August 6, 200718 yr you cant scream? and why would you want to? He wants to do a death metal style growl or scream, not just a loud yell. I think its mostly with your throat. I'd definitely use a mic too so it can be louder.

Alot of metal bands use the instructor on the dvd's and these are probably your best bet on learning how to properly scream without damaging your vocal cords. Oh and if you have never seen them before be in for a real suprise.
August 6, 200718 yr I've heard of some people who use a sticky substance or something to help growl. IDK, I saw it for some black metal band. I forget what he used -- however.

August 6, 200718 yr drink sometihng that causes lots of salavia, such as oj or fruit drinks. just close your throat then keep your tougne down and yell, its not easy but you'll find it soon. its something you have to work on and not be shy about practicing :) Rip. August 6, 200718 yr Check out Necrophagist's vocalist's (Muhummad Suicmez-sp?) growl, and try to replicate it. I personally don't think it's humanly possible, but a buddy of mine does it perfect, so.... That and for scremo, check out Children of Bodom, try and replicate his scream, it's pretty easy. Be careful not to mess up your vocal cords though, that wouldn't be good... August 8, 200718 yr it comes from deep within your belly :P seriously... Truth. Start the scream with your diaphragm and abdominal muscles. You'll want a lot of air in your lungs and use your throat a tiny bit to get the finer details of pitch and grating sorted out. The majority of the work should come straight from your belly though.
