improving Emery, and still with the big 3. Toronto and Philly I expect to make playoffs this year. Boston Bruins will be the worst team in my mind, their team is getting weaker every day Western Conference 1. Detriot Red Wings 2. Anahiem Mighty Ducks 3. San Jose Sharks 4. Vancover Canucks 5. Colorado Avalanche 6. Calgary Flames 7. Edmonton Oilers 8. Minnesotia Wild 9. Dallas Stars 10. Nashville Predators 11. Chicago Blackhawks 12. St. Louis Blues 13. Los Angeles Kings 14. Phoneix Coyatoes 15. Colombus Blue Jackets I predict Wings will only get better this year, and stay on top the West/League. The new addition in Rafalski is a big booster to their lineup. Edmonton, and Colorado will make the playoffs this year unlike last year. Edmontons additions in Souray&Piktanten&Penner will be big, and the Avalnche addition in Ryan Smith is key. Nashville will fall this year, and so will the Stars. ~*~ Who do you think will be the Top 8 in each conference? ~*~ --Quit--(As of December 22th, 2007)

Boston will definetly improve, however even though they have 3 superstars, and that they will make the playoffs, I don't believe their Champion contenders yet. Their Bench is very weak. Also they have 2 spots that will be filled on the starting lineup with basic no namers. Their Bench won't get more then 10-15 points a game, which cannot win a title. I do believe they are a 4th-7th team this year, and will improve big time. Minnesotia meanwhile, let go of a player that has wanted to leave the past few years. And in return, i believe got a very nice package, and the future lies on them. Al Jefferson, who will be a future all-star, is only going to improve, along with the other 2 young players they have recieved. Theo Ratliff, if he can regain his touch, who had always been an amazing shotblocker, can be good if healthy for the team. --Quit--(As of December 22th, 2007)
superson
I don't follow basketball, but it doesn't seem to make sense that 16 out of 30 teams make the playoffs... Playoffs are supposed to be for the elite, not the mediocre. In Soviet Russia, glass eats OTers. Alansson Alansson, woo woo woo! Pink owns yes, just like you!GOOOOOOOOOO ALAN! WOO! martinisback
well, same thing goes for nhl. However, 16 teams make it but ur saying their "elite" so they make .. 1 seed verus - 8 2 seed versus -7 3 seed verses-6 4 seed versuses-5 So if you are good in the season, you face a worse oppenent. Some teams do mess up their season because the playoffs, like this years dallas mavericks who had a record that was like 69-13 or something, and faced a team with a record of like 41-41= and then 69-13 lost-.- --Quit--(As of December 22th, 2007)

azntemplar_00
I think this might be the season the Rockets actually get past the first round. You've still got the combo of Yao and Tracy, but now you have Battier and Scola to fill in the gaps. Only problem is PG, where we have a selection nightmare. Oh and Mutumbo a year older too lol
bartoron
Even with the Celtics getting Ray Allen and KG, the East isn't going to be better than the West. The Bobcats getting Jason Richardson isn't going to be enough to get them a winning record and the Knicks (unfortunately) are going to screw everything up like usual. Did getting Zach Randolph really help? It's going to be hard to make room for Randolph and David Lee to start at the same time. David Lee is a very underrated player and it's a real shame that he only started 12 games last season. How is it that a guy who averages a double-double can't even be a starter? Jared Jefferies, Malik Rose, and Jerome James are all useless and only eat away at the Knicks' incredibly high payroll. :( Here's what I would see as an ideal starting lineup: Point Guard - Stephon Marbury Shooting Guard - Jamal Crawford Small Forward - David Lee Power Forward - Zach Randolph Center - Eddy Curry

martinisback
Nets Pistons Heat Caviliers Raptors Celtics Chicago. The top 4 west teams MAY be better then the toop 4 in the East, however the Easts way better down low in the 9th-15th seeds. You got a couple teams who really have no one at the end, but the Bobcats for an example, who probablyt will finish 12th-15th, have newly aquired Jason Richardson, and have tons of rookies who are improving. --Quit--(As of December 22th, 2007)
bartoron
The West is still going to be better than the East. Get over it. :-s Last season, there were only 2 teams in the Eastern Conference that finished with 50 or more wins (Cleveland with 50 and Detroit with 53). There were 5 teams in the Western Conference that had 50 or more wins (Utah with 51, Houston with 52, San Antonio with 58, Phoenix with 61, and Dallas with 67). Lord_Omar_Iv
The Eastern Conference this year will be MUCH better then the West hate to break it to u but the only superstars the west lost were Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett.... Both which were on horrible, non-contending teams. The West still has San Antonio, Dallas, Phoenix alone that can destroy any East team in a series. Plus the west just gained what some critics believe to future hall of famers in rookies Kevin Durant and Greg Oden. please i wanna know how the hell u came up with this absurd prediction. I guaranteed in 2-3 yrs T-wolves will be back in the playoffs with that YOUNG talent theyve gotten.

azntemplar_00
Yeah, the west is still going to be better than the east. Just because a bunch of aging superstars have been brought into the broken conference doesn't mean they'll just gel. There's something called team chemistry that has to be built and maintained. I'd say while the east has some new shiny toys to play with, the big guns in the west have are just finetuning their weapons.

WE'll have to wait for the all-star game:P. And some of you say " just cause 2 superstars came to the east, doesnt mean east is better." come on, Garnett is one hell of a player top 5 player in the Nba, and our best Pf inthe east was like Jermaine O'neal, now its garnett:p. martinisback
you cant decide which conference is better through an allstar gane :wall: Why is that? Standings can't be decided throu each conference because they barely face the western teams, vise versa.
