thingummywut
I could make them really easily as they're already stored in MIDI format. Just import them to Guitar Pro (it's a program that uses MIDI to playback guitar (and other instrument) notes) and you got all the music sheets you need. It's easiest for you to get this program (it's a free trial) and import the RS MIDIs.
PFJ
Hmmm...sheet music...I could make a transcript of certain songs into a drumset or other wise similar percussion. It'd be a fun project, I haven't written anything in a while.. Either way, your probably looking for something different(a whole transcript, playable by a school band or somthing) Siggy By...me! ^^ If you've got any tips on sig making, photoshop in general, or a recommendation on a good DSLR to get me started, pm me =]

towerchihuahua
I got the midis. Is there anyway to turn them into mp3s? thingummywut, it would be great if you could somehow make them into sheet music, as after using guitar pro to make 3 songs (none of which were very good) it stopped writting the music correctly. Wkw
It's impossible to rip the midis from the game anymore. I riped a few ,like 5 before they updated the game engine. thingummywut
Oh, darn. I remember importing midis months ago just out of curiosity and played some with my guitar. Didn't know that the system has changed :( I was planning on doing notation for every single tune in RS, but never got into it. And of course I could import what you have, just send them to thingummywut (at) jippii.fi EDIT: Actually found the main theme which I saved on my hard drive. I can send it to you if you give me your e-mail.

They were stored there as MIDI files. Now they have some weird .dat and .idx cache files which include the MIDIs somehow, but not directly like before. dwarfie76
just play it by ear Exactly. Notation is for musicians without talent. You may as well run a pianola roll.
thingummywut
just play it by ear Exactly. Notation is for musicians without talent. You may as well run a pianola roll. I dare to disagree. Playing by ear is a skill, playing by notation is another skill. Both have their strong sides and weak sides, none is better. It's just plain ignorance to say that notes are for non-talented people. dwarfie76
It's just plain ignorance to say that notes are for non-talented people. And the sort of ignorance which confuses "notes" which are the tones that the instrument produces and "notation" which is the requirement to have each of those notes dictated precisely in terms of pitch, duration and volume before one can play a piece of music would be? Notes are certainly for everyone. Notation is "paint by numbers" for people learning how to play.
towerchihuahua
Guitar Pro isn't any good, I guess I'll go back to my first notion and try and figure it out myself. Idk when i'll have time tho....especially with marching band 10 hours a day...
