Barrows/prayer question

Ok, well I feel like a complete noob asking this but I've read a few guides and none of them have an answer so... Here it is:

 

 

 

Yesterday I was doing my first ever barrows trip, and while I was in the the crypts my prayer drained by 6 every so often. I'm 54 prayer, and during my time there I had to consume 2 prayer potions. Anyway, the guide said that with 60+ pray you can do a trip without prayer potions, and I didn't see how I was possible if prayer drains that fast. Anyway, I was wondering if there is a way to stop this? I'm sure the answer is really obvious but I just didn't see it. Anyway, thanks a lot in advance.

Theres no way to stop this.

 

 

 

However, I only use prayer on Dharoks and Karils and sometimes Verac, none of the other brothers do I use prayer on. Do it in this order: dharoks-->Karils-->verac and finish them off as fast as you can.

 

 

 

Then kill Torag and Guthans with full melee armor on, doing mage atks, and then kill ahrims with ranging with good mage def.

 

 

 

I have 62 Prayer, and the only time I ever have to use a dose of ppot is when I get one of the first 3 brothers in the tunnels or if I run out of prayer before I finish the first 2 brothers (which rarely happens, unless I get really unlucky).

 

 

 

Also, if you're Magic is really low, you might want to reconsider doing barrows, or your current method of doing it.

Well some people only pray on dharok and karil, im assuming you prayed on every brother?

im 52 prayer and use 1 DOSE per trip and i kill in this order:dhorack.. leave usually with 35 pray,ahrim,30 pray,karils torag and guthen get me down to 0 pray then i use 1 dose and kiill veracs..i sont need pray in tunnel casue i still have 10 foodish(lobs or monks)i usually wear initiate or monks robes while there using range/slayerdart

Ya, as you get more experiences and higher level'd, you will be able to take many of the brothers without prayer.

 

 

 

Ushally DH and Karil are the only ones high levels pray on, Simply because they hit the hardest. Verac can hit, but isnt as much a theat as the other two.

 

 

 

Also, while in the tomb/tunnels your prayer drains by 10 everytime the ghost face appears on your screen (High resolution only).

 

 

 

But theres no way to fight them all using prayer and not use pots, simply isnt possible.

people use no prayer sometimes because of the fact that they bring barrows armour (due to the high def bonuses) and pray only on dharok, karil, and ahrim. i personally bring prayer boosting equipment: prosolye plate and legs, neitiznot helm, prayer book and the rest of the normal equipment for slayer dart. it hasnt failed me yet and i can do runs completely safe with prayer with 2-4 doses. i dont feel like it is necessary to bring expensive equipment down into such a risky minigame, and its not like i am unexperience there, well over 350 trips total under my belt and not one death because of me using the method i use. good luck to your future barrowing, and i hope your luck isnt as bad as mine...

OT: My personal method is Dharok, Karil, Ahrim, Verac, Torag, Guthan. I have 63 prayer, so i can get through the first 2 (and a bit of Ahrim) with prayer, and I mage the rest while wearing full torags. If Karil is in my tunnel, I'll drink a dose then kill him. Otherwise, I'll safespot.

If you pray on Dharok and Karil, and then use remaining on Ahrim/Verac, you can do a run without using prayer pots.

the tip it guide says that, but all i said is that it never happened to me. and anyways, as good as tip it is, they do make some mistakes. about this, i am not sure if its true or not, but i just know it never happens to me and i cant go back to test it out as i am out of members.
